There is nothing like the magic the Beatles created in their time. Maybe Led Zeppelin or the Rolling Stones came close...but not at their level. Beethoven and Mozart would be proud of those 4 dudes, especially Lennon and McCarney. Anyone disagree with me, I am all ears.

I'm really not a big fan of The Beatles, and have only heard a few songs.

Got nothing against them, but what I don't understand is how they went from Twist and Shout to Yellow Submarine. I mean, the total change on their music to drug suggesting themes is just really weird for me. Can't really say more since I don't know much about the band.

I am more a fan of their writing than their sound. In part you can judge the impact of a group by how many artists cover their songs. "Let It Be" is my favorite, and I also like "The Long and Winding Road," "Come Together," and "Yesterday." I've also traveled to Abbey Road Studios in London and signed the wall to show respect...HA HA!

While I greatly admire and respect the Beatles, I think the term "best" is extremely subjective.

That said, my all-time favorite band is Cream, and my all-time favorite song is Cream's rendition of the Robert Johnson classic "Crossroads"

Dude seriously?! Haha, you've probably heard way more than you'd ever know. They were extremely dynamic, and songs would sound completely different.

I agree that "BEST" is subjective. I used to hate on the Beatles just because I liked Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, and the Rolling Stones better for rock bands.

I saw McCartney in concert about a year ago at Great American Ballpark, where the Cincinnati Reds play. One of McCartney's conditions to play here was that the ballpark couldn't sell any meat products - no brats, no hot dogs, no hamburgers at the ballpark.

Had I known that before purchasing my ticket, I probably wouldn't have went.

I think if you frame the question in terms of how prolific a group was, and/or their cultural or music industry impact, there's a very strong argument for the Beatles being the best ever. I say that as someone who wasn't really into their sound. Their appearance on the Ed Sullivan Show, and their "invasion" of America with their Shea Stadium performance may never be matched by any group again in terms of significance and legend. In the end, the Stones were probably more prolific as performers, especially since they're still performing and recording. Their overall impact on the culture and industry wasn't as strong as the Beatles though. A large reason for that is that they were somewhat controversial (some of their lyrics weren't radio-friendly) and they definitely embraced sex and drugs in what was a very different America at that time. I'm still more of a fan of the Stones or even Led Zeppelin in terms of listening enjoyment.

2 Which band has had their songs covered the most: Beatles
3.Which bands albums always appear on any music critic or magazines top 10: Beatles
4. In a vote by musicians (done by VHI) years ago who came out as the best musicians of the 20th century: Beatles
5 In Time magazines 100 most influential people of the 20th century which was the only band to make the list: Beatles
6. When Ive taken a dump in the bathroom of an Egyptian restaurant or gone to a shitty bar in Mexico, which foreign artist was I more likely to hear: the Beatles
7. Who were the most innovative and creative musicians of the 20 century (i.e first to make music videos, add oriental instruments, etc) Beatles
