You people think there is any moral high ground in the band of brotherhood of NBA ownership. Its a closed and tight group of 30 people. It does not matter what Adam Silver says publicly, the notion of Sterling having his franchise taken away is non-starter. Sterling for his cheap and racist ways has been with the league a long fucking time and helped build it up. The owners class of every league is protected and they will roll out some slap of the wrist for him in public but do little behind the scenes. Pro Sports has always been a modern version of slavery and you get people like sterling when the Executive and ownership ranks of a sport that is comprised of 80% African-Americans still roughly has only 5% of its executives and owners being Black.

You have a bunch of stuffy rich white guys whom have no idea how to identify with their labor. Some owners make the effort, but many don't, especially the old school guys whom just view the team as a toy and hope that it makes money while enjoying all the DHV perks of it all. The NBA as the most PC league will roll out some big educational package and promo thing that will put new policy for each teams and force the owners to shake their salves/labor hands or some shit like that.

AS far as the Clippers team goes. I am not sure how and what they can do. The man pays you millions and the more you undermine your owner the more chaos you being to the whole organization which can affect your team and then in the end ... your money. This situation shows how much of a slave trade pro sports is because many of the players can't do shit. They can say all they want but they realistically are hand tied as the league will handcuff them, and action as I noted will actually do more harm then good since it undermines the business/team.

Had this discussion with my brother, about how the Clips would be affected by this. Baron Davis talked about what it was like playing for Sterling:

Those were Baron Davis's worst years as well (granted, he was older, but he really underperformed in LA).

On the surface, the NBA shouldn't be able to do much about a recording of a private conversation provided by some gold-digging ho who likely tried to blackmail the dude to not release the tape. This is the logical argument. But there is a subtlety to this discussion, and it lies in the fact that this guy, on one end, hates black people, and believes in his heart that he employs them, and they are somehow indebted to him.

At the very least, this is a huge distraction for them, in the playoffs no less. I hope they can look past it soon enough and down the Warriors.

Sterling has a long standing relationship with Magic, has invited Magic into his home and country clubs tons of times. Magic even said that Sterling has consulted with Magic on ways to improve the Clippers.

One thing that the media has totally ignored is that this bitch's head is more hollow than a coconut. But it's hard to fully grasp the context of what Sterling meant without seeing the instagram pics of the other people he was referring to. If they were well-dressed and well-mannered men, then Sterling is an absolute racist prick. But if they were tatted up with gold teeth and dressed like idiots, then I can understand. At the end of the day he has a business and an image to maintain, and he doesn't want some skank to tarnish it. I give Sterling a slight benefit of the doubt here because judging by how dumb that bitch is I can only wonder what kind of neighborhood she grew up in and the type of company she keeps.

Another thing that irks me about the media is the "people who live in glass houses don't throw stones" analogy. Do all the media members hold absolutely holly opinions in all aspects of their lives? Have they never in their life said that certain ethnicities don't tip well? Do the players and former players who lashed out at Sterling all have 100% PC opinions? Have none of them ever made a comment about someone else in regards to race or sexual orientation? You can't go around making fag jokes in the locker room everyday and then complain when someone else has ignorant opinions about you.

Lastly, there is no mention of the pending 1.8 million dollar lawsuit that Sterling has against this bitch. Not one media member has called this bitch out on extortion. The guy who attempted to extort David Letterman out of $2 million got 6 months in jail, yet what are the chances this bitch sees a jail cell?

Toronto has played excellent D to close out the last 2 games, especially against the pick and roll. The Nets will bounce back and win the series however. One of DWill/Johnson/Pierce has to be more aggressive going to the paint in the last 6 minutes. Joe Johnson has to go into "poor man's Kobe Bryant mode, and start working that elbow post-up/turnaround game.

Rumor mill in LA is that Rochelle Sterling is getting power of attorney to run the Clippers. (Did anyone else think it was odd that she was courtside solo today?) That way the NBA won't have to take the awkward position of having to force the sale of the team. Too many legal implications involved. The Clippers are now easily worth $1 billion.

Also, there are more tapes that could be released.

The truth of all of this is that this tape or any of this would not have gotten out if Sterling's wife had not sued the girl for all the gifts that Donald gave her. This was cold hard revenge on the Groupie's part to make that lawsuit go away and as a "fuck you" to Sterling's wife. Donald is merely collateral damage.
