This thing has become another cockblock to deal with.

If there's a silence in the conversation, a girl will get anxious and go to her ipod.

The biggest cockblock on the ipod is texts from her friends etc. checking on her. If your game is tight enough, or she's out for dick that night, you won't need a strategy to deal with it. But, if you are still getting your game together, this might be a hole in your hull.

They way I've been countering this is to ask her to look something up on the Iphone. Like the name of a comedian or something we're talking about. This way she gets her fix, but she's not just texting friends or other dudes.

The fundamental idea here is to make sure that you are controlling her focus.

Well said. Women are like children and iDevices have only served to divert focus from reality even more. In the past whenever I realized the cell-phone has become a "problem." I'll playfully take it out of their hands (put it on silent) and hide it under the couch or something.

Occasionally I've starting putting my hand over their screen and saying,

"Oh jeez, these things are so fucking lame"

Can't say that it increases attraction, but it does make them laugh and I don't just sit there like a chump.

I've been thinking about buying one for a while. They have ones that work on different frequencies for each type of carrier.

If it's a group outing you can't really do anything about it. But if it is in the context of a
"date" you can say something. Problem is they don't treat anything like a date anymore.
ie ...no respect.

I've had girls stop mid-conversation in order to reply to a text. One actually
apologized to me over it. Most will just pause you, reply to the text and then continue after.
Very frustrating

The jammer is a good idea in theory, but once a girl realizes that something is wrong with her phone, she will completely ignore you until all is right in her world again with her iPhone. Showing your disapproval should be enough, and if she doesn't care, then she's a low class asshole.

i like to call girls out on it. sometimes playfully, sometimes not really. this phone thing is super good excuse to spike up the atmosphere asking "girl, what's up with this phone thing? how old are you!? sooo immature.." even though i might be 2 years older ahahah. this really hits their insecurities.

so to me it's about demanding attention and drawing some boundaries

i remember one girl who was holding her phone in hand nonstop, i was calling her at least 10-20 times every time we hung out

I rarely leave room for silences, and when I do they only last like half a minute.

Anyways, when this happen I try to tease her and comment on her about it, if she does not get the hint I consider:

- Getting the fuck out and ditch her. I've never really done this, but who knows, someday I might just.
- Ending the date in a subtle manner ("something came up") and never call her again.

Of course ,you need to escalate and see if she can still put out even with all the iPhone bullshit, some girls really can't control that dumb habit.

I beat them to it. One of my early first date moves is to break out my phone while they are talking. I get called out on it. It makes her hamster run wild and it cuts out the behavior of her doing it.

If a girl does this to me I first make a playful-ish disapproving stare at her without saying anything (raised eyebrow, "are you kidding me?" look), and then if she keeps doing it, I say, "hey can I see your phone?" then when she hands it to me I slip her phone in my pocket with a big shit eating grin. Then I just keep her phone in my pocket for the next 15 min. or so, this is enough time to get the point across that texting in front of me is not acceptable. This almost always works, and if she does get pissed and demand the phone back I end the date early as it's not going to go anywhere anyway.

I don't remember where I read this, but it's very helpful.

If a girl takes out her phone, I count 20 (but 10 works as well) in my head.

If it takes longer than 20 seconds, I just walk away from where ever I am.

Don't say anything. Just walk away.

Or.. call them out on it. Say, "oh ok let me give you some time to catch up on your facebook" or something like that sarcastically.

If she still doesn't put her phone away after that response, say that she has the attention span of a 3 year old

When this happens to me I usually get right into her space and look with feigned exaggerated interest while smiling "who are you texting?? what's going on over here?" They smile/laugh, apologize and that's the end of it

I play their own game but shit on them at the same time. So ok you want to text mid-convo? Watch me play your own game and beat you.
It Hasn't failed yet and I do the same thing every time.
I will pull out my phone while she's talking, and start to type with absolutely no eye contact. Until I Speak to her. This is a Rule of thumb

She'll be talking and even though I heard her, I'll look up and say
"what? can you say that again?"
As soon as she starts yapping off again I look right back at my phone and start texting as If I dont give a fuck what she's saying. I might throw out an:
"oh really" (Without eyecontact) in the the tone of voice that implies 'yeah, i dont care, shut up already'.

Or repeat the other question as if you missed something: "wait, what was that?" then look up right after and when she talks again wait a little bit the look right back down at your phone.
When she's seems a little stressed or insecure put away your phone. Your job is done.
Normally after that they never pull out their phone anymore or a just do a quick glance.

Disclaimer: I'm not sure how this works with older Women. But then again what the fuck would an older chick be doing texting like that anyway?
