that's exactly what i was looking for, thanks
I just got a pair of jeans I already had tapered so he did it that day for 500 baht.
Whats the best way to get from the Asok area to Don Muang Airport on a Saturday afternoon? I have a friend traveling out of DMK and wondering if a taxi is better than taking the train from Chinatown or some bus.
Global take a taxi. From Asoke the taxi will head towards the Nana area and right after there is a toll road and it won't take too long. Should be 200-250 and toll road price is like 50. I'm guessing with good traffic about 40 or less minutes.
The train from Chinatown is brutally slow, think 40km an hour. As always don't forget to make sure Somchai turns the meter on.

while I'm there I'm going to look for some custom tailored jeans, anyone know where I can get some quality jeans made?

Check out Nama denim in Terminal21, they use Japanese textile and they price is around 4000baht. had mine for six months already, very happy with them

Bought my first ticket to Thailand, arriving in November. For those of you that traveled or live there, could you tell me if vaccinations/shots are needed. Ive been to the CDC site, but I dont always agree with them on things (ie: flu shots). I plan on hitting Bangkok, Chiang Mia, and some beaches.

From CDC site
Hep A and Typhoid are their recommended vaccs.

I might do some adventure stuff, so what about malaria?

Thx

I've never gotten any vaccinations for Thailand.
Been there at least 10 times.
They say there is some malaria carrying mosquitos near Ko Chang (the one near Cambodia, as there are 2 Ko Changs), but it's easier to wear long sleeves and pants than get sick every time you take malaria preventive medicine. (IMO)

Thailand is not 3rd world. (like Bangladesh or Nepal) so, you probably won't be eating feces.
It's actually pretty clean for Asia.
I would just like to say to AFarang that I appreciate your datasheet, and advice in general, in regards to Bangkok. I had stayed at Le Fenix based on your suggestion and visited Funky Villa. I only visited Bangkok for a week, but regardless I just wanted to say thank you for your insights.
^thanks buddy

And for any expats experiencing horrible Internet over the past few days, here's why .

On another note, has anybody found an after hours that are open after 2am? I located one deep in soi 22, about a 2 minute drive in, it's a bit of a dive, but it's free entry and a bottle of 100 pipers is only 600 baht. Was thinking of heading out tomorrow, but would like to have an after hours spot to drink at.

Whats the name of it? last night a taxi told me shot39 is open... They change every night now (if any is even open), I really miss the normal nightlife scene ending at 4am and then having after hours (though they usually aren't that great but were still good if you are in the mood to party more)

PS: I've been in Bangkok for 6 months now and just got back from Hong Kong, would be cool to meet anyone else going out here. I mostly go out every Fri/Sat only now at route66/Onyx or Funky.
Wongs is open but it's basically a gay bar. Other than that I don't know of anything that's open.

No name, just go into soi 22 and keep driving down for about 2-3 mintues untill you see neon lights to a restaurant on the left hand side (opposite 7/11)

I ended up there yesterday after going to Onyx. Was semi busy at 2:30am, with thai bar girls and what looked like Thai Mafia. I left after 15 mintues, I was the only farang in there and sober at that point. I didn't feel too safe.
Have you guys checked out the Central Embassy yet? I'm sure there will be alot of nice broads there.

I was there for the opening and a few times after that. Opening was fun. Other trips were a bit disappointing. Not many crowds though so that's a plus over World and Paragon.
question to the bangkok experts

Im not sure but I think I read somewhere on this forum that there are actually quite a lot of african girls in bangkok

and Im not talking about the disgusting freelancers that roam around nana at night

I believe it was something about them studying as nurses or whatever

can anyone of the bangkok experts chime in and provide some info where they can be found and which countries they are from?

Im craving some black pussy and as weird as it sounds Im approaching any bangable black girl here in thailand (which havent been many so far!)

You're not weird, I have done the same thing! I found some at Ramkhamhaeng University, exchange students mainly from Western Africa.
Just got back from my 11 day trip to Bangkok. Not much has changed since i was last there in Feb, clubs closing at 2am makes night game a little harder but I still did well.

I got 11 new notches, 4 from online, 7 from night clubs. Went out 10 nights.

Online:
Thai friendly and Thai cupid are still the best, Tinder is getting better.

Accommodation:
I stayed on Soi 11, good location but too sleazy, I will not stay there again, will take the advice you guys have been giving and stay walking distance to Asoke/Ekkamai/Thong Lo or a nearby BTS then just set dates around there or at Siam Paragon.

Night life:
RCA - the best but I wasn't invited to tables as much as last time, put in the hard work and you will be rewarded, I saw a lot of other farang go home alone most nights due to them not approaching enough. Closes at 2 – 2:30am. I got there at 11pm most nights and approached like a machine from 12 – 2am. One Saturday night I got blown out 20+ times and went home alone, if your game is weak you will struggle here as it is hard to approach due to all the tables and tiny dance floor.

Levels - good I went 3 times all on weekdays and pulled once, 80%+ of the girls are working so it got frustrating finding a non-working girl. Not sure what it’s like on a weekend.

The Club (Khao San Road) – went across the road to meet a date but she was fat so I ended up taking her friend home haha, we went to The Club for an hour before leaving, a lot of sloppy backpackers, I wore a fitter T-Shirt and was the best dressed there. I think it’s worth doing a week on Khao San Road and see how well you can do. RCA got very repetitious plus the music seems exactly the same each night.

Scratchdog – went with a girl i met at RCA, I was only farang, busy club but I stayed with her so not sure how receptive girls are.

Climax – not my style, I left after an hour, 100% working girls.

After hours:
Bossy- best after hours place i could find, went twice, 300baht entry and get a free drink with it.

Spicy – Horrid, don’t go, very dark, full of hookers and people smoking shisha.

Bangkok is my favourite city, I need to just move there. Every man should do a solo Bangkok trip before he settles down, great destination to work on your game.

11 new notches

Congrats on the perfect score, I'll grill up some kangaroo burgers for lunch tomorrow in your honor.

You should hit up some of the clubs on Thonglor next trip. Sounds like you have the game for it.
Yeah I am very happy with 11, the last night I got back to my place at 7:30am was hard work but very rewarding final notch with one of the hottest girls ive ever been with. If i move to BKK i am keen to try some of the more Thai style clubs.
@ Kangeroo, if you like to approach, go to Route on the weekend when the outside tables are full. Easier to approach and talk. Also on fri/sat the outside rails are full of 'questionable' girls who who are more open to approaches. Having your own table with a bottle is great and makes things a lot easier.

A lot of girls get hit on in Route and now getting 'bitch shields', so sometimes it works to be passive aggressive. Walk around with a drink in your hand and try and get eye contact if a girl looks back and smiles go over and cheers your drink.

Seems like you went alone which raises alarm signals in some girls heads as they know why you are there. Did you have a beer bottle in your hand or whiskey/vodka? Holding a beer means you did not buy a bottle and not all girls but some will judge you for that.

Scratchdog appeals more to Asian men and Thai girls who want Asian men. Pretty hard for western people to pick up unless you try and shore.

All places on Soi 11 are full of bar girls pretty much.

I recently went to Funky Villa, Levels and Climax this week as friends were in town. Will write some reviews of each club on my site later in the week.

- Where did you stay/ would you recommend a person stay? Location & Boutique Hotel vs AirBnB?

- Your 7 in person COLD APPROACH chicas, which clubs did you pick them from?

- I am considering doing a Stopover for maybe few days/ week and may not have pipelining time
Anywhere walking distance to a BTS so you can set dates at Siam Paragon. I stayed at hotels with good breakfast and a gym.

5 Route66, 1 bossy, 1 levels.

Just join tf and message a few girls, can get 10+ line id's quite fast.

Asoke is not a bad area for a newbie. Thong lo if you are more seasoned.

How come? How are they different?

PS: I am not Caucasian. I am 'light/medium colored' handsome 'Indian', speak the queens english, dress stylish/ slight edgy metro at times and tend to pass for Latin very easily but I do not think I'll look like 'white god' to the Thais Tongue

I've gotten along well with Brasilianas, Mehicanas, other Latinas and few EE/ Russians as well. I had some fun side conversations with japanese FAs in their off time, while flying NRT > SF.
Asoke has tons of western/international restaurants, it's a center point to get to any part of Bangkok and has both the BTS and MRT there. the RLD, clubs, bars are a plenty of things to see at night.

Thong Lo is more of an expat area, and without knowing where to go you will find it boring I think. Having said that, do a bit of research on Thong lo, find out a few new restaurants, bars and clubs to visit and you should be good to go.

As for being Indian, you will be fine if you're clean shaven and not so dark skinned/ freshy type look.
Might be going to bangkok soon. Another cousin is getting marriedConfused
