I'll be in Bangkok for a month at the most, so hopefully somewhere that is OK with a short-term membership.

Check out Tony's gym, about 5 minutes walk from BTS Asok / Terminal 21. Heavy dumbells and barbell equipment. They have a promotion on at the moment too, 69 baht per visit or 900 baht for 1 month.

Short term memberships are hard to find.

I would recommend True Fitness in Asoke Tower, very central and excellent equipment, but not sure if they allow 1 month memberships. I do know that the Fitness First Platinum in Landmark Hotel at Nana BTS has 1 month memberships but its around $100 for a month.

There are plenty of other gyms including the option to pay pr. time, which is expensive, around $15 in most places. If you're adventerous you can try finding a gym in one of the Thai residential areas, but they often don't have heavy weights.
There used to be on in Waterford Diamond (Sukhmvit soi 39?), muay thai gym but good heavy free weights also. Dumbells to at least 40kg, racks and benches, etc. I paid 1500 baht a month, monthly basis no contract.

It beat the overpriced chains by a long shot. Was usually pretty empty too.

One thing I dont like about gyms in Asia is the high concentration of creepy dudes checking you out, not-so-secretly taking pictures of you on there phones, etc. I liked the W-D gym because it's largely free of that - seemed to be mainly muay thai boxers or Waterford residents minding their own business.
I am a member of the Racket Club. Has everything and offer 1 month contracts. 4,000 baht though for 1 month.

I think the Waterford is between Soi 32-28 IIRC.
A little travelogue for those stuck elsewhere....

Arrived in BKK after midnight Sunday night, and got to the Westin around 1Am. The Westin in under Asok BTS, a good central location. It does seem that in some places, the curfew has lightened up, but I wasn't sure, so given that I got plenty of rest on my flights from the US, I had energy to go out...but I wanted to keep it close because I thought places would be closing shortly.

Right across the street is insanity.. which generally is a freelancer club. But given it was Sunday almost closing time, I figured I'd have a look. Threw on a change of clothes and was inside the place within minutes of leaving the hotel.

I did a few rounds, the club being mostly empty, and scouted the place out. Mostly white foreigners, middle-eastern guys and thai freelancers hanging around at this point. Also two western land whales grinding up on the stage in the middle.

After a recent inspiring conversation offline with Dreambig, i resolved to raise the bar and go for threeways more often, especially in the philippines, but in this circumstance, what presented made it make sense as well.

I insta-winged with this Ukrainian guy who turned out to be an asshole. He ended up talking to this one girl, and I was talking to her friend. Both freelancers, but pleasant to talk to and not bad looking (actually his was better). After leaving the bar with them (there were perhaps twenty five people in the whole place that weren't staff), we went to eat at the Thai joint street side on the right when you leave insanity. At this point this Ukranian became annoying enough and rude enough that the girls were ready to just go home rather than try to work for their money. It was also at this point that I decided to take both girls, one way or the other, and leave this asshole to himself.

I communicated to the girls my distaste for this guys line of BS, rude as it was. At that point, the girl I was with told me that we should leave to my hotel, and that her friend was going to go home, even though the Ukranian guy was openly inviting her to his swimming pool and alternately negotiating a "rate" at the table. The girls, looking more and more uncomfortable, followed me when I got up and started walking towards my hotel. So did dickhead. I convinced them to come to my hotel, where we could talk about whether to try to go out elsewhere, or where they could get a cab (there were of course plenty of cabs in from of Insanity). When we got to my room, I told the girls to relax on the bed, and gently and firmly informed the guy that he was a fifth wheel and should leave. Within ten minutes, he took the hint, stopped his moronic banter and left me with the two. At this point, I figured on one of two options (1) threeway shore or (2) just let them sleep here or leave (it was now around 4) and see if anything happened. So the first night, I didn't pay, did not close, ended up lightly fooling around with both of them, and fell asleep. I didn't want to budge and pay, so it didn't happen, but hey, training wheels. Maybe next time. They grabbed my dick a few times to check it out, but I didn't want to escalate without the prior understanding that I wasn't paying. Never got there but fine. They didn't try to take anything, and let me sleep in the middle.

The second night Innuendo and I met at Oskar on Soi 11, across from levels. We had some dinner and shot the shit for a while, while the bar girls caroused and scoped the foreigner clientele. He's a good guy and has a lot of intel and stories, so the night passed quickly. Finally discarding the one normal girl (we think in the place) because she was so fucking boring, Innuendo headed home and I decided to check levels out. I'd been there only once but didn't go in as the place was closed b/c of the curfew.

I walked in and within five minutes I got opened by a cute thai girl in a white dress. Solid 6-7 face, fair skin, better body, though she could have been a bit firmer (in that common asian way, she could work out a little and have a great, rather than good, body). She opened me, I escalated with the interesting guy game I do, and she was hooked.

As I've read in this space a few times, I ended up with her in her girlfriend's car at 2AM, no idea where, this crazy thai girl speeding and saying that she was a good driver, and we ended up at Mix. First time I was there, me and this girl hooking up, her drinking too much...I liked Mix actually, totally random mix of people and decent music. I saw a bunch of the bar girls from Oskar/Levels show up later. My girl was trying to qualify herself to me, telling me about where she'd lived, her BMW (which it seemed was given to her by an ex-boyfriend oil trader with whom she lived in Dubai and Ajerbajian). Anyway, Mix closes, and she comes back to my hotel. Anticipated an extended session so popped a cialis. Very organsmic girl, decent head, and ended up staying until this evening and fucking every few hours. I ran out of condoms and she actually called the Westin front desk in the AM and ordered more from room service. Whatever. Classy, right.

She left around seven, left her earrings here, and then I met Rio, Innuendo and Truth Seeker out for dinner in Thong Lo street market on soi 38. Good dudes, good food, good convo.

I got a lot of tinder matches but not a tremendous amount of quality other than a russian-american jewish girl I chatted with but who I frankly don't have time to meet (headed to Sri Lanka in the early morning). Tinder seems very hit or miss, lots of ladyboys, I did a fly by on DIA but didn't feel like putting any time in- rather be out on the street.

BKK - fun as usual, my balls are completely empty for the moment, and I feel like I'd love another few days here. The beat goes on.

Second the Racket Club if you can afford it. Also has a nice outdoor pool and right close to the Thong Lor bars and eateries for an after workout drink.
Waterford is on Sukhumvit 30/1. It's where I lift and the best gym I've found in BKK, and I've checked out quite a few.

2 squat racks with adjustable pins. Dumbbells up to 100lbs. Multiple flat and adjustable benches. Pull up/dip bar station. Legit machines like chest supported t-bar rows, couple lat pulldowns, sitting cable row, etc. Allow deadlifts and I even use chalk, I just clean it up. Also a nice swimming pool and showers.

Haggle and you can get 1 month for 3,000 I believe.

Go to Thonglor BTS and tell the motorbike taxi Waterford. 20 baht. 10th floor.

Be careful when you leave if you walk towards Phrom Pong BTS. You'll pass the Japanese massage soi and after some heavy deadlifts it's a real bitch to pass up those Thai girls in short skirts offering hand jobs for $30 a pop. You've been warned.
Landed in BKK about 10 days ago, loving it so far. Staying in a condo right by the Thong Lo BTS. I've been having success on TF both here and in Phuket before getting here but that isn't translating at all into solo night game. I'm an early 20's high stakes poker player and I own a restaurant in the States, would love to meet up with one of you bkk pros and get shown the ropes. Drinks on me of course. Hit me up if you're free.
Night game was really shit for me in BKK the last few months.

Highlight was fucking a halfie Swedish/Thai 18 year old. I think mini relationships might be a better course of action these days. Doesn't help that the government is demonising nightlife the last 8 months, might keep some talent in at night.
Went to Tony's fitness by asoke today. For 69 baht per visit, you can't go wrong.
The top floor has 1 flat bench, 1 incline bench, a squat rack, and dumbbells up to 100 lbs. Didn't go on the other 2 floors but I suspect that the other floor has machines, and the first floor has cardio.
Only downside was that they didn't have any Olympic bars , just the little dinky ones so that might feel a bit weird if you're not familiar with them. I was pretty much the only person there, will be going back for sure.
Also, in the midday heat, it feels like a 30 min walk from the bts.

Who walks anywhere in Bangkok. Motorbike taxis is the way to go.

I walked a load while in Bangkok, all those short bike/taxi/tuk-tuk rides add up and honestly I couldn't be bothered haggling with them most of the time. The humidity, beggers and general pollution does make it an extremely uncomfortable place to walk though.
I actually liked walking around in Bangkok. Especially at night time as it felt the city became more alive at that time. Sure the heat was unbearable but I just loved the atmosphere.
There is usually a few schools of thought to this. Some do it to save money, others do it because they like walking and seeing the craziness around.

Others prefer to pay for convenience, are lazy or get too sweaty that they would rather pay than walk.

Depending on the day and season I fall under all of them.
Come April I aint walking more than 3 steps from my front door to a motorbike taxi.

Yup, walking down sukhumvit at night is an event in and of itself. Last night I stumbled upon this bar set up right on the side walk on the corner of asoke (I think). Had a beer and played some connect 4 vs some girls who were probably boys.

I think I'd walk less if I were staying here for longer (more than 1 month). For now, everything is new and exciting, so I don't mind the walking much.
^^Exactly only problem is I have never truly experienced Bangkok by myself, I always had someone holding my hand guiding me through the city. I need to experience all the highs and lows by myself
Not sure if I posted this but may be of use to some people.

The rooms are right next to Thong Lo BTS. The rooms are all new but the beds are a bit hard. Good value for short-term monthly rentals, esp given how little the deposit is. Not great value for 3-6 months stays as you can find better value rooms, but short stays it's pretty sweet. I got pictures if anyone is interested I can upload them. Feel free to ask.

I also reviewed out Paleo Robbie if anyone is interested in ordering healthy food in Bangkok.
Hit up RCA last night, good fun but didnt pull, lights on and music off at 1:50am which was disappointing. I asked taxi drivers what after hour clubs are open they said all are closed, bkk nightlife is getting soft.
Altitude is open until 4AM Wednesday to Saturday. Taxi drivers don't get a commission there so they don't want to take you there, or don't know about it.
Mixx was open til four Am or so on a Monday night, and had a decent crowd. It seemed like the place didn't get started until late and most girls there I'd seen at Levels earlier that night.
Any other clubs in addition to Altitude open late? I'm not a big fan of MIxx; too many pros.
Only been in Bangkok a few days, but yeah it's one hell of a city. Think I stuck my dick in a crazy not long after I landed... Tinder matches exploded when I arrived but filtering out actually hot DTF girls is more of a mission. Still. Went to Route 66 with some tinder chick and her friend, got too wasted but had a great time. When it closed we went to Mixx with finished 4ish. One of the girls invited another English guy off Tinder, turned out to be a right legend, decent wingman and source of chaos..

Met some real solid guys from the forum in Chiang Mai. So if anyone in Bangkok is down hang out or needs a wing drop me a message. It's always a laugh swapping experiences and insights.
Hit up levels on Sunday night at 1:30am. Was opened by a hot number that caused havoc the rest of the night (she managed to get two other farang who were with a couple farang girls kicked out of the club). Levels closed at 3:45am and she suggested we bounce to another club. I offered altitude or scratch dog, but an Irish guy, who seemed to know when most of the clubs closed, confirmed what Rio Nomad said about Altitude closing at 4am. Apparently Climax and Thong Poon were the only 2 clubs still open. I hate Climax so we took a taxi to Thong Poon which was closed. The girl was hungry so we stopped for some food and were joined by a couple of her friends and some English guy they showed up with. The young English guy turned out to be a real loser. He constantly boasted that he was staying in an executive Condo with 2 pools near Nature Park, (Nothaburi?) even though he didn't have any money in his pocket when the check arrived. Our 5 am snack ended abruptly when my girl reached over to give me a kiss and she let out a short shriek. The English guy had his hand down his pants and was jerking off at the streetside restaurant table. It was one of the strangest things I had ever seen.

Well it doesn't surprise me. The expat community in Bangkok is fucked up.

Did you end up getting the bang?
