Late post but, after I stopped doing Stronglifts, I started doing Wendler 531 and got the Wendler Log app from Vandersoft. I've found it to be pretty near as brain dead simple as the Stronglifts app. Quite pleased with it.

My experience of Xfit women is they mirror their menfolk quite a lot. Lord help you if you're not showing delt quad and ab development.

This is true, they do try to act like men a lot. But at the end of the day they're just women and a lot of them don't have any frame. It's like an effeminate man trying to act masculine

Really? I've never tried to hook with "serious" fitness chicks, but I get the impression they are way too high and mighty on themselves per their lifestyle. Any woman that is that dedicated to an inherently masculine activity just seems like too much of a pain in the ass to deal with.

RE: Lifter's Lounge
I have started to focus on doing legs and pushing myself on them. I have always ignored them because of various nagging injuries (football, etc). I have realized lately that I don't squat deep enough, my legs were too far apart, and just a bunch of technique things.

Today a buddy was spotting me to tell me how low to go and it was way lower than I imagined for a proper squat, I have to imagine my ass just inches off the ground.

But the intensity was huuuuuuuge (trump voice) and I was sweating like a pig - I never used to sweat doing leg work.

I need to work it gradually but it was a good feeling to wobble while walking out of the gym.

Made an easy 3x3 with 130 kg squats (compared to my previous atrocious form) and 107,5 kg bench. Once I get the 3x3 to 140kg on squats and 110 on bench, I'll get the reps to 3x5. Deadlifts are already at 5 sets of 3 at 200 kg, need to get them to 3 sets of 5 at 200 as well. When that's done, I'll probably cut and maintain that strength level. Then it's upping the weights again.

Did squats for the first time yesterday.
My upper back hurts like a bitch.

So glad to be able to do them at all, though. I love weightlifting. It makes me feel like I'm accomplishing something with my day.

To the veteran lifters here;
I've been training for around 1.5 years. My triceps have shit genetics. My horseshoe ends around 6 inches above the elbow joint, and its very hard to develop any head of the triceps.
What has worked for you guys? Every other body part is coming along fine. It's underdeveloped to the point where the other brahs comment on it.

For me the most effective triceps movements I've used are close grip bench and dips. I've also found that the overhead press with a fairly narrow grip is also surprisingly effective. Isolation movements didn't do a great deal for me and caused me to develop elbow pain.

Whatever press you're doing, try something different.

If you do bench a lot, switch it up with dips, military press, or incline for 8-15 reps a set. Close grip bench is good, too. For some reason I find that military press hits my triceps the best.

Also after your pressing days do something like 4 sets of 20 reps on the tricep extension with a fairly light weight and gradually bump it up over time. You shouldn't have too many problems with development on that.

French press with a dumbbell or a plate works pretty good, too.

Got back in the gym after a week off to test out some new backpacking gear before summer hits. I was amped at work with the anticipation of it and I feel even better afterwards. I also finished up my plate storage cart so its easier to load and unload my bar.

I'm in the process of creating an off-season futbol(soccer) workout manual. A lot of players in the U.S. don't do any weight lifting so I feel this would help in strength, speed, agility and explosiveness. I for the most part have it done but just need to make it aesthetically pleasing, test it out myself and see if it needs any tweaking. I don't know how effective it will be with me though as my speed, strength and explosiveness are strong points of how I play. If my agility increases I will consider it a success.

If it is effective I would probably target it at teams first than individuals second.
Once I finish it I would be open to Pm'ing it to any members with experience in the sport to see if they think its quality.

I have been at it for along time.

Due to an injury on mu knee, I train my legs individually. Which means I do leg extensions and leg curls one leg at a time.

Does anybody else do this?

I have an injury on my hamstring and in my rehab I've been doing the same thing. I do some leg work together some individually.

For example :

Together: Back extension(Helps hamstrings more than you think)
Weighted walking lunges

Individual leg: Weighted Jumping Bulgarian split squats
Single legged stiff legged deadlift

All the single legged exercises I would do much lighter on my rehab leg.

What's up with the recent bodybuilding YouTube channel beefs?

220 lb grown men arguing like bitches over minor shit like another YouTube fitness guy calling them out for being too small, not natty or having like 8% bodyfat instead of 6% or whatever.

Calum von Moger, Layne Norton, Vegan Gains, Jason Blaha, Brandon Campbell, Maxx Chewning, Ian Mcpoptart and Scott Herman being the main perpetrators.

I like most of 'em except that fat tumor Jason Blaha.

floor presses and use fat grips during close grip work, as long as you're eating enough and do these with any real weight your tris will blow the fk up.

Hyper -isolation is the key here.

Work all 3 heads of the triceps. As you change angles, forearm and elbow positions... you can emphasize one head over the other.

Most guys tend to overwork their lateral head since the go to tri exercises tend to be shoulder width grip cable pushdowns or skullcrushers. These tend to not work the Long head (the largest) and the medial head as much.

For the long head try French Press with your elbows slightly flared in. Or a high arm position tricep exercise like overhead extensions.

For the medial head try rack lockouts with a supinated close grip. The this puts your brachioradialis out of the equation for maximum emphasis on the tris. Might feel like a weird exercise at first but it will have everybody mirin' within 3 months. For the lateral head just do your regular pushdowns.

I used to have the problem of my biceps looking solid from the side but like absolute skinny shit from the front until i started hyper-isolating and working both heads.

Anabasis, how often did you work your arms separately? Did you tack them on at the end of push/pull days or a dedicated arm day?

End of Push/Pull days.

But instead of pairing Tri's with push days and Bi's on pull days i reccomend the opposite.

After 20-25 sets of pushing your triceps are toast so you typically will not get the most out of Trisolation workouts. So isolate your biceps on push days instead.

On a 5 or 6 day/week day PPL routine it works out fine as long as you do Push-Legs-Pull and not Push-Pull-Legs.

Monday - Push & Biceps
Tuesday - Legs
Wednesday- Pull & Triceps
Thursday- Rest
Friday - Push & Biceps
Saturday- Rest or Legs
Sunday- Pull & Triceps

^ The point being leaving like 48 hours between your two upper body sessions for optimal recovery.
