Edit: This offense looks like garbage when Steph is out. Just because mjax is in the building doesn't mean we have to default to iso ball.

Houston's role players stepped up last night. If they can get that kind of production (or close to it) every game then they will make it to the 2nd round. They'll even make that second round series a tough one

I'm especially excited for the Spurs x Clippers match up. I think it will be the toughest one.

As a Mavericks fan, I don't think people realize how effective the Rockets role players are.

Everybody in the media is saying "shut down Harden...and the rest will fall." It obviously hurts not having Patrick Beverly, but the front court for Houston is deep especially with Dwight Howard gradually finding his form.

Rockets fans should be cheering every time Chandler Parsons touches the ball bc he sucks. At this rate, I'm hoping the Mavs lose so they can cut their losses with Rondo who slows down the pace of the game not to mention horrible FT shooting & maybe trade the remaining 2 years of Parsons contract for an underachieving D. Will who might be rejuvenated playing back at home.

RE: The NBA Thread
Mavs problem is that they always overpay for over the hill veterans. They haven't really drafted and developed a player since Dirk. They just need to surround Ellis/Dirk with young athletic role players and they would be great. The Spurs did it by adding guys like Green/Splitter/Leonard/Mills and it made them championship favorites again. I would probably keep Parsons since his deal will actually be cheap once those TV Deals kick in. Rondo though was always over-rated playing in the East on a team built for his talents.

Donnie Nelson is the Mavs GM by "title," but Mark Cuban is very similar to Jerry Jones in regards to being the real general manager. The issue with Mark Cuban is that he is notorious for changing the core role players of the team drastically every year. Sometimes it works..but once it clicks...he'll drastically change the core yet again.

If you look at the championship Lakers and Spurs teams in the last 16 odd years, both kept their cores in check while not making any drastic moves unless they were absolutely necessary.

Ballsdeep,
Try rojadirect.me for watching live the play off games free.

Just found out that NBA pass is basically useless for the playoffs. Can't wait games live as it says I'm in a black out area. Was enjoying the pass so far for the regular season games but can only watch games after they're finished for the playoffs.

Anyone has any ideas to get around this BS?

This Portland game is ugly. I know they are hurting with injuries but damn where is the fight?

Aldridge is the only dude out there on the Blazers that is playing like he came to win.

Dame Lillard's defense is so so bad. I think his big shots tend to colour people a little. He's one of the most overrated players in the league.

Spurs-Clips is my favorite 1st round matchup

perpetual motion v. half court execution

young spry legs v. experience & craftiness

athleticism v. sharp fundamentals

This is a 6 or 7 game series easy

Unless it's Game Seven, one game doesn't mean anything, especially in the playoffs.

When you don't have home court advantage, all you really want out of the first two games is a split, it puts the pressure on the other team.

RE: The NBA Thread
jariel has it.

You expect the Clippers to win game 1 at home. Chris Paul has too much pride and fight for that.

Don't underestimate CP3. Anybody who knows basketball will recognise him as one of the greatest point guards in the history of the game despite his playoff struggles.

I picked the Spurs to win originally but I think this is going to go 7.

I really wish the Spurs won their last game of the regular season, Dubs would score 130 a game against the Thunder.

Jimmy Butler elevating himself to star status in these playoffs. That last dunk was sick.

He is already better than Lebron was at the same stage of his career. His gsme isn't in even in peak mode yet which is scary, and he is still improving his shot range too...
