Damn, can't believe that RCA is still going strong after all these years... In BKK for two days (Sunday afternoon -Tuesday morning). You think Sunday and Monday nights are OK for picking up, RioNomad?
Yeah, there should still be a decent crowd at Route. Basically any day of the week there is good.

RCA has been open for 20+ years. I think they had their 20 year anniversary party a while back. I hear they are expanding soon too. Or maybe not expanding, just moving down one space to the left.

Thanks for the quick reply. I have a local chick that I hang out with, but she's still undecided whether or not she's going to be in Singapore that weekend I'm there, so I will definitely look into Route if I'm running solo.

Damn, 20 years... I guess that's longevity for you.
lol... that guy reminds me of this guy!

Except he is being serious. Some fucking delicious sideboob in the second video though.

It's owned by the Royal Family, just for some perspective.
Went to Route 66 last night, stood outside in a pair of Canvas Khakis and a cotton shirt.

Was fucking dripping. The body heat there anytime between March and December is fucking horrendous when couple with the actual humidity.

Dmario, totally would reccomend against any sort of a blazer, you'll end up stinking like I did last night. I can take heat when I'm standing still, but this was something different, I was having streaks of sweat going down my legs. It was about the 80% of a sauna.
It's going to be super hot now for the next few months until September/October. Defo not wearing any blazers unless you score a table inside
Great write up. Im looking at staying in BKK for 2 weeks after a week stop over in Phuket.

Staying in a hotel for longer than a week is going to smash my funds, are there any short term condos that you could recommend for a 2 week period that is close to the action?
Upper Sukhimvit has heaps of places around $30US a night some even lower, also close to the BTS and 10 mins by Taxi to RCA /Sukhimvit 11

Thanks CodyB
Found this nice pad that is pretty close to the action..... well i think it is. BKK is a clusterfuck to look at on a map.

It is, but just follow the MRT and BTS lines. Don't go south of the River (Though it's not too bad) and don't go north of Lat Phrao, west of Victory Monument and East of Bang Na.

That is a cracking location for the price. You are very close to the RLDs so keep that in mind if you want to be away from it.

Yeh I noticed doing a Google Maps search that DR BJ's is only a few streets over. Confused

Its tucked away in a quiet alley from what i can see far enough from the action to not be a bother.
Not sure if you are into drugs or not but be warned that police often check westerns at Soi 23 from 11pm onwards. So if you're into that kind of stuff perhaps don't take anything out with you during the night.

I have been stopped twice and been thoroughly searched. Both times I was in a taxi and told to get out. I had nothing on me but they searched through my wallet and pockets. Obviously I was let go both times and carried on home.
It's between Petchaburi and Asok, so Dr Bjs is more than a few streets over, thank fuck!

Try getting a girl back to your place if you live anywhere close to Nana BTS!!

I wouldnt even think of running the risk of being in possession of anything illegal in Thailand. Especially after what has been happening recently in the media with Australians and drug possession in Asian countries.

The place is located of Soi23 Link So im not sure whether based on the location whether it is a good place to pull a girl back to or is close enough to places like RCA.
I honestly don't think it's a great area to stay. Very much in the red light district and many girls will have exceptions going to a place like that. Try for Ekkamai - Thonglor. It's seen as an elite area.
Thai girls always joke with me about going to Nana. I'd think that staying there really will get girls thinking about your real mission in BKK, although it shouldn't stop you from getting laid.

Lots of cheap places at Ekkamai, and taxis in Bangkok are essentially free. You should be able to negotiate on Airbnb to 40$/day pretty easily.
Above all else, it's just a fucking zoo. Traffics fucked, taxis won't use the meter and when you walk the street you get harassed without fail.

Ekkamai is great, especially the sukhimvit portion. The BTS's are spaced about 1km apart on average and you can get to T21 area in about 7 minutes.

In fact, today I got from Terminal 21 to Thonglor Soi 8 in 11 minutes using combination of BTS and Motorbike taxi. Not too mention the streets aren't chaotic up that end and there are plenty of cute cafes or trendy bars you can bounce or invite your bitch too before you seal the deal.
How long is he here for? if only a week it's prob a better area than TL/Ekkamai given how close he is to everything - long term stay would be better elsewhere. The good thing about Asoke is you can just walk and find a bar or somewhere to eat, Thong Lo and Ekkamai are a bit harder to navigate as a newb.

Indeed Asoke is a total zoo but not the worst place to stay for someone here on a short-stay (assuming here's he for less than 2 weeks). I feel the pros outweigh the cons. If you have been to Bangkok before and know how things work, then yeah for sure stay in TL/Ekkamai, if you don't Asoke is prob a better starting point for your first trip.

Getting a taxi is not that hard during the day, when the sun goes down then yeah he will need to walk to Soi 25 or further to get a metered cab. However, the BTS/MRT is there and of motosi drivers who will take him to the end of the soi for 10 baht.

I disagree that girls wouldn't want to go back there. They will go back anywhere, to be safe just tell them you live in Asoke and don't mention the Soi. You will be fine.
To add to my comment: if you really do hate RLD areas and can't stand them, then do not stay in Asoke. You will walk past dodgy massages and guys with freelancers all the time.
Ok, after 6 days in Bangkok, and 4 pulls, here are some observation of mine (I usually have dinner dates, and then at 11pm hit the club):
- All girls want to meet for dinner dates! It turned out to be really hard to meet them for lunch or coffee. And i don't have enough time to meet all girls that want to see me for dinner. Even girls that don't reply to my other messages suddenly reply when i just text "let's go for dinner."
- Appointments here are for the same evening. very different to japan, where i usually have to plan several days or even weeks ahead.
- Tinder: got enough replies, but the quality was a bit lower from what i can get in the club.
- CS: considering the other options, maybe not worth the time. The girls i met were a bit conservative. Took a 2nd date to get one couchsurfer.
- RCA (friday), Mixx (saturday), Kudeta (Wednesday): got one from each home. it was a bit of work to find a girl that hooked, but once she hooked, she never let me go, and was not resisting at all to go home with me in the end of the night.
- Sunday we went to Soi 11 (Monday was a holiday), I think a lot of freelancers here. Oskar only hookers. 'Levels' had a couple of non-hookers (i think), albeit a bit older.
- Tuesday we went to KSR (i was told sunday - tuesday RCA is few people). Bricks bar was indeed mostly thai, but loud, and most people on the dancefloor. Mulligans had only one girl i would have liked but her friend was too ugly to ask my friend to go into that set. We went to 'the club', there was only one girl i liked, i was dancing with her but then she was going home alone. Anyway, i hope to see her again, she was very sweet. Funny also, all the backpackers are really no competition, one hot girl, and they don't try, are too drunk, or hit on ugly female backpackers.
- Also rich girls are open minded here. I met this girl, she paid my dinner in an expensive restaurant when i was on the toilet, has a couple of shops all over the city, afterwards she excused herself for not having enough time to go to my hotel with me. Promises it will happen when she gets back from her business trip.
- It is really hard to tell if a girl is a ladyboy. yesterday met a girl with big fake tits, got worried, she had to show me her id, said "Miss", all good. Seems she is doing some show on TV.
- I had some really stunners here. Amazing.
If you're in Asoke and want a taxi in the evening, just walk over in front of the Westin - there are typically taxis waiting in or next to their traffic circle. Its right downstairs from the Asoke BTS stop. If you're foreign and/or well dressed, no way the doorman will even ask if you're staying in the hotel, they'll just flag down the cab for u. Drop him 30 Baht if you want to be a hot shot.

Fantastic info on this data sheet. Question for anyone, how are american born asians treated by the local girls?

Obviously they'll know you're not local, but how does your treatment differ from the treatment of white foreigners?
I don't know how it is personally, but it should be good. Some girls will probably prefer foreign born Asians to white guys, and some probably won't, but overall it should be good.
