Haven't looked at this thread much before, but I'm starting today. The drinking wagon challenge has been very effective for me so far, so I'm ready to add this challenge on top of it. I've been halfheartedly working on NoFap this year so far, but with little success. Time to commit and begin achieving the results!

I find two things essential for succeeding in eliminating bad habits:
1. Deeply Understanding Your Why
This is why my NoFap attempts have failed to date. In order to quit something that's such an ingrained habit, I have to know the results I will get from it and the benefits to expect, as well as why continuing is not beneficial. Increased energy, focus and drive to succeed with women are some of the reasons I'm getting into this. Self-control is also something that builds on itself, and increasing self-control in one area makes you more effective in utilizing it in other areas.

2. Having A Supportive Community To Encourage And Hold You Accountable
Having somewhere to go where you are reminded of what's important and able to interact with others on the same journey is extremely effective in staying committed. I'll read through this thread to see the challenges and benefits others have experienced, and come back here for encouragement through reading posts regularly.

I look forward to taking on this challenge that you guys have been posting about for 102 pages!

I've been dabbling in NPNF for a few years now... I've cut way back on porn and fapping during this time, but I usually dont make it more then a few months before I slip up. I'd say 4 months is probably the longest I have gone.

I was at 3 months no porn no fap until Sunday... I relapsed and porn'd and fap'd. Monday I did go to the gym an had a reasonable workout.... However the past two days I haven't even left my apartment. I've been laying on the couch all day both days just surfing the web. Ordering delivery food so I don't have to venture out. The weather has been a little shitty but not that shitty... I'm really feeling a energy drain. It's also a slippery slope cause I've been checking out some mild or softcore porn ever since I relapsed. Even a touch of hardcore here an there but I haven't fapped again.

I honestly want to just go out in the woods somewhere with no cellphone or laptop for a month or so an completely detox not only from porn but all the other bullshit technology thats rotting my brain.

I fapped this morning.

Tomorrow begins my NoPorn/NoFap journey.

I know I can do it. The longest I went NPNF was something like 3 months.

Lord give me power.

I keep getting to day 4/5 and breaking. Today is day 3. I made the mistake of telling my friends that I've resolved to stop jerking off and now I'm getting ribbed about it every weekend. They are good guys though.

This newly popular fight against 'degeneracy' has been motivating. It looks like a lot of us are taking up the call to be better men which is encouraging.

I've been sleeping longer, cutting my portion sizes, studying more and drinking less as well. I'm finding that this discipline kick is making changes on other areas a little less daunting. There was a post on redpill the other day that said something to the effect of "so you aren't achieving the gains you were hoping for, have you tried working twice as hard?" It got to me a little bit.

RE: NoPorn / NoFap Google Group - For Those Who're Serious - ShotgunUppercuts - 01-19-2017 05:16 PM

Saw that same post.i haven't been studying because I have been bullshiting around with my time after work .

Today getting off work this shorty can up to the job in some leggings showing off her perfect ass (man,y'all should have seen it smh) .that energy that went away that I had for the first few weeks of no fap rushed back and now ,I'm trying to use it to do something productive. I don't think there's any porn out there now that could make me do the deed .Like working out.my cousin is coming back into town this weekend I just might tag along with him to find biddies in every corner of this city .im gonna put this phone down and do just that.

50 days in a few hours. Fuck outta here ,let's keep it up fellas.

One further tip for those on the journey:

Make sure you leave your tablet, cell phone or laptop away from your bed if you're tempted to wank off there to porn. I've found if you eliminate the ease of the device behind handy (I keep my cell phone plugged in on a desk far away from bed) it forces me to get out to bed in the morning and not wakeup and start the day with porn. Instead, I get out of bed, make breakfast and hit the gym.

Also highly advise installing the following Chrome plug-in:

https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/stayfocusd/laankejkbhbdhmipfmgcngdelahlfoji

It is a self-imposed timer for sites that you define like facebook. While FB technically isn't porn, there are plenty of scantily clad women on there that can wear down your resistance to actual porn and wanking. Limit time spent on FB (or any other non-porn site) that can lead you into temptation, and you'll be more successful in your efforts.

First week completed, I have now entered the uncharted waters.

RE: NoPorn / NoFap Google Group - For Those Who're Serious - Jean Gabin - 01-23-2017 05:17 AM

In. I don't like to count it day by day (try it, feels more natural and less forced), must be about 3 weeks in now. Yesterday I survived what is usually the worst kind of day, combination of bad hangover, hungry and shitty weather outside. My mind wandered a few times to open up some porn, but didn't cave in. Seems I'll be in for a good run!

I don't like this whole circlejerk thing around nofap but speaking n=1 it definitely has its benefits:
- Much tighter game
- Clear mind which helps me with work, when I get a shit test I can just break through with a lot of ease, much better texting game/escalation
- Confidence goes up about 2 points which for me is almost the sweet spot between natural and not being over the top
- Might be BS but I also feel my voice deeper and seems women notice it (have some examples), might just be the confidence
- Sex feels better plus can rock a real real hard one

Not all benefits, some cons I also experience, but they don't weigh up to the benefits:
- After about 2 weeks of NoFap without a lay, my standards drop significantly
- When your mind goes to porn it's hard to get back to normal, which can sometimes fuck half a work day up for me
- Around the week 2 mark your dick for some days just feels like any other body part
- Relapses can turn into some 24 hour binge https://cdn.pastemagazine.com/www/articles/RANDY-MARSH-quotes-internet-porn.jpg

Stay strong brothers!

Day 53.

That is all.

RE: NoPorn / NoFap Google Group - For Those Who're Serious - FilipSRB - 01-23-2017 08:44 PM

I had my first wet dream in almost 4 years this morning. Other then that, the challenge is going a bit easier then expected, which I contribute to improvements in health since starting a new supplement regime and higher levels of work and school related stress.

RE: NoPorn / NoFap Google Group - For Those Who're Serious - YoungBlade - 01-25-2017 08:11 AM

Godsdamnit. Five days. Fucking Lena Nersesian.

RE: NoPorn / NoFap Google Group - For Those Who're Serious - Ethan Hunt - 01-25-2017 11:03 AM

A total of 18 days this year which means I've failed for a total of 7 days. Sometimes more than once. At the moment I am on day 6 on my current NFNP stint. First few days are the toughest.

RE: NoPorn / NoFap Google Group - For Those Who're Serious - Corollary - 01-26-2017 11:53 AM

It's been a month.

I've always had an easy time denying myself things (maybe I'd make a good monk), so it hasn't been too difficult so far.

As far as benefits, I'm not sure what they are. I've been going out every night so far this month with varying levels of success. If anything, I'm much more social than I was this time last month. I don't know if nofap gets the credit for that though.

Impressive !

Please give us some details on how easy or difficult it has been, and the symptoms and/or feelings you have experienced so far.

RE: NoPorn / NoFap Google Group - For Those Who're Serious - John Michael Kane - 01-31-2017 04:16 AM

Been almost a month now and going strong. I've deleted a lot of images from my phone that I had downloaded or girls had sent me in the past that aren't "Porn" per se, but are sexually suggestive enough that they certainly are a temptation. Felt good getting rid of them. I'm working hard on putting together a new business venture, and porn/jacking off is a huge energy and time distraction from getting work done. Instead of putting the energy in my balls into porn/fapping, I'm putting it into work. I really want to be location independent by the end of the year, so I can travel and wife shop. Gotta start saving my money and sperm for my future children. Big Grin

RE: NoPorn / NoFap Google Group - For Those Who're Serious - Ethan Hunt - 01-31-2017 06:15 AM

Back up to 12 days which is equal to my best so far this year. I think the longest I've ever lasted was 14 days but I'm determined to last longer.

Can't say I feel better or worse. I've been quite busy so not really noticed but as I start a new job soon and have better time during the day I will be adding nutrition and fitness. So will see actually improvements throughout February. Aiming to be totally reset by April 1st.

RE: NoPorn / NoFap Google Group - For Those Who're Serious - ShotgunUppercuts - 01-31-2017 12:55 PM

I don't know why the he'll I can't quote homie up there but I'll still post about it.

In the beginning it was hard, really hard.i didn't make it any easier because I was so horny I'd look at porn or search for pawg gifs (I like a woman with a nice ass, that's my thing.....and there's nothing you can do about it.) .i did that for weeks on end and still somehow fought the good fight.

That horny "MAN!!!!! I HAVE TO FUCK SOMETHING !!!" Rage never goes away.it just hides until you see your type of girl ,and when you do it alllllll comes back in full force.so much so, that I couldn't get home fast enough to use that energy to workout.

The last time I went out was on New Years night to a packed bar.i was kinda iffy at first but once I grabbed my nutz and said fuck it I'm goin in ,I had little to no social anxiety .i approached a girl started talking to a few guys n there which led to me meeting this Puerto Rican cat there that was cool. To me to follow him and next thing I know I'm dancing with two girls .the bar closes soon after so I just met him and a girl he came with at another spot and had a good time.

Another thing I noticed is a have a deeper voice. When my dad calls and I say hello,he say something along the lines of "shit I didn't know I called Barry white ". Haha

The main thing that really help me was simply tapping a piece of paper to my wall in my room and writing in that line at 12 am every night .thats really something I look forward to everyday .

I'm just waiting for the summer to get here so I can holla at shorties and practice what I've been learning here .

Quoting is disabled on mobile. Long posts (like yours) should be done on a computer to avoid grammar and spelling errors.

RE: NoPorn / NoFap Google Group - For Those Who're Serious - ShotgunUppercuts - 01-31-2017 02:11 PM

Ah ok.

I don't have a computer so I'll have a sharper eye next time.

If you're using Chrome on Android, you can hit the contextual menu and select "request desktop site". You can pinch-zoom in and use the quote function.

Or you can manually type out the following:
