Stockholm
I'm headed there with a buddy during the first week of September for 5 nights (scandanavia air is running a special; non-stop roundtrip flight from NYC is 557 dollars). Anyone have local knowledge? I'll know the best parts of town to hit for nightlife, but looking for quality off-the-radar places, places that aren't in the Timeout Stockholm book. Accommodation recommendations would also be appreciated. I will provide a post-trip summary as to game success. If anyone has any tips or insights specific to girls in stockholm, please share.

My sources say Stureplan is where the beautiful people cavort, having all the high-end nightlife (guestlists and all that). Sodermalm is supposed to be hipper, more bohemian, and down to earth. I still haven't talked to a few people I know who went there recently. Here is what one source said:

You’re going to have a great time. Right off the top I would recommend staying in an area called Stureplan. It’s right in the middle of the clubs, shops, cafes, nightlife, etc. It’s a very nice area of Stockholm. Last time I was there I stayed at the Scandic Anglais. It’s very modern, chic type of spot. The hotel bar is jumping in the evenings.

If you can’t get one there, then downtown Stockholm or Gamla stan is fine as well. The city is not that big so you won’t have a problem getting around. Stureplan gives you an advantage in that you can just walk to where you want to go though.

As for night spots, there are many but a great place to start the night is a spot called East. It’s also located in Stureplan. It’s like a restaurant/lounge but it is jumping. You can definitely go there in the early evening before the clubs jump off. There is also Sky Bar and LeRoy which are close by too. These are big clubs there. I can follow up with some other spots as well.
