Can anyone recommend me a good apartment for a short-term stay around Asoke? This place looks dope but they seem tight about bringing guests in (and every other listing from this condo says the same).. https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/21973000?ch...2018-03-21

Overnight guests will be fine, when the airbnb owner writes what they did they mean no full time guests, like you subletting to someone else and giving them the keycard, or it actually being 10 arab guys living in her condo. There was a famous case of that happening http://www.holiday-pattaya.com/2016/05/c...-room.html

That would get her in legal trouble for operating an illegal hotel. Airbnb owners are already breaking the law (not that I care) if they rent daily, that's also why she writes 'any questions contact me directly don't go to condo reception' lol. Lots of bangkok condos have 'no daily rental' signs downstairs nowadays because of the rise of airbnb. This is probably one of them, usually it's fancy places. I've seen those signs at Noble Remix Thonglor, Ideo Mobi, Ideo Mix, The Trendy Condominium, and the Base in Pattaya. Saw the signs while I stayed there on Airbnb. Had no issues, and took many girls there.

It's a non-issue it if it's just one person who has good feedback on Airbnb staying there (you), and one Thai girl with him at a time. That doesn't look suspicious. Even if it's a different girl every time, security is used to that in Bangkok.

She just wants to make sure you don't let a ton of other MEN in full time and get her in trouble. It's ok to break the law if it's just a little bit and she doesn't get caught basically. And she can't explain in the listing - 'hey just be discreet ok because I'm breaking the hotel act and immigration act' - because that will scare some people off. Instead she skirts around the subject 'hey it's not a hotel so don't talk to reception', 'only you stay there I can see you have good feedback', etc.

You can safely still book that place.
Thanks a lot for your input.
Yo,

Been in Thailand the last two months and it's treated me very well. I'll be in BKK for the next week then probably head south. Would be cool to meet up with some fellow players from the forum while I'm here.

Also, where are the good bars/clubs. All the ones mentioned (like Route 66) are old and apparently played out...

PM me gents.

Cheers.
I will be rolling through mid January after a few days in Tokyo. Looks like there are always members around, I hope to meet up with a few to celebrate my birthday with.
Man, wishing I was back in Bangkok right about now.

I decided to venture down to Phuket and Phi Phi over Christmas/New Years, and so far it has been a complete shit-show. After 8 girls in 10 days in Bangkok and plenty of options, I’ve been relegated to very limited targets. Phuket was completely full of families and couples. Some very attractive girls around, but ALL with their boyfriends. Except for NYE, which was slightly better, I could easily count on one hand the amount of single 6/10+ girls I saw each night. I managed to snag a cute Russian girl but that was it for Phuket.

Just got to Phi Phi yesterday for the first time in a couple of years, and first thing I see is a McDonalds right by the pier lol. Went out last night and everything shut down by 1am. Once again, not much quality around? Maybe I’m taking the wrong approach. Any experienced Phi Phi goers here?
^^ I left Koh Phi Phi on the 1st — it was my second time there; but I wouldn't call myself a Phi Phi expert by any means.

The Phi Phi demographic was pretty much Phuket compressed, I dunno why the fuck families and retiree couples would go there.

I stayed a night in Phuket out of circumstance, there wasn't a whole lot to do being at Old Town, but I gamed a Russian girl earing on her own at a pub who eventually had "to go back to hotel" (sic).

I thought I'd had my work cut out for me rolling solo, but another RVFer advised me on a game plan. Fate threw me line on my first night, when I winged a New Zealand dude trying to game a Swedish 2 set on his own at 2am.

I managed to find Russians who seemingly were without a husband/boyfriend/sponsor but with one exception, they were frigid as fuck. I thought I did well with Slavic birds.
The quality on Phi Phi was a step up from your Phuket experience if for the influx of Scandinavian quality on the island. I opened a Finnish three set playing pool on NYE midday, and made plans to meet them that night. We did get together, after I had found two other aussie guys to wing me, but lost all of them in the crowd.

After approaching like a mofo, I ended up getting my New Year's kiss, with a 7.5 English blonde, whom I realised given the situation was a hair's breadth away from banging haha.

Game-wise, I think it's hard to generalise Phi Phi's difficulty or ease. I got lucky whereas the two Americans I hung out with earlier — ripped as fuck, one of them was 6'1" and blond — struck out hard.

I may have pulled if I'd stayed a bit longer, but part of me wanted to get the fuck out.
I loved Phi Phi! Nothing but easy Dutch and Swedish girls there that were easy to lay. Relax and sleep during the day and party hard at Night. Just grab a girl when the music comes on and dance. It's actually a good thing music shuts down around 2am as you don't spend the wee hours of the morning hoping she won't be too tired to bang. By 1am you will be able to pull her back to your place.
Last night wasn’t so bad. Ended up taking back a 24 year old English girl, who approached me. The party itself was a little better too, although maybe drinking more alcohol helped with that.

Kind of getting tired of banging 6’s and 7’s though, and my dick is feeling the same way. Struggled to get it up. Need to go somewhere where I can step up the quality, and Thailand isn’t it at the moment.
Fellas, serious question- is the food worth going to bangkok a lone for if your a huge thai food guy. Im not a far flight away. would be going more for amazing cheap fresh spicy veggie dishes than gals

I am not a huge fan of Thai cuisine but obviously there can't be a better place for it than Bangkok? Just take some time to do research as not everywhere has "amazing fresh dishes". It's not like Japan where you can eat pretty much everywhere.
The food in Thailand might be the best value in the world. Great restaurants Thai and not Thai.

However for the quality, I didn't find the Thai food in Thailand to be much better than anywhere else.

For a foodie, Bangkok is as good as it gets if you are not mega rich. You may pay $30- $50 for excellent meals that would be double in many other countries.
I'm arriving tomorrow. Hit me up if anyone is around.
Went on a date with a thai who was studying in Australia. Holy crap her attitude and whining was off the chart, how coming back home was terrible and the local guys stink. Had one drink and bounced. She even had the gall to say what no dinner? I laughed, this was a very soft 5.5 in real life. Never, ever date a girl who's studied in the land down under, just avoid.

Australia seems to turn any decent girl into shits. It was a random encounter a couple of weeks ago when the Singapore RVF group, some of whom live overseas, came back for the holidays. We randomly opened a set that turned out to be a Korean. At 30, she looked more like 40, with bad skin and fashion. She spent 10 years in Australia, ruined her.

Met 2 J girls just this weekend that spent a year in Brisbane, one had a mini belly while the other, thankfully didnt change much. I took the number of the latter and will be meeting her when I head back to Tokyo.
I don't think, in general, studying abroad Turns Thai chicks bad at all. I've messed with a few repatriates over the year, all of whom picked up more good habits in the west than bad.

If you met your Chick on tinder though, a lot of the "serial daters" can go through half a dozen guys in a month. A lot of the time they're just using it for free shit.

I don't agree with this.

Thai food in Thailand, is so much more diverse in selection. The North-East and the Southern Food especially is not found outside of Thailand, so you must have really limited yourself to where you ate.

And I find the best quality:price ratio is in the cheaper foods <300thb for a few dishes. Good western food is more expensive than it is in Europe or Australia and it's not as good.

E.g. a good steak in Australia can be easily found for 750-1,500thb. In Thailand, start at 1,500.

You mean vegetarian dishes right?

Really depends how strict a vegetarian you are.

Most Thai eateries don't have a concept of what 'Vegetarianism' actually is. If you say no meat they'll still put dried shrimp and oyster sauce in the dish.

There is Buddhist Vegetarian food which I hate with a passion, it's a lent-time food that encourages lack of taste.

If you weren't worried about anything but good, cheap vegetarian food give Kuala Lumpur a whirl. South Indian Vegetarian food is incredible - this is coming from someone who considers anything less than 100g of red meat on his plate to be subpar.
Just arrived back in the ole BKK yesterday.

Strip
Heading to Bangkok next week for 1-2 months. How much time would you leave for pipelining? I plan 3-4 days, already got some matches.
Also, looking for meeting some cool dudes while there!
@Beyond Borders how long are you staying there?
Arriving Monday and staying for a week.

@self amused are you using Thai Friendly?
Tinder should be enough. I'll just do daygame and bit of nightgame as well.

Agree and disagree.

True to form as an international city, you can find cuisines from almost everywhere in the world and a few more besides. The usual suspects like Italian, Greek, Japanese, Lebanese, then Ethiopian, Georgian, Afghan and so on.

Where it falls short are it's authenticity with more mainstream Western cuisines. It's been disappointing trying to order a full breakfast and finding the bacon to be overfried strips that are little more than gristle, or sausages that are puny frankfurters. Coming from Australia, I've been really dissatisfied with the portions of Western meals in Thailand. Unless you go to a restaurant that specialises in it, a good steak is hard to come by on Western menus there, and the sides are tacky iceberg lettuce and crinkle-cut edged cucumber slices.

HuhHuh I dunno what sort of Thai food you ate to conclude that it's not much better than anywhere else. I'm using Australia as a benchmark, but I've found overseas Thai restaurants to consistently serve a very specific range of meals (read: green curry, red curry, massaman curry, stir fried pork/beef/chicken on rice, etc.) that hardly reflect the diversity of Thai cuisine, much of which can be found in BKK. I think 90% of tourists in BKK end up eating overpriced Pad Thai and Tom Yum when you can find hole-in-the-wall restaurants that serve delicious bowls of beef noodles for around 60 THB.
You can get good steaks in the expat supermarkets along with hideously overpriced Australian wine.

As far as I'm concerned there's "Thai food" which is in Thailand and some kind of weird imitation in all other countries.
I've been all around the world. All I can say is for a $5 meal or a $50 meal, I feel overall Bangkok has been the best for me. For the $30- $50 meal it was rarely Thai food. Had some great Chinese and Japanese food at that price point.

It has been almost 2 years since I've been in Thailand though and I think I've been there a total of 6-8 weeks in my entire life.
