Only if your E2 is high. If you manage your E2, then you will lean out and likely lose abdominal fat.

I would say that most men, unless they're overweight, will have optimal E2 ranges with normal TRT.

RE: How to Get a Script for TRT-- For Men Over 30
I’m a 40 year and here are my results:

- S TESTO: 222 ng/dL (ref level 286-802)
- S SHBG: 25 nmol/L (ref level 17-56)
- cFreeTesto: 181 pmol/L (ref level 170-670)

Are there any seasoned guys out there who can weigh in with their thoughts on these levels? 222. Is this cause for concern, or is this a normal ‘average low’ reading?

check out my intro post

Holy crap batman, your t level is definitely below normal. I came in at 300 ng/dL and I felt absolutely horrible. At your age and level I would definitely get on t if I were you, but I'm not a doctor.

RE: How to Get a Script for TRT-- For Men Over 30
Just got tested, any chance one pros here could tell me if I fit the requirements? My GP says no but she also say's "no matter the results don't prescribe T" So I got my test anyway but not sure how to read and she was no help. I'm a 33-year-old male. Any help would be great, I fit the profile of someone who could use it but not sure about my numbers.

Your GP says no matter how low you are, she won’t prescribe T? If that’s the case, then you need to find a new GP. It sounds like she’s got some kind of philosophical opposition to it.

RE: How to Get a Script for TRT-- For Men Over 30
I have an appointment with a biohormone doctor at one of those trendy anti-aging clinics in the first week of January. I went to one over three years ago but the doctor wouldn’t put me on it, so I went ahead and self prescribed and bought legit test at pharmacies in Colombia. I also do underground test in Canada but purposely crashed my test levels based on Linux’s recommendations in this thread, I went 4.5 weeks without it to give blood for this appointment I’m going to. A friend of mine did the same thing and got a legit script so I’ll let you guys know how it goes.

God damned them all, I was told we'd cruise the seas for American gold, we'd fire no guns-shed no tears, now I'm a broken man on a Halifax pier, the last of Barrett's privateers!

You're in the bottom 1%. Find a doctor and get on test.

RE: How to Get a Script for TRT-- For Men Over 30
222 ng/dL is very low for age 40, so needs to be fixed, but you should spend at least a year trying natural methods to boost total testosterone. Injecting testosterone (once you start you can never stop) should be like radical surgery for obesity, a last resort. Speaking of obesity, do you have a six pack? If not, get one, starting today. Dieting may crush your already low testosterone, so don't do blood tests again until you have the six pack. Once you resume eating normally (and healthy), testosterone should surge within a day or two. Do you get plenty of sleep? If not, fix that problem as well. Are you under stress? Fix that problem. Do you exercise, either calisthenics or weightlifting? If not, start. Too much exercise, especially cardio, may crush testosterone. Start with my quick (though not easy) 5 minute morning routine: 60 pushups, 60 squat jumps, 60 hindu squats. Add another minute of pullups if you have a bar avail.

It's good to see that someone is suggesting restraint in TRT. There are a lot of men out there who recommend shooting up TRT as the only way to go. Some of the suggestions I've seen on various forums start sounding like what I would hear from a bunch of junkies talking about the latest drug.

Personally, I have a very strong aversion to any kind of dependency or addiction. I'm planning on getting together with a doctor who seems to have a clue and get lots of testing done. Where am I now as far as testosterone and other related hormone? Where am I in terms of various micronutrients? Using that information as a starting point, work on the various deficiencies and see where I am in a few months.

I have a couple of friends on TRT. One just started using a patch delivery system and is having a bit of trouble with it. The other has been on TRT for quite a while now with some problems. Currently his doctor is using an "off label" system where he uses an insulin needle to deliver a small dose every day or two instead of the big IM dose every couple of weeks that led to huge mood swings. These are the sorts of things I'm paying attention to, because I don't fully trust doctors.

I also recently met a guy in his 70s who is taking Clomid to reduce how much his system down regulates testosterone production, so his testosterone is all produced "in house".

This is where I stand. Your body is your business.

RE: How to Get a Script for TRT-- For Men Over 30
chicane,

Clomid will fuck you up much faster than testosterone ever will. There is a reason it carries a 41% depression rate. It is NOT a viable option if you want to be healthy. It's a temporary option for recovering post cycle and increasing sperm count for temporary fertility health.

Also, the once every three week injections are really no longer used unless you go to a retard doctor.

Half-life of test cyp or test enth is about 8-10 days. So that's a 16-20 day active live. Once a week injections are not going to make your emotions hit the fan. The off label system sounds like test prop. Lots of people use that method also.

Has anyone dealt with excessively high DHT that occurred prior to going on T?

My opinion is you need a script. You are in the bottom 5% percentile of men and you have the testosterone of a 60 year old man.

But understand test levels have a large standard deviation, if you take the test again tomorrow, it might be 220, and if you take it a week later it might be 390.

I would use your current levels and find a doctor who will give you a script. All you need to do is find one doctor, once you have a script, then find a better doctor to take over your healthcare.

Not a 60 year old man that can dead lift twice his body weight.

I'm currently deadlifting over my body weight and doing multiple laps of farmers carry at 150% of my body weight. It's a start, I'm 61. Not impressive compared to folks who are into strength building, but likely better than what half the men of all ages can do.

I was on TRT a few years ago (at 33) and then the doc I was using moved out of state. I will check out Defy Medical after the holidays, and just ordered the PrivateMD Labs test this morning.

One side note - When I was on TRT (for roughly a year before my doc moved), I did notice the back acne was pretty bad, I also noticed my libido increased, and my loads were much greater(shooting for distance). Anyone else have that side effect?

A friend of mine did the same thing and got a legit script so I’ll let you guys know how it goes.

I just got back from my clinic consultation and the pharmacy where I picked up my prescription test, so it worked, I followed Linux's plan and now have a legit script for testosterone cypionate.

A breakdown of how I did this:

As I mentioned above, I crashed my levels on purpose by not injecting testosterone as usual. I called the biohormone clinic and set up an appointment to have my blood work done, they sent me an e-mail requisition which I then forwarded to the lab and within a couple of days, I had my blood drawn.

-Immediately after the blood test I injected my underground test enanthate to get my levels back up and did that weekly as usual, it took me another month or so to get my appointment with the doctor, due to my work schedule and vacation.

The appointment: I had a twenty minute or so consultation with a lady who asked me a bunch of health questions, mostly about things like a lack of libido, decreased erection strength, lack of sleep, decreased energy levels, etc. She informed me that some of my levels were a bit high, such as iron and that I should give blood (something I haven't done but definitely should have) and my thyroid numbers were a bit off too. She didn't ask me about previous testosterone use and I didn't tell her about it.

My "crashed" level of free test was 288 and she said that this was really low but if I had gone to a regular doctor then they would've said that it's within "normal" range and nothing would've been done about it, which basically mirrors what guys on here have said about their experiences with the normal doctors. Then the doctor came in....

This guy was awesome, he said that my numbers are low but they can be fixed and put back to optimal levels. He explained that the US military did a study where they took blood samples from soldiers in WWII, froze them then analyzed them 60 years later and found that they were on average twice that of men's levels these days. Then he went off on a tangent about the government allowing food companies to put chemicals in our foods and water supply, "but I don't want to sound like a crazy conspiracy theorist!" Then he says something that had me laughing, "You see, there's two types of guys in the world: the type who when they're young, all they think about is sex and chasing women and the guys who just want to be friends with women and not have sex with them" To which I replied, "I'm in the former category" and he informed me that with his therapy, I'll be back to my former self.

So, he prescribed 100 mgs of test cypionate injections once per week as well as 25mg of DHEA and 1MG of Arimidex. I will take this for two months and then do another blood test and go from there. He also recommended HCG as an option that I could do now or after the two month mark, since my nuts are already shrunken from the ug test I've been on, I passed. Hopefully this will work out well, I feel better knowing that my use of test will be monitored by health care professionals and I can do it legit so will be able to travel with it and take it to work camps, which was a major concern before because they search our bags.

Total cost: $260 usd for consultation
Test/DHEA/Arimidex/needles/: $200 for a 3 month supply

Again, big thanks to my homie Linux for the advice!

God damned them all, I was told we'd cruise the seas for American gold, we'd fire no guns-shed no tears, now I'm a broken man on a Halifax pier, the last of Barrett's privateers!

RE: How to Get a Script for TRT-- For Men Over 30
Got tested last year and was at 307. 6 months of lifting heavy, trying to improve my diet, and taking supplements to improve my T (zinc, vitamin D, an OTC supplement) later and as of yesterday my T levels have shot up...all the way to 314. Granted I intentionally sandbagged the test (got hammered the night before, fapped right before I went in, ate like shit and didn't work out for 3-4 days prior) but that's not going to cut it.

Only thing causing me any hesitation at all is that I definitely do want to have kids. But based on what I've read in this and the other TRT thread that sounds like it shouldn't be an issue if I supplement with HCG, and I'll also bank sperm before I start as a backup. Plan to get in touch with that Defy Medical place this week and get started--I'll be 35 in a few months, life is too short to go through my last decade or so of youth with the testosterone of a 70 year old.

Major thanks to LINUX for this thread, repped.

I got my Magnum condoms, I got my wad of hundreds, I'm ready to plow!

Get a PSA test also. Just to keep on the record, since you'll be doing a PSA test once a year to monitor your prostate

Also be careful reading that TRT thread. There is a lot of dumb ass comments in there of self proclaimed experts who don't know what they are talking about. I avoid that thread because it pisses me off.

I would use defy as a last case scenario. If you go to a doctor and get a script, you're going to save a shit load of money. a 10ml vial of 200mg Test is about 43 dollars using GoodRX application coupons. Look for a gay friendly doctor in your area, carry in your lab results in your hand. Have test levels, a complete blood count, and a PSA. This will prevent most doctors from asking you for more test.

After you get a script, transfer to a urologist and tell him you are already on test and need someone to take over your care who is more knowledgeable than a primary care doctor. Ideally, you'll want a doctor who requires a once a year appointment for new blood test, which you hand cary in your lab results because you do them yourself, so you always know you are within the correct levels, instead of him seeing something wrong and telling you that you need to stop. I do my blood several times before I take in my lab results to the doctor. My results are always perfect because of this.

Yeah, good call on the PSA--my dad and grandfather both had prostate cancer in their 60s so that's definitely something I need to watch out for even without TRT.

I got the female hormone panel from Private MD Labs you recommended on the first page which has T levels and a dozen or so other readings, so should be good with that for a complete blood test? It did come back saying my blood glucose was slightly high, not too worried about that in and of itself since I'm assuming it's just because I got wrecked the night before, but hopefully the doc won't see it as a red flag.

I got my Magnum condoms, I got my wad of hundreds, I'm ready to plow!

Yea. If you got the female hormone panel , all you need now is the psa and you’re good to go.

Thanks for the thread, @LINUX. Feeling like an old man is just a thing.

I have a yearly physical blood test coming up and I think I'm going to roll this T work into it.

Is the http://www.Privatemdlabs.com _Hormone Panel for Females_ still the one to get? It looks like there is a "New! Hormone Panel Basic (F&T Testosterone, E2, FSH)" that includes both serum and free T readings.
