Are gay people driving the PC Culture?
Hey guys,
I talked with a gay colleague today at work. I was polite but I made very minor joke at his expense and he freak out. Later he was no longer friendly or open.

I was upset at myself but also I am realizing how PC you need to be nowadays to the point that I feel like an Omega male trying to make people not mind my existence.

No, they aren't. They're a device of 'PC culture'.

I realise that doesn't really answer your question, and is somewhat obtuse.

Capitalism is driving the PC culture. Unless we force capitalism to work against PC, it will continue to get worse.

What is 'PC Culture'? Well, at its core it's just more 'rules'.

Who do we know that love & flourish under rules?

RE: Are gay people driving the PC Culture?
Yes, they are.

I come from a media background. And in that world, gay men have more influence than their numbers would suggest. Virtually all of Hollywood and television's advocacy of gay culture is due to gay men. And while this isn't PC per se, the fact that criticizing it is off-limits is, in fact, PC.

But how did that come about?

Wait, I know! It's because of the lesbians in academia and government. This is the other piece of the PC pie and it's a much, much bigger piece. And a more sour one, too.

Where gay men have a sense of humor, lesbians have none. They're the ones who run women's studies departments, call for speech codes, and make up ridiculous non-scientific* theories about all men being rapists, about there being such as thing as a "hostile work environment," about drunk sex being rape...and about a lot of other bad ideas we complain about on here.

I would argue that the books and concepts that came from 1970s-era feminism pretty much created the PC culture as we know it. That's now seeped into the workplace and in American work culture sets the tone for a lot of who were are.

The ideas from these books also went straight from academia to newspapers and magazines, because virtually ALL female reporters take women's studies courses. So the influence here is gigantic -- I've seen it everywhere from fashion magazines to pop music writing to teen zines.

It's important to draw a distinction between gay men and lesbian women. The first might disgust men to look at, but are generally less hateful -- and actually less political and more hedonistic. If a gay man writes a book, it's a style or fashion guide.

Lesbians, on the other hand, are pleasant to watch (at least in porno fantasyland) but are often lethal to men's well-being and a free society in general. If you come across a bad idea involving genders, odds are it sprung from the mind of a lesbian. When lesbian pen books, look out, because they're usually anti-male screeds like "Raising Men Without Boys" and "The S.C.U.M. Manifesto."

* So much for the left that "fucking loves science."

I am tired of adopting an apologetic attitude only to further myself in the world of academia. 'Damage Control' is a word I only learned in America, after dealing with people with a extremely thin skin. I highly enjoy studying and learning but I am sicken to be constantly dealing with little girls who can't take humor. I think I will become an independent researcher or a politician after my academic career is done. I am attracted to the money and power.

Whilst I'd agree with Days that Lesbians are agitators by nature, I'd broaden it to this:

Defective people drive PC Culture.

The unpopular. The overweight. The untalented. Those confused about sexuality, gender, theology and morality. The sluts and the deviants. The criminals and their victims. The low-resilient minds (the wealthy and privileged).

I've never met a Hardcore Progressive who wasn't - putting it bluntly - broken.

Q: How many feminists does it take to change a light bulb?
A: That's not funny!
