Any tips on a good Muay Thai gym for a beginner in Bangkok please? This will be my first time trying out any martial art.
Any public parks with basketball courts or at least hoops in Bangkok (not indoor gyms)?

Any fancy (no preservatives, gluten-free, etc.) beef or pork jerky similar to Krave or Field Trip in the USA? In Big C or another supermarket?

Benjasiri park at the back on the right

The more western supermarkets like Villa market, Topsmarket, or gourmet food market at Emquartier mall maybe (near Benjasiri)

Can't speak for the teaching quality but a lot of hot chicks go to RSM in thonglor

Thank you. I wonder if it's ever busy or usually just empty. Also, is the park clean or kind of run down.
Usually very busy at Benjasiri, best to bring a team to challenge.

There's also Assumption University with more of a free for all street ball situation, but not easy to find. Lumpini park also has a bball court which can be less intimidating to join.
Thank you. I appreciate it. I was more looking for situations where want to play one-on-one basketball.

There's only one court in Benjasiri and it's usually taken by a local team, so you have to challenge or get in on the game if someone is missing a player. One on one I think Assumption probably best bet, but also quite a lot people there. If you just want to play with a friend, then there are places to rent a court. Check out Meetup.com perhaps, there used to be a baller group.
Appreciate it. I am far from a baller on the court, but I think that it would be a cool way to bond with some locals. I'm not really that good, so that's why 1 on 1 would probably be best for me. Maybe the renting a core option can work.
Sorry for the double post, but for those that have been to Bangkok many times, what food when purchased outside of a restaurant would you say has the least likelihood of getting someone sick?

Obviously we all have different stomachs, but there are certain universal truths that we are told to follow such as don't drink any water that is not bottled.

I still remember going to Bangkok years ago and it was the first time I ever learned about activated charcoal because I supposedly needed it to get rid of some parasite.

Sure, good idea, mind you it is HOT to play outside. Check out the places I mentioned, usually there's a group of foreigners and locals, you can ask around see if you can join a team.

I've never gotten ill from street food.

What you need to avoid are the restaurants with hidden kitchens serving foreigners. Don't eat at Khao San Road and places like that. I've been very ill, only from there and I've had hundreds of meals on street kitchens. An exception is the buffet kind places, particularly at stops when you're travelling in bus and such. Never eat at those. Generally if you see the food get made, then it is safe.

Yeah, skip the non-bottled water and keep in mind there are rats in Thailand and their feces can get on things, that's why plastic bottles have those extra layers, to protect against such things.
I'll use the " if I see meat get cooked right in front of me then it's probably safe" rule. Thank you.

I tried to be careful when I got sick all those years ago and the only thing that I ate from the street was pineapple on a stick. Now I don't even know if I can blame that anymore. It might have been something that I ate in a restaurant.
Anyone here know a bar where I can watch WWE Fastlane? In the US, it would air around 7 p.m. or 8 p.m. on Sunday evening. I know that I can watch it online if I subscribe to the WWE Network, but I was trying to see how any local fans interact with the product.
recently spotted this article describing farang women struggles in Thailand https://coconuts.co/bangkok/features/dat...ign-women/

Quote:For many long-term expat women living in Thailand, feeling attractive may only happen when they leave the country

Said Cara: “As soon as I leave the country, I get so much attention. In Europe, Australia, the Middle East. It’s unbelievable.”

Melody, 30, visited her home city in the US over the holidays. Her first Facebook status when she arrived read, “I forgot what it felt like to be hit on. I’m currently in JFK, standing at the exit, waiting for my parents and already four dudes have stopped by to say hello. I’ve missed you, New York.”

Kelly was in Taipei a few weeks ago and was shocked at the amount of attention she got. “In a bar, guys were looking at me. You get used to feeling unattractive or invisible in Thailand. Dating in Bangkok, I’ve learned to rely on my personality hard.”

So it seems they feel similar dynamic to what an average dude in the West experiencing on the daily basis, just the opposite.
And they didn't seem to like it as much, when they are the ones who need to allocate more effort.
I know female farang girl acquaintances that tell me of their friends leaving the city because its "too hard to date". If your a decent looking young fella this place IS the pussy paradise.
Funny how much farangs hate being invisible yet won’t change their beaviour to 80% of men. They just love when they get the attention and validation back.

I’m sure it even bothers them that men get so much attention in Thailand too, their pussy becomes worthless.

One thing they don't mention is that they rarely date Thai guys. The personality of Thai dudes is completely incompatible with Western Feminism. A lot of things that they can get away with in New York would get them beat in Thailand.

It's ironic since these women are the same ones running elected office as "anti-racist, its one-world, ban guns, #refugeeswelcome" candidates but they are acutely aware of the dating racial hierarchy in Thailand.

If I'm not mistaken, they even but together a Western Women's magazine in Bangkok. How to be a strong, independent, fat 35-year old schoolmarm. The women on the cover never looked very happy.
Anyone down to go out this weekend in Bangkok? Leaving Colombia for a bit. Getting in Saturday and looking to go out and see what I can get into.
Bangkok used to be full of these bitter attention starved farang females, but in recent years I've met more higher quality farang girls too. I've met several who were there on internships and were attractive and pleasent. Bangkok has changed it's expat clientele to some degree, there's much more of the "normal" young expat crowd now.
Also in BKK if anyone wants to chill

Mid-20s Korean-American guy, been here a few times
How's Route 66 on a sunday?
Went out last night to Demo

Summary: ONS rich girl

So last night I went out to the club Demo, which I had never been to before. The past times that I was in BKK I never went cuz I thought it was some club with Thai bands playing live music (even though I knew the girls were hot). Plus, I get laid every time I go to RCA lol

It's actually a pretty crazy EDM club, which is my style. Combined with the fact that there are hotties everywhere, it was great

Note: there weren't that many non-Asians... saw mostly Thais and Koreans here and there.

Before going, I went to Chinatown and had a shit ton of food, almost didn't feel like going out (would recommend checking it out - it's epic). But I tried to rally and hit up Mr. (natas)305. I wasn't even fully dressed up but YOLO, it was already getting late and I had no time to go back and change since I fucked up and booked an Airbnb in the middle of nowhere.

I meet natas and down a Red Bull before we get in a cab to go to Demo.
Turns out that it's kind of similar to RCA in that where Demo is located is like a complex of going out places like bars, clubs, etc.

We got there late around 1 (closes at 2 I think) and paid 500 to get in - includes 2 drink tickets. Someone said you needed passport but I had a copy and natas just had a pic and we got in cuz we're Gs like that

I go to the bar and immediately am double-fisting two whiskeys
A girl next to me asks me where I'm from cuz I guess I'm just a sick cunt and having fun and look decent, too

She ends up being Korean but not from Seoul so it's funny listening to her non-Seoul Korean accent (I am Korean-American and speak Korean). While I want to bang a Korean girl in Bangkok, she wasn't super hot and her friend wasn't either so me and natas tried to hit the main room.
* Side note: every time I come to BKK, there seems to be more and more Koreans (guys and girls) - also seems to be more Japanese, some Chinese, too

It was honestly so packed that you couldn't even move so we decided to go back to where we were. I was tired before going to the club but I guess the Red Bull and club environment woke me up big time

As we're checking out the club and stuff a ladyboy grabs me and once I realize it's a ladyboy I walk away nicely but she decides to pinch my nipple hard, great

But man. The girls in Demo are sooo fly. Like I said, I'm in the middle of nowhere so I'm lucky to see 1 hot girl a day, if that.

I was getting lots of eye contact and I remember trying to pull one girl into me but she was shy and walked away

Anyway, I was just chillin and I see a pretty hot girl walk past, thought she was checking me out. Natas points out the same girl a little later and I go over and talk to her

She is into me right away and we're all over each other and making out in a few minutes.

This chick literally came to the club by herself and was drinking Long Island Iced Tea so I knew she was looking to get stuffed

She was rich and had BS jobs like "designer" and "yoga instructor". But God damn did she look good

We go for a smoke and I say let's go to your place because I figured if we went to mine we would probably both fall asleep by the time we got there cuz it's so far away

She was a little drunk so she calls her driver - yes, her driver - who was going to take a little while to arrive so I took her to an izakaya I saw when me and natas got to the nightlife complex. An izakaya is a Japanese-style bar and from the ones I've been to, they have private rooms so it's good for "isolating" and getting physical without people seeing. The place I'm talking about is on the 3rd floor of a building on the right when you enter the area that Demo is in

We get some beers there and a little food and continue to drink, make out, etc. The driver comes and she pays for everything. I was almost falling asleep in the cab though - apparently the driver was driving really carefully because it wasn't his car. The girl takes over the wheel and the driver gets out - literally in the middle of the highway Sad (think he got picked up)

Eventually we end up at her place which isn't even an apartment but a house in a gated community. She had an entire multi-level house to herself, it was unbelievable

I took a nice shower since even at night in this fuckin city I'm sweating from being outside

We had sex and damn that pussy was tight. She had some nice fake tits, too - didn't feel too fake.
We smashed a couple of times and passed out - I couldn't really sleep though cuz she literally was like right next to me and I was on the edge of the bed about to fall off

We fucked a few times throughout the night and damn this girl just wanted to keep going but I just wanted to go home after a while

We went to some villa after having sex a couple times in the morning and she bought breakfast. Her friend who is some big actress showed up and we got some coffee/tea while the people at the villa called me a cab

Honestly, I haven't been feeling BKK this time around cuz it's just so fucking hot all day long, even at night. (The other times I've been here I came towards the end of the year, which might be a bit more bearable weather-wise). But yea, forgot how fun the nightlife can be

To be honest, I was worried that this chick was a ladyboy or something only because it was pretty damn easy but while we were in her car I saw her ID and it said "Miss". Also at her place, I saw her passport lying around and it also said "Miss". Apparently looking at the girl's ID is the only 100% foolproof way you can know whether or not the girl is a girl or a ladyboy because ladyboys can't legally change their gender. So if you're suspicious, maybe just ask what her age is and then be like "omg I don't believe you, you look so young" and ask to see her ID

Pic (admittedly looked way hotter in the club)

Another pic (more revealing - pm me for password - have rep)

Made a short recording Wink (sorry about the music - made the recording on phone and had Youtube on)
What's the obsession with rich thais?

They just came out ahead in the cronyism and corruption games.

They're still dumb as fuck when compared to most educated first world people and crazy narcissists thanks to cheap servant type labor from drivers to maids etc.

You'll find more intelligent people working 40k baht IT and engineering jobs than in those spheres and as a foreigner you're irrelevant to them either way.

Houses in gated communities aren't even expensive, 40-50k a month will get you one in Nichada Thani.

Might be a mia noi to an actual rich guy looking to get some validation from someone who isn't a wrinkly old dude. This probably wouldn't work if you were white btw. As a korean you come closer to upper class chinese thais in looks if you don't have tan skin.

Thai society in Bangkok above the working poor is pretty seedy and you can rarely be sure who people actually are, especially when you frequent the nightlife.

Congrats to the lay though.
How long will you be in Bangkok whitenightrises? I'll be there on Thursday for a week. I took an apartment very close to that Demo complex. Do you speak any Korean?
