1) How bad is the weather in November?

I got a Moldova Visa in Bucharest in July 2011.

I just needed it to transit to Ukraine, but they issued it for 30 days anyway.

The whole process took about 1.5 hours and cost Euro 45.

The guy at the consulate was the usual "stone face", but actually pretty helpful.
I guess it depends on who you strike.

Note that you need the consulate, not the embassy. They are in entirely different places.

This is a great report, but an old thread. Has anyone got more recent info?

I assume it will have changed a bit since 2011, particularly since they dropped the visa requirements?

I will be going to Chisinau next week and welcome any recent info on accommodation, nightlife, etc.

What is the best way to get there from Lviv?

I have avoided Moldova for some time due to the hordes of Turkish sex tourists that have invaded the tiny capital. The city has some of the most naturally pretty girls I have encountered in my travels, and the English penetration rates are over 50%, but you will deal with many fast rejections from skeptical and bitter girls.

But, if you can assume the low ROI, the girls you do go out with will be very sweet.

To go from Lviv you must take the train to Chernitsvi, then the next morning take the early bus to Chisinau. The 6 hour train is a Soviet-style sleeper, comfortable enough. The 8 hour bus to Chisinau is more like a minivan where you will be uncomfortably crammed into the window by the babushka sitting next to you.

Same experience here. Very beautiful girls, easy to collect numbers on day game but very hard to bang. For them, any foreigner is a dangerous alien pervert. If you speak Russian or Romanian, it might be a very good place

OMIT..
Thanks for the travel info.

Yes, seems to be automatic 90 days, according to the govt website -
http://www.mfa.gov.md/entry-visas-moldov...ecks/#link

I'm expecting it to have degraded from the earlier "glory days", but still worth a look.
Now I kind of wish I had spent more than 2 hours there when I transited in 2011.

RE: Chisinau, Moldova Report
First time poster:
I went to Chisinau on a direct flight from Rome in late November/early December last year. Was there ostensibly for business but nothing really came of that. Anyway, I didn't see all of the clubs that have been mentioned as I was only in town for a four days. That being said Cocos was certainly the best place I did see. Talent was exceptionally good by EE standards on what I imagine was just a normal weekend. Plus I could smoke Cohibas all night long. The male crowd the nights I was there ranged in age from what looked like early 20s to high 40s. As for the women, I highly doubt there were any over 25 in the whole place. They were, almost without exception, very amenable to my overtures. All that I spoke to were excited to speak english and meet a more laid back type of guy. (Russian dudes in country are main competition for top quality but are all sketchy, old or total hardos). For reference I am mid 20s white American citizen, very good looking but slightly below avg. height & fairly lean. Only speak english & french. If any of you plan on going for short term I would recommend the apartments across from the Stephan cel Mare statue. They are on same block as aforementioned bar and seemed to impress the girls. Price was about $250 for four nights, well worth it if you like pulling the creme of that particular crop. Without giving away too much of my identity, I met a guy from NYC at cocos who told me he owns/speculates in individual apartments in Chisinau, makes it there about every six weeks he said, got the sense he may be on here, just a hunch...

RE: Chisinau, Moldova Report
PS, I neglected to mention a few things. First, the temperament of the girls there was significantly warmer than anywhere else I have been besides Ukraine. Even those met in a club setting were demure and charmingly feminine...really pinged the LTR radar. Second: I would be interested to know what others think re: being well dressed. In my experience being a natty dresser has paid much higher dividends in EE than anywhere else.

All of those places require at least 2 months on the ground if you want a sure chance to get laid. Tough K-selected playing ground, very rare to get an ONS or fast date sex, which is why night game is fun but non-productive.

Belarus you absolutely need Russian, nobody speaks English. Serbia I'd say 60-70% English, Moldova maybe 40%. The best ROI is in Serbia, the girls are very receptive and friendly, and overall the best option (more 9s than in Moldova).

Quality: Belarus > Serbia > Moldova
ROI: Serbia > Moldova > Belarus

Depends on your look I think. I personally did better in Belarus than Serbia. I think someone like Roosh might do better in Serbia.

I base myself on day game alone. In Serbia they seem to be more open to it, day game in Minsk was very tough, in my experience at least.

IntlSwg and I drafted one. I will grab it from him and then publish it in a separate thread.

How about the level of Russian? Are Russian-speakers well-received there or does the Transnistria situation complicate things?

RE: Chisinau, Moldova Report
Unlike Ukraine, Moldova is not conflicted about joining the EU (though they probably should be) so most young people are or want to learn English. However, most girls I talked to and both I bedded had a better command of Russian than English. In short, between the two English will garner you more status but Russian will make it easier to communicate.

RE: Chisinau, Moldova Report
I arrived in Chisinau on Thursday.

The town seems pretty nice. The usual standard of FSU women.

Previous intel suggests that it is only a Friday - Saturday nightlife scene here.

Friday I went solo to Cocos at 11:40pm. They seemed to have face control on others at the door, but invited me in. No charge.
There were a few people in the outdoor seating, but I was the ONLY person in the main large room with the central bar, standing areas, dance floor, DJ stand, perimeter lounge seating with tables, etc. It is a quality set up.
By 1:00am the place was full. I don't want get into a scale discussion, but for my taste I saw a handful of 8's and 9's.
I left around 4am. It was thinning a little by then.

Saturday at midnight, solo again, I went to Studio. It looked less than 1/4 full and mostly guys and couples.
I walked out and went to the adjacent Lava.
Quite an active scene going on. It looked ok, but I didn't stay.

Around 12:30am I went back to Cocos, thinking it would be optimal timing.
At the door they said I needed a reservation, so no entry.
I discussed a reservation for next Fri or Sat. She said I would need to book a table for 1000 lei (~$75) to make the reservation.
Seems like BS because on the Friday less than half of the patrons had tables.
Maybe the key is arriving early, or it's just a random thing?
Any suggestions?

Next I went to B-68. Entry was 50 lei, but offset against the first drink.
Quite a good scene. The place was fairly full. Ratios ok, but more males, though as usual anywhere, many of them are not competition.
I stayed till 2:30. It was still going strong.

Can anyone with recent experience here tell me if there is anywhere lively on a Sunday night, or other special week nights anywhere?

RE: Chisinau, Moldova Report
I was also at Cocos a week ago alone at around midnight and the bouncers asked me if I had a table, I replied no and then they let me in Wink

The dance floor is too small and the music too loud to pick up easily in this club.

Apparently Moldova was good for women 5-10 years ago. Now they seem to think foreigners are Satan.

I have 2 Fbs from last year but these are girls who speak 5 languages and have been working abroad.

I was shocked at this reply I got from couch surfing today. I think it demonstrates perfectly the fear of foreigners here:

Me:

Salut!

I'm in Chisinau for a few months to learn Russian.

If you have time, let's have coffee so you can give me some info on your country Smile

L

Her:

Hi L,

Are you sure that you came here only to learn Russian? Smile

I would like to go out with you, but just only to talk and nothing more )

Regards,
E

Me:

I was in Ukraine for months and I just arrived here. I need Russian for my work, there are many jobs for the bla bla bla

Do you think I came here for your pretty smile?) lol

What do you mean talk and nothing more??

You seem like a very distrustful person. I wonder why you registered on couchsurfing...

Her:

hi,

yes, I was sure that you came just for my smile)))

If honestly, the main reason I have registered here is to practice my English and maybe to find some friends.

Responding on your question regarding "nothing more", I mean I am not gonna sleep with youSmile

Regards,
E

Me:

Who asked you to sleep with me?

You are very strange...

Btw, if anybody goes to Chisinau, my favorite hangout, restaurant, date place is:

http://www.tripadvisor.com/Restaurant_Re...trict.html

There is no sign of a restaurant at the entrance. You go up a little stair, there is a terrace on your right and a door on your left. You open the door and go down the stairs: perfect little restaurant Smile

The address on tripadvisor is wrong. It is on strada eminescu, just on the left of theater eminescu, looking at the map
