(10-23-2014 10:00 PM)Kangaroo Wrote: [ -> ]Just got back from my 11 day trip to Bangkok. Not much has changed since i was last there in Feb, clubs closing at 2am makes night game a little harder but I still did well.

I got 11 new notches, 4 from online, 7 from night clubs. Went out 10 nights.

Online:
Thai friendly and Thai cupid are still the best, Tinder is getting better.

Accommodation:
I stayed on Soi 11, good location but too sleazy, I will not stay there again, will take the advice you guys have been giving and stay walking distance to Asoke/Ekkamai/Thong Lo or a nearby BTS then just set dates around there or at Siam Paragon.

Night life:
RCA - the best but I wasn't invited to tables as much as last time, put in the hard work and you will be rewarded, I saw a lot of other farang go home alone most nights due to them not approaching enough. Closes at 2 – 2:30am. I got there at 11pm most nights and approached like a machine from 12 – 2am. One Saturday night I got blown out 20+ times and went home alone, if your game is weak you will struggle here as it is hard to approach due to all the tables and tiny dance floor.

Levels - good I went 3 times all on weekdays and pulled once, 80%+ of the girls are working so it got frustrating finding a non-working girl. Not sure what it’s like on a weekend.

The Club (Khao San Road) – went across the road to meet a date but she was fat so I ended up taking her friend home haha, we went to The Club for an hour before leaving, a lot of sloppy backpackers, I wore a fitter T-Shirt and was the best dressed there. I think it’s worth doing a week on Khao San Road and see how well you can do. RCA got very repetitious plus the music seems exactly the same each night.

Scratchdog – went with a girl i met at RCA, I was only farang, busy club but I stayed with her so not sure how receptive girls are.

Climax – not my style, I left after an hour, 100% working girls.

After hours:
Bossy- best after hours place i could find, went twice, 300baht entry and get a free drink with it.

Spicy – Horrid, don’t go, very dark, full of hookers and people smoking shisha.

Bangkok is my favourite city, I need to just move there. Every man should do a solo Bangkok trip before he settles down, great destination to work on your game.

This.

My experiences are 99% similar regarding TF. However I can't do cold approaches for some reason thats why nearly all my notches were from online game. Stayed 10 nights, got 9 notches, 8 of them from Thaifriendly, 1 from RCA. I got the notch from RCA because I was approached. By the way I went out every single night!

I need to work on my game, for some reason I can't do approaches when I'm alone.

I went to scratch dog as well, I was the only farang there as well Big Grin

Went to climax, got approached by working girls

Went to mixx, got approached by working girls

Levels is more like 50% mix of working and 50% mix of normal girls.

I'm your typical loser in the club, I lay back and drink looking at the girls hoping that someone approaches me.
Is Victory Monument a good location to stay for a month in an appartment? I prefer Online and Daygame, so I don't necessarily need to be close to the Sukhumvit clubs. I just need some coffeeshops, malls and nice bars for dates (i read good things about coco walk?).

It is cheap and cheerful. Not been to Coco Walk but I think it's a bit like JJ Green market (near Chatachuk) full of Thai girls, but you may need to speak Thai.

Victory Monument is.. interesting.

Being on the BTS line and basically the hub of BKK's bus system gives you good chance to move around the city and you're only 10-15 mins from Sukhimvit and Siam Square and you also have the benefit of being able to jump on a bus to some other little known places in Bangkok like Pak Kret or even further afield to other cities like Hua Hin or Ayyutaya.

There is a large middle income population here and alot of the girls you would meet in places like Siam / Sukhimvit etc. actually live around here. You have the logistics here of a quick ride to Mo Chit where Chatuchak markets there are also some excellent chain restuarants (Look up Eat I Am; really good). You've also got a few laid back bars like Saxophone (I actually dont know the names of others but I have seen them) and lots of cheapish noodle stalls. If you got a good price then by all means - go through it.

Did you find someone to let you an apartment for 1 month or did you use AirBNB.

This is also a good point. This is the heartland of middle class Thailand where English proficiency usually varies from horrible to passable. Don't expect any meaningful conversations unless you are very lucky.
Im considering moving to Lad Prao next year

I heard you can find lots of girls from ramkhamhaeng university there

is that true? how fast can you get from central lad prao to the university?

Im very interested in the african exchange students, do they hang out in lad prao too?

would be cool if someone can drop some intel on this neighbourhood, afarang havent you been living there?

Thanks, I already figured that I will have good logistics there. There are also a lot of girls on TF who live in Lad Prao, which should be close as well. You guys mentioned the language. Are you talking about potential girls I'll meet there or the people in general? My Thai is very limited, but I think I can manage it. I spent the last 2 weeks in Sulawesi where no one could speak any english. So as long as I stick to Online Game and Daygame in Siam and Sukhumvit, I think I will be fine.

About the price: I found this one here: http://en.9apartment.com/detail-en/?Apar...0213483411

14k for one month sounds a little expensive to me. Any thoughts on that appartment? Is it worth the price?

And can anyone recommend good websites to find appartments in BKK? On craigslist are a lot of studios in On Nut, but that's it. I am not sure about On Nut. To me it seems a little far from the action and more like a nightgame destination. But maybe I am wrong about that.

I was living near there for over 4 months. There are a lot of girls (soi 26 I think the uni is at) but I am not sure how they will feel talking to you while hundreds of other uni students watch at a distance judging them for it. It really doesn't matter where you stay in relation to "finding girls", they really are everywhere.

Lad prao is busy as hell, don't expect to go anywhere after 7pm unless you are close to the MRT or like to use motsi's. I lived just outside the soi and sometimes it took well over an hour to get into Sukhumvit with a taxi after 5pm. On the other hand, it is cheap, there's a lot of food options, girls and is a fun little place. MRT is close by (depending on where you live in the soi ) and a few malls not to far away.

Check my site (sig) I have listed a few budget condos on my site. Month to month is going to cost you a lot more than 3-6-12 month contracts. I Would say 14k is too much, but for a month to month it's okay I guess.

FWIW there are hundreds of apartments in VC, many will not have websites, so it may be best to get a hotel for 2 nights and find a girl from TF to scout place with you, as you will need someone to speak Thai. You will be able to find studio rooms for under 10k that are clean and basic IMO near VC.
Coco Walk is a great date spot, but not a good place to meet girls.
Victory Monument is a cool location. Some nice bars around (Skytrain Bar, Saxophone...), some coffee Shops for day-dates and lots of restaurants. Also some small and cheap malls. It is convenient for traveling around BKK and great for spontaneuous weekend-trips thanks to the minivan station. But it is also very, very busy.

VP Tower is alright. The building is nice but quiet old. You are paying for the convenient location and to be able to live there on a monthly basis. The street there has lots of coffee shops, restaurants and bars and it is only 3 Minute walk to the BTS. Perfect place to meet dates during the day or at night and bounce them back to your place.

Lots of University chicks around Victory Monument all the time, as many of the minivans are leaving from there to the suburbs. But dont expect to spot many hotties during the days, as these girls around there do not come from money.

The closer you come to Phaya Thai and Coco walk, which is in walking distance, the more hot girls are living around there, but that does not mean that you actually meet them during the day. They stay in there condos, malls or cars. There is the best private high school learning center and it is close to Siam and Chula University.

Two more stops in the other direction is Ari, probably the best place to live around the skytrain. Quiet, lots of great restaurants, and chilled bars. But also expensive for rent. I think the Noble condos around the BTS start at around 25k for a month and 12 year contract...

Woots, you could just move to Ramkhamhaeng if you want to game at the university. You are going to get the real Thai experience and will save lots of money on accomodation, food and drinks. There is probably more going on than in Lad Phrao (the best places in Lad Phrao are far off the MRT anyway) and you are faster in Thong Lo and Ekkamai whenever you desire more upscale and western places. But mind you, girls there are more conservative too.

I am all in for day gaming, but dont agree that you can meet hot girls everywhere. You probably see more hotties (Thai standards) during a 30min visit at Siam Paragon or another expensive mall then the whole day at Victory Monument, Lad Phrao and Ramkhamhaeng together.
Ladprao is a nice enough area, I lived there my first 3 or 4 months in Bangkok.

I was between Major Ratchayothin and Central Ladprao(which is right next to MRT Phahon Yothin), walking distance from both. I don't know where Ramkhamhaeng Uni is exactly, but both malls are packed with university girls most of the time since Kasetsart is near there.

Central Ladprao and Major are both good for day game, but I'd suggest checking out Union Mall right across the street from Central.
If you're going to be there in January make sure to go to Kaset Fair at Kasetsart Uni. (north up Phahon Yothin from Major Ratchayothin, turn left on Ngamwongwan, it'll be on the right)

I was paying 9000 baht/month for a pretty nice apartment, about a 5 minute walk from Major. You could get a better price with some Thai, or by having a Thai friend call them.
^^ This. I loved living in that area. Union Mall is insane for girls. Really good shopping too.
@libertad1312:

Do you know any cheaper apartments around Victory Monument? I am going there today with a girl from TF to look for cheaper options.
There are some cheaper places if you walk further down the street ran nam and then turn right into one of the small sois.

You always pay much more if you are just renting on a monthly Basis. Considering this fact and the good location it is already a decent deal.
Plus, VP Tower has a swimming pool and it is fucking hot right now. I think I am gonna go with it. Thanks to everyone helping me out.

Oh yea, I love Union. Used to go there 3 or 4 times a week after class.
Anyone ever lived around Sathorn? One of my girls had a condo there right next to The Metropolitan/Nahm, was a pretty nice place, little far to walk to the MRT though.

She said it cost about 9M baht, no idea how much it'd cost to rent but it'd be a nice enough place to stay long term.
(06-25-2014 10:18 AM)Afarang Wrote: [ -> ]Not sure if this board gets a lot of black members, but I found the first exclusive black club in Bangkok. Its on soi 4, the girls were 75% thai (p4p mostly) and the rest black girls.

The male ratio were 100% black people, expect for me and my 3 friends who joined. I forgot the name of the club, J-electirc or something, free entry, very close to annies soapy.

It's called G Terminal and it's packed with Africans as mentioned. They first opened about a year ago, and it's grown to be one of the most popular places for Africans. They even paid to keep open most nights during the curfew periods. Fun, shady after hours place with two pool tables and a VIP area. A lot of the crowd in Velvet(suk33) moves on to G Terminal for the after party, or at least they used to before the army started running the show. Not the kind of place you go without a girl or two on your arm already. Ah, the amount of crazy you can see in there during a night is insane. I actually ended up DJ'ing for two nights, probably the first ever white boy DJ there tard

Sathorn is a cool area though it's an absolute clusterfuck of sois and sub sois. It is relatively cheap and if you're in the right area you can be very close to the MRT or Silom which has BTS as well. It's basically the commercial centre of BKK, lots of hot Chinese-Thai finance types in the day time, but gets damn rough (and gay) at night time.

You should be able to find yourself a nice studio or 1 bedder for under 15,000 THB a month. That's with a view and all of the trimmings. Or else you could find a dungeon for much less then that.
Bit off topic but how many of you who frequently visit Bangkok, and Thailand in general, received hepatitis B immunization? I recently had Hepatitis A and Typhoid shots as those were the only ones strongly recommended by my doctor but the fact that hep B is spread through sexual intercourse is a bit of a worry.
I never did.

I didn't do any immunisations actually. Statistically the likelihood of gastro is much higher than any tropical diseases. If you do want to get your immunisations, wait until you get to Thailand as you'll be 90% less. From memory they are $300+ in Australia.

I thought you guys had free healthcare? Damn that's a lot.

Thailand is prob cheaper but some of these injections take 2-3 weeks to come into affect.

I never heard of anyone getting any of the things mentioned, but when people do they usually keep it to themselves.
Heading to Bangkok for the first the first leg of a holiday for few nights on the 22nd - This thread has some pretty good info. It's probably already been posted [But I couldn't find it] - Whats the situation like with ID's: I don't really want to take my passport out & last time I went I never got ID checked.

Everywhere will ask for ID, even if you look 45. Driver's license is fine, my friend one got in by showing them a picture of his passport on his mobile phone at Funky Villa, however, I don't recommend anyone doing this as it's very hit and miss.
