Looks like another first round exit for the Dubs. Bogut out indefinitely and Lee chronically injured as well. Clips will kill it inside. Look for Curry and/or Thompson to go off in at least 1 or 2 games and carry the team to a win.

Sucks! They should have played a little more consistent during the season and matched up with Houston.

The Dubs wouldn't even be in the playoffs if they didn't get Iggy this summer. That dude is the most under appreciated player in the NBA.

-One star player sleeping with wife of another
-George and Hibbert engaged in a three some and there has been some fallout
-Paul George has two women pregnant at the same time: a Miami stripper and Callie Rivers - Doc River's daughter !!

RE: The NBA Thread
Finally the NBA season can begin.

I think the finals will be Thunder-Heat. Depends on Wade's health, which we truly have no idea about. Everything Miami did this year was in preparation for the these two months.

Is Wade really that banged up or is he saving it all for May and June? Has Lebron lost a step defensively or is just coasting? Are there schemes and gears the Heat never even bothered to show in the regular season? Look at the Heat D from games 2, 4 and portions of game 7 in last season's finals. It was nothing like we saw from the Heat at all this season. If the Heat find that gear, they'll win again. If they don't then the Thunder will.

I could also see the Clippers getting to the finals. I think CP3 has a gear he hasn't shown yet and the Clips are a bad matchup for the Thunder, who they'll probably see in round 2.

RE: The NBA Thread
I don't watch much sports but the NBA playoffs always get me out of my seat.

Going to see the clips warriors Game 3 this year. That should be a fun one because I am guessing that is where the W's can pull out a win. That stadium when the warriors are in the playoffs is bonkers. Great atmosphere.

Downside? Without bogut they are gonna get killed down low. You can't really box out DeAndre Jordan

Upside? Maybe a fight breaks out again ha!

---

As mentioned, still got lebron taking it. Last year was the best finals I've seen, hopefully this year is just as good.

RE: The NBA Thread
The NBA Finals will be Thunder and the Heat. I predict the Heat will win it in 6. All the other contenders such as the Spurs, Clippers and Pacers don't have much of a chance. First the Spurs have absolutely no answer for either Kevin Durant or Russell Westbrook if they were to meet in the Conference finals due to being young, athletic and highly skilled and smart for the most part, except when Westbrook goes into "hero mode". I believe the only reason that the Spurs made it to the finals last year was due to Westbrook's injury. The Clippers, no fucking chance in hell, first they can't shoot free throws and I highly doubt their ability to score in the half court with the game on the line against elite defenses and that is the essence of playoff basketball. Lastly, I don't see the Pacers getting pass the Heat because the Pacers have a major Achilles Heel which is they turn the ball over way too much and against a team like the Heat which converts turnovers into points easily that is a deadly mistake. Also the Pacers are very limited offensively with Lance Stephenson and Paul George being the only ones that can consistently score and even then I doubt Paul George scoring against LeBron because George's efficiency takes a huge nose dive when LeBron turns up the defensive intensity. Plus Roy Hibert, what a joke, he's 7'2" plays like he's 5'2".

He seems to be a mediocre small forward who thinks he is much better than he is because he played on the worst team in the league (or second worst). Not that Granger could have stayed, he didn't fit into the team concept but neither does Turner. I still think getting a point guard with good handles was the main thing the Pacers needed. And now no news on Bynum who probably won't even play.

Still, the Pacers are made to beat the Heat and they're better and deeper than last year where it went 7 games. Last year they lost because of a bad bench, but now they have Scola and Watson too.

What is you guys opinion on the Nets and Jason Kidd? I think the Nets have found a good groove using Pierce as the main offensive leader and Garnett providing defense leadership and they have a deep team that now seems to play unselfish ball. I could see them beat the Heat actually too.

In the west I have to agree that Spurs will have difficulty with OKC. They are just too quick and explosive. However, I don't know the seeds and if OKC might face of with Houston, which I think could be a tough matchup.

Watson is good. Scola is a shell of his former self.

Scola is still legit on offense, he can get those mid range shots for the bench that West gets in the starting lineup, but in on defense, that is another story entirely. He is probably one of the slowest to move his feet in the entire NBA and definitely can't guard any of the Heat starters.

I'm excited for this round of playoffs though. The regular seasons drags on for way too long, would prefer a shorter season of 58 games instead, really no reason for 82 games anymore, particularly because so many teams are tanking. I heard the NBA are thinking seriously about removing conferences for playoffs and changing the draft lottery. I think that could really improve the competitiveness.

I'm interested to see what my Rockets do. They swept the Spurs and went 3-1 against Portland this year, so you'd think a WCF berth is very doable. That being said, McHale is an idiot who will get outcoached in every round.

I can never root for any team that has Dwight Howard on it.

Funny thing is that I used to love the Magic teams he was on with Hedo , Jameer Nelson, and Rashard Lewis

I think they downgraded by trading granger for evan turner. Granger has been part of the original pacers run, and he is probably a lot more mature than turner. Turner is emblematic of the rot inside the pacers right now - too much ego.

I was downgrading my expectation of Pacers, but with Bynum playing 15-20, I see Miami having a lot of difficulty on the low post and also getting rebounds.

That's always the question. He's the Bill Walton of his generation.

Bill Walton was healthy for two full seasons of his career and won titles in both years.

RE: The NBA Thread
Who is to blame for the unmitigated disaster that was the Lakers this year? I place the blame mostly on general manager Mitch Kupchak. He made what may very well be the worst deal in Laker history. He threw away two first-round and two second-round draft picks for 38-year-old Steve Nash. Not surprisingly, Nash has played like a 38-year-old. He's been even less effective than Kareem Abdul-Jabbar was in his final seasons. If KAJ had retired two years earlier, nobody would have noticed.

What was even more shocking about the Nash deal was how many people thought it was a positive thing. The Lakers could have used those draft picks to get their next crop of stars.

As far as Paul George and his women are concerned, let's consider some pics:

Hahahaha...fuck the Pacers. Nothing would make me more happy than to see them lose this series but I am still going to give them the benefit of the doubt. I think they win in 6 but man this is funny to see.

RE: The NBA Thread
Finally the play offs are here!

Will be interesting to see how the Raptors will fare. Will their lack of play off basketball hurt them?

This is a team with a bright future. This year, they should win the series against the Nets and anything beyond is pure gravy while accumulating as much experience as possible for the future.

The real fun part, at least for me, is to see my Spurs team get back to the finals and finish the job in the finals last year, that they should have won and let incredibly slip away from their fingers while they had it in the bag.

It's going to be a very exciting post season.

Indiana will be very hard to stop in the East and I see them eliminate Glory Hunters team aka Heats team rather easily.

Spurs-Pacers in the final with the Spurs winning it in six.Smile
