I will hopefully do the same about Floripa, Rio Grande do Sul (Santa Cruz) and Buenos Aires I will probably skip Cordoba since it´s holidays and from what I read in this forum Cordoba is a university town.
I was thinking on going to an hostel (i was thinking Mango tree but it´s already fully booked) or apartments in Rio. Does anyone have some links ?

i booked my apartment through gringomanagement.com

Yesterday I`ve been in Melt (tuesday), the party that use to happen in Conversa fiada now passed to Melt. The party was pretty cool. Not the same quality in girls than in Floripa though.
Rio is also expensive 150 reais is not enough for dinner and clubbin...
In Brazil you have to be agressive with girls. which can be a problem if you don`t know w/ who she`s with.
Today I will try out Baronetti. Btw met Quasi cool guy to hang around.

Easy come, easy go!

May be a carioca slang, since caralho is a male word. PRO is a ocasional and not formal contraction of para + o (you know what I mean?)

Also pra caralho can mean a lot. So you must had heard someone saying Smthing PRA CARALHO, A LOT OF something.

Greed, in a lack of better word, is good.

"Vai pra caralho" can also be used to say "go to hell". And pra caralho can be translated to "a shit ton of" something.
Another word that is heavily used in Rio is "porra!". And you'd be surprised in how many ways that little word can be used. Big Grin
An example of using both of these expressions in the same sentence:

Say you're asking a cool dude there if there'll be a lot of "filet" (slang for beautiful girls) in a club, he'll probably answer you:
"Porra! cara vai ter pra caralho la". Big Grin

Chocolate, since you're a native, here's a question for you:
When Brasilians start a sentence with "po", is that a short form for "porra"? Or does that mean something else?

Valeu.

New quotes!

Vem na minha que é sucesso! = You can say to your friends when you know something that they don't.

Um lance é um lance, um lance não e romance = A thing it is just a thing it is not a romance.

Cheiro = To be smelled or smell deeply someone in the neck. Your old aunt may give you one of those, but when a man/woman gives you a cheiro.... turns you on for sure

Greed, in a lack of better word, is good.

Cool, that's one of my fav techniques to get a girl horny. How is "cheiro" pronounced? It is like "sher-rho" or "sher-e-o" or...?
