As I said on the other thread, it's an allocation of resources.

What most guys spend on a nice car they could spend on good clothes, gym, proper food and supplements.

A good looking, in shape guy with no (or a crappy) car is going to pull more than a guy with a car.

I'm talking about just having a car. Any car or a scooter or any type of wheels that you can get someplace and pick a girl up.

Those dudes are a pain in the ass! And they lie about how long until they show. I'm an impatient mofo and can only deal with that when I have time to burn. 2am is busy for them. If you have a plan that relies on good timing to get laid your fucked. This is not like Europe where cabs are lined up waiting for people everywhere.

Oh I don't deny that at all. It sucks waiting 45 minutes for the fucking cab that was supposed to be there in ten.

It would better to have your own limo. Big Grin

You're right. My game is shit. You don't need a car in LA. I was just trolling. Despite being the city in America most committed and shaped by the car industry, the most spread out geographically, and the one in which the car-status correlation is probably strongest, all of Los Angeles is totally accessible by bicycle or on foot.

I don't have your level of game, though. So I need a car there. Maybe you don't need a cell phone either, a computer, or even a dick to get laid. You just got it like that, player. Teach us, please!

Weird. That could be because you go out with jappy ones. That said, a majority of chicks in LA (over 50 percent) are probably going to bitch and moan about having to drive past a certain invisible line.

Thanks. I thought you might appreciate that.

Have you pulled at any of those joints lately? Q's, Cabo, and Busby's have all been firmly sausage-festy the last several times I visited. I feel like all those known places have been sucked dry.

Tuth, I have some news for you. You're just not alpha enough. I can sit out on the quad at UCLA, legs splayed out, and if I so much as scratch my balls, I got the whole blonde beach volleyball team shoving their asses in my face.

Even though the car-status thing is highest in LA, having a modest car probably won't hurt you too much (I'm talking like a 2000 Civic, not a 70's pinto with plastic tape for windows). I was at a Rodeo Dr. adjacent department store the other day and saw a couple Priuses in the joint, and realized that nowadays, you can drive one of those and still pass yourself off as rich (eg, Larry David in Curb Your Enthusiasm). Plus, often girls will have no idea what you drive before you bang them. I think the snob factor is much bigger when it comes to where you live, which is also much more likely to come up in conversation.

Girls will moan about driving, but a little joking and they eventually say, "Fine, I'll drive." Lots of Jewish girls though will turn it into this "that's the man's job" schtick. And they're too proud to let me win. They weren't especially jappy, though I'm sure the japs are even worse along those lines.

Cabo sucks balls. Q's is not my style, very American Jackass type joint, but it may still be good for the right guy. Never been to Busby's at peak time, but I get the feeling that it's similar. I haven't been to Q's or Cabo in over a year though. Main Street is good though.

That's what I am saying. I used to stay in South Florida and without a car, I was extremely limited. If SoCal is like South Florida (el mechanico can I get a chime in?) then living there without a car limits the AVERAGE person to the leftovers.

Of course, after all people here refer to each other by area code. "He's an 818" or "we're 213!" blah blah. If you're a "909" then you might as well live in no man's land. There's actually a certain status tied to your area code. With 310 being the most prestigious. I don't think there's anywhere else in the country that shit goes on. I remember reading about some neighborhood that practically begged the post office to have their area included in the 90210 zip code.

If you couldn't afford a decent car, you might be able to get away with buying a nice motorcycle for the same price as a cheap car. That's one way you could DHV without spending a ton of money. Especially if the girl has never rode on the back of one. You could easily make yourself into the badboy that lives on the edge and doesn't drive caged vehicles.

That's probably what I would do if I couldn't afford a car. Plus way less gasoline and insurance. Though obviously dangerous as hell.

That definitely does happen with Manhattan (212). I make a joke about it when I get an 818 chick's number - "actually, my phone has trouble dialing 818 numbers." Another one I heard from a family friend is "G.U. - Geographically Undesirable." They're also overlaying (424) on the (310) spots, but 424 doesn't have the same cachet.

I think Tuthmosis and Mike should race down Mullholland and Basil against Speakeasy. Then have the winners race. Who would win? I would probably fly out to watch such an event then we could all head up to make-out point and do some cockblocking.

I bet Basils car is Immaculate inside.

I would go old school with this RD 400 canyon racer

RE: Living in Southern California Without A Car
This is water under the bridge for me right now. I had a long day at work and didn't bother checking the forum from my laptop there.

I'm glad the LA guys (Tuth, Basil, Speakeasy) stepped up to the plate. I knew real LA people would back me up on this.

I have nothing against MikeCF. I respect his posts and I'll just assume his winning/losing idea was probably a sign he hasn't got laid lately haha. I mean that in a joking way. Could care less about who's right or not. All I can say is if you think the answer to how to live in Socal without a car is to have a $200K/year job while living AND working in Santa Monica and paying for cabs, then I can tell you that's a very weak argument that simply isn't helpful for the vast majority of people. That's just trolling bro, but I realize you only do that when it's about threads/post that are in some way related to criticism/skepticism of Gmanifesto or his claims. Maybe you're his alter ego or something. Don't know, don't care. Outside of that, you usually give good value to the forum.

Anyway, I'm done with this thread. The LA men have spoken. +1

i guess theoretically if you lived in Santa Monica, worked in Santa Monica, had lots of friends in Santa Monica, and enough disposable income that you could piss away money on rentals and cabs every time you wanted to travel more then a few miles that its possible. but living in most places in SoCal would be miserable w/o a car, especially OC.

Yea, they really backed you up. It sounds like you're still gasping for air to get the last word in.

Nothing against Tuth, Basil, or Speakeasy, but like I said.. haven't owned a car, not for days, weeks, or months, but years. And I know others who have done it also.

You guys sound like the people who can't believe how guys like us can travel so much... it's impossible right?

I've been reading this forum since 2009 and don't post much because of some of the arguments that go on here.. but seriously Hencredible.. some days you sound like you're not on your meds.

It's so bad and weird that I'm going to give you a +1 for creepy status.

Umm...says the guy who speaks after three reputable LA forum members have already made my point. You're speaking about yourself obviously. Get a life man. Ad hominem attacks never help one's argument. If you have no merit from which to make your point then bow out gracefully. This thread is done. I'm sure you were dating plenty of models and actresses in your carless days (as if you're dating any now). Right. Laugh

LOL at HC thinking he gets to say when a thread is done.

Hilarious thread all around.

Let's recap:

HC makes a claim. I prove him wrong. Then he says my proof is invalid because most guys are broke.

Another cat proves him wrong.

Then HC ducks out until some white knights rescue him.

They give each other dick high-5s - calling each other "true LA players."

Hilarious.
