I was really surprised at some of the talent in Mongolia. I end up going to fashion show in the capital and saw some stunning looking models - very tall, slim, and elegant.

Not only are some of them really cute, they are FAR more sexual than their counterparts in China and Korea. They have the Genghis Khan thing going on. The Mongolian men are bad asses and the chicks are relatively liberal for the far east. I've been seeing a Mongolia girl now for several months now. She knows about my blog and book and is cool with my lifestyle. Her best mate is a similarly liberal, too. Mongolians know how to party.

I think it comes down to the level of attraction that people have towards Asian women in general. Certain Asian women are considered attractive to all men, regardless of their particular preferences, but on the other hand, some Asian women fall into the category of only being attractive to those who have an Asian fetish to begin with. This girl from Mongolia falls into that second category.

A few months ago I got the idea of a trip to Mongolia as a recon mission for an extended stay (the economy there is EXPLODING). My turn-offs about the place are: absence of roads which means little or no "car culture", absence of personal safety due to drunk nationalist descendants of Genghis Khan, overabundance of semi-pro girls in the areas safest for foreigners.

Looking at this thread though, I might start planning a trip after all. I rate Asians 2nd only to Slavic and Scandinavian women, but my current long-term Okinawan girlfriend is of only mediocre height and has no tits. I might have to go get me a big Mongolian bitch.

Having the ability to drive myself and any passengers anywhere, at any time, at fast exhilarating speeds, is an asset, not a crutch or a liability. An asset that has catapulted "will probably bang" girls into SNL status on more than one occasion (four, to be exact, two here in Japan and two in California). Plus, I'm a car nut/gearhead. I'd rather be somewhere with cars+girls rather than just girls.

I don't care how many people rave about swooping beach girls in Spain, you'll never see me there because I hate sand and am not fond of water or extreme sunlight either. I'd rather have two houses and 6 cars, with a mere 2-3 girls on permanent harem status in each location. I choose my travel destinations with such a long-term objective in mind.

I spent two weeks in Ljubljana in April (still haven't gotten around to writing that report). I didn't take my cars or get a rental. I thoroughly enjoyed myself, and consider it a high-ranking relocation spot on my list, since I now have two social circles that I can fall into there. And that's with 0 new notches earned (6 make-outs though). I don't think having a car would have changed my notch count. It's a pedestrian-centric city and the Slovenians seem to despise car commuting (one chick said she moved into LJ from her village because a 20 minute drive to work was too long).

That said, it would have made life in general easier. I wouldn't have frozen my ass off waiting at some train station in Austria at 0300hrs while trying to get back from Venice. Driving to Venice and back would have saved countless hours better spent resting or gaming. I'd have been more inclined to explore Maribor, or to stay longer near Lake Bled, with independent transport.


In contrast, Mongolia has like 10 total miles of paved roads. You can't get *anywhere* without either taking the train or having a serious off-road vehicle. Sports cars are likely to get damaged driving almost anywhere in Ulan Bataar alone, let alone to/from other towns. If I still owned a Jeep Wrangler it wouldn't be an issue. I could use the Jeep to drive into the wild and meet some cuties still living in yurts in a mountain valley. I don't enjoy driving SUVs (high center of gravity, can't take a corner worth a damn, typically numb steering feel) so even if I had one I'd consider it "less than ideal".

So right now Mongolia is not the right place for me to relocate. And if I'm not considering it for relocation then I'm not going to visit there. I'm subject to a time and resource crunch for finding a semi-permanent base of operations outside the US. I'm not going to burn up resources reconnoitering a country just for shits, giggles, and a few notches.

Dude, just stay in the US if your cars carry such importance. The whole country revolves around getting to places in your car and there is a vast net of resources to support this culture. Nowhere else in the world handling multiple cars be as convenient and cheap. I'm not saying this as something negative, just stating the obvious.

I'm going to generalize a bit here for clarity, but in Latin America you would need a lot of resources on security and safe storage for exclusive cars which would cost you. In Europe the security need is not as great but you'll be hit with a lot of Insurances fees. Gasoline prices are also steep and DUI laws generally very rough. Not to mention that Europe is largely moving away from the car. In Asia both the economy and security of the issue is sound, but as you noted the infrastructure is far more limited and lef hand traffic is quite prevalent (a major pain in a car with the wheel on the left side).

So no matter what way you cut it you are going to be worse of than were you are currently if you are trying to export your current lifestyle wholesale to wherever you are relocating. Thus my advice is to free yourself of your reliance on your cars.

Right now it looks like the following is my "Most Likely Course of Action": become a defense contractor, possibly marry my local Okinawan girlfriend, dick down a bunch of chicks on the side and spend my income on cars. I stopped by the DMV (well, the Slovenian equivalent) in Ljubljana and worked out the procedure for importing my cars. It's pretty straight-forward and not too expensive, although I didn't look into insurance. I also went to the dealership and determined that it would be cheaper to import both my cars than it would be to sell them both and buy a single replacement in Slovenia itself. European gas prices aren't much worse than what I'm spending in Japan: about $7.50/gal for premium, roughly $300/month. I never drink alcohol so DUI laws are irrelevant.

Damon have you visited the HUBB forum ( Horizons Unlimited )? It's full of great info about importing cars and driving in various countries. A lot of knowledgeable people on there who have been to Mongolia with vehicles. Check it out.

I didn't click w/this city. I think I would need a longer stay here. Girls get married here very very young and have kids by 19-21. Girls having kids by 24 is considered old. Very traditional, family-oriented culture w/hyper-macho man culture (warrior culture, i guess). I couldn't get through to the girls- had language issues and isolation issues. Everybody travels in big groups.

Summer-time is the best time to go. Winter-time is miserable. It has very very bad smog. From what I have heard, the pollution is so bad that you cant see more than 5 feet in front of you.

From my experience in Mongolia, Marco's above-posted pic is def. a free-lancer. I would say shes at least late 20s if not early 30s.

Ill drop some additional data. Went last year summer-time.

Grand Khaan Irish Pub- biggest pub in UB. Huge outdoor seating, big indoor seating, upstairs VIP/private party room. Only place that serves alcohol on the 1st of the month (no alcohol sold on the first of the month). The alcohol they serve is long-island ice teas (aka so it looks like juice).
1st of the month is when you see big burly men who usually drink beer drink bitch-drinks (hehe).

Metropolis- Decent nightclub. Come a bit earlier (11ish), later in the night it gets crowded. Indoor smoking. House music. Bottles of vodka at the bar (mongolian vodka about 30-40 dollars). Rich and famous congegrate here.

Brick- Decent hip-hop nightclub. Come here a bit later. I would say 12ish. Indoor smoking. Bottles are a bit pricier here (45-60 dollars). Younger crowd as well. Rich and famous. Met the president's son here- tip he like vodka and red-bull yellow (asian non-sparkling redbull).

Face- Hip-hop club. It was not crowded.

Ikh Mongol- beer-hall. Famous. Lots of groups of UB wealthy kids and tourists/backpackers. Not my scene.

Lavazzo(sp?)- high-end restaurant- I believe its on Peace Ave. Its walking distance from Sukbahtar sq. Rich and famous here. Lots of fly-girls here having dinner. Dudes smoking cigars indoor here. Very very posh.

Bull hot-pot restaurant- dope dope hot-pot noodles w/beef or pork. It was the highlight of food in Mongolia. Its a soup dish brought out simmering on a fire. You stir in noodles, dumpling, meat, veggies, potatoes and whatever else you order. Miss it a lot...

Thoughts on Mongolia- Highly polluted, poor roads, aggressive driving (on the way from the airport a 2-lane high-way had 2 cars going in each direction), young-money economy, independent women (men died young from war, alcoholism and heart disease/obesity).

Disclaimers- its basically a 3rd world shit-hole. I was scared by all my mongolian hi-society friends. Dancing in a club is no touching. I would walk up to talk to girls in a club.
IE- Friends- dont do that.
Me- why?.
Friends- people fight over that.
Me- **wtf.

Be careful walking around.
1) Mongolian drunk men have this retarded idea that they are descended from Genghis Khan and need to prove it. Brawling in the street is common. In my 3 weeks there, almost got into 3 scrapes. My mongolian friends de-escalated it or would handle it for me. Solid dudes.
2) Be careful of groups of children at night, especially when walking solo. These are pick-pocket beggar-children. I deal w/them like I deal w/them in Soviet countries. Scream at them and make a scene.
3) Cars speed and dont stop. Cross the road extremely carefully.
4) Road are uneven. You can fall into a pothole if your not careful.

Theres a huge pressure on youth to get married young and have children. Its a vestige of older culture. The family I stayed with gave me an apt on Peace Ave. for 3 weeks.

At age 45, this women was a grand-mother already. Constant pressure to have children.

I went to a hair-cutting ceremony. I believe they do not cut the infant's hair until a certain age, at which point they shave it bald. Boys 4 and Girls 3 (They explained it having something to do w/the lunar calendar. I didn't understand it fully). The family is enormous, at least 40 people. The family I stayed with- the 45 year old woman had 3 brothers, 3 sisters, tons of cousins, aunts, uncles, etc. All of these people had multiples kids. Big big families.

Although I didn't go, there is a country-wide famous competition Nadaam in July. This is basically a Mongolian Olympics- spear-throwing, horseback riding, wrestling, etc.

The rich and famous younger-youth do not live in UB during the bulk of the year. They live/study in London, Paris, Milan, Russia, China and come home for the summer.

Other brags- Went to the gun range. Fired AK-47, dragunov sniper rifle, pistols, machine gun, tommy gun. I even shot off a soviet-style RPG. I had the option of driving a tank and firing a missile out of the tank, but i passed on it. For a 100 bucks extra and an earlier phone call, they will drag a car unto the field and douse it w/gasoline and let you shoot it w/the tank.

Not me....




I almost had a heart-attack before I pulled the RPG trigger. Crazy adrenaline rush.

In a bit more than 2 weeks there I have banged 4 girls, 2 of them couple of times, which means 6 out of 15-16 days I got laid, I think only in Philippines I got higher rate and I do not consider myself above average neither in game nor in looks.
