RE: NoPorn / NoFap Google Group - For Those Who're Serious - Alex Snow - 03-22-2017 09:10 AM

I ended a 9 day streak because my sex drive was so low practically non existent, I got frustrated and panicked that nothing could arouse me. I instantly got onto a new streak (day 3) and that flat line has still continued after the relapse, I never thought this would be possible. I also felt nothing during the relapse.

Is it normal to have a flat line after you relapse? Or have I broke something?

I guess my only option is to keep going. I've read flat lines can last for weeks or even months, looks like I have no choice but to 'reboot' now.

flatlines are normal. It might take a few weeks before it resolves it self.

9 days is nothing....try a flatline of 1 or 2 months.
Next time, read the last 20 pages of this thread so you know what to expect.

There's much older books on NoFap than that.

I've been messing about with this for a while. I'm about 3 weeks in to my current streak, but I have been fucking a couple of different girls.

The effects are somewhat real in that every time I do it, my strength gains in the gym accelerate and I move through plateaus, my voice gets more resonant, I get more comfortable socially and better at body language and eye contact, and I get laid with new girls. However, the getting laid part is down to having more sex drive, not to women finding me more attractive. The negative is that I cum extremely quickly from penetration when not really drunk or using a condom, but I don't really care about that too much.

I think I've found one of the keys to my relapses. Had another one today. The common thread to my relapses is boredom. When I don't have anything productive to do the urge gets the best of me. I will have to start reading a book or grab the kettlebell when the temptation arises. This has helped with anxiety around girls. I tend to overthink in the some situations around girls and loose my natural edge. Need to work on not putting so much thought into other people's opinions.

One thing that helps me is something my rugby coach told us for conditioning: "Do thirty push-ups every time you think about jerking off."

That sends the urge away real quick.

Day 8

RE: NoPorn / NoFap Google Group - For Those Who're Serious - sonoran_ - 03-23-2017 04:45 PM

at day 49 i was so close to relapsing i actually had opened up some scenes on incognito on my phone but i denied myself.

So Ive been a hermit for a couple of months and today I met this one very cute girl at my dads office. What I noticed in myself is that my voice was deep and confident, my posture was open and manly and my eye contact was pretty good as well.

It helped that she had an outgoing and friendly attitude, Im already getting onenitis for her haha.

2 weeks mark or so. Feeling so hungry and confident. Going out with 3 girls (1 already gamed) this evening, me being the only man tard Pretty convinced if I would have been fapping things would have been different.

Are there pornography filters for Chrome and Mozilla?

RE: NoPorn / NoFap Google Group - For Those Who're Serious - Dalaran1991 - 03-24-2017 04:15 AM

I'm a non-believer, and still attributes the no-fap increased attraction from girls to confirmation bias, or the fact that you are horny and actively seeking out IOIs.

However, the other day I was on a 4 day no-fap due to too much work. I went out to a dancing venue with a fellow RVF and this happened:

I got approached 5 times by girls inviting me to dance.

This VERY rarely happens and I've been in this salsa game for almost 2 years. And funnily enough that night, most of the time I wasn't even looking for it. I was looking around for my buddy to see how he's doing and these girls just keep tapping me on my shoulder asking me to dance. 3 are WB, 1 WNB, 1 Would Bang and Marry.

That was too suspicious to be mere coincidence. So 2 possibilities:

-Either the ratio that night was highly favorable, so the girls asked guys to dance
-Or this no fap thing works, and it is some fucking Jedi mind trick because it works when you dont even expect it.

I lean heavily into the first possibility because, I didnt noticed any increased attraction from day-to-day activities. It was only that night.

However this is prompting me to give this a proper try at no fap (I no longer need porn), just in case it does really work.

I'm going out Sat again and will test this.

RE: NoPorn / NoFap Google Group - For Those Who're Serious - sterling_archer - 03-24-2017 04:48 AM

4 days of nofap seems to me too short to reap the whole benefits described when you hit 90 days or around this number. Probably it was first possibility, but still, you should try it!

RE: NoPorn / NoFap Google Group - For Those Who're Serious - eskimobobseal - 03-24-2017 11:20 PM

The biggest issue I'm having is pop ups and ads with half naked women on the side of news websites. I see them while reading an article, one thing leads to another and then I'm watching porn, almost every time.

There's gotta be something I can do to clean up the ads I'm seeing.

Now you understand how your natural sexual urges are being hijacked and manipulated on a daily basis by those who run things. Once you quit porn and stop fapping (and start to reboot) you notice a lot more how fake stimulation is shoved in your face everywhere you look each day.

"Harmless" websites, posters, billboards, pictures, TV commercials, even sexual sounds, all beome serious triggers....and you see how deeply your brain and senses have been corrupted by years and years of subtle brainwashing.

Man's natural state is to be turned on by the sight or presence of a real woman he can make eye contact with and talk to...anything else is a perversion of that.

RE: NoPorn / NoFap Google Group - For Those Who're Serious - sonoran_ - 03-25-2017 09:37 AM

Watched a video for 1st time in ~50 days last night (amateurs). Throughout the entire night I've never been more horny in my life. Even during sleep, my subconscious was telling me to MO.

I feel like this hornyness has given a new wave of energy , but you have to be able to control it. It would be impossible for a normal person to not relapse after watching that 1 video.

RE: NoPorn / NoFap Google Group - For Those Who're Serious - Wutang - 03-26-2017 12:29 AM

C.S. Lewis in a letter to a friend once wrote about masturbation. His writings might seem out of place on a game forum and he of course writes from a Christian perspective and from a sense that might seem to be 'blue pill' but I think guys can still learn certain lessons from it even if they ignore other ones.

Quote:For me the real evil of masturbation would be that it takes an appetite which, in lawful use, leads the individual out of himself to complete (and correct) his own personality in that of another (and finally in children and even grandchildren) and turns it back: sends the man back into the prison of himself, there to keep a harem of imaginary brides. And this harem, once admitted, works against his ever getting out and really uniting with a real woman. For the harem is always accessible, always subservient, calls for no sacrifices or adjustments, and can be endowed with erotic and psychological attractions which no real woman can rival. Among those shadowy brides he is always adored, always the perfect lover: no demand is made on his unselfishness, no mortification ever imposed on his vanity. In the end, they become merely the medium through which he increasingly adores himself . . . . And it is not only the faculty of love which is thus sterilized, forced back on itself, but also the faculty of imagination.

The true exercise of imagination, in my view, is (a) To help us to understand other people (b) To respond to, and, some of us, to produce, art. But it has also a bad use: to provide for us, in shadowy form, a substitute for virtues, successes, distinctions etc. which ought to be sought outside in the real world—e.g. picturing all I’d do if I were rich instead of earning and saving. Masturbation involves this abuse of imagination in erotic matters (which I think bad in itself) and thereby encourages a similar abuse of it in all spheres. After all, almost the main work of life is to come out of our selves, out of the little, dark prison we are all born in. Masturbation is to be avoided as all things are to be avoided which retard this process. The danger is that of coming to love the prison.

https://www.firstthings.com/blogs/firstthoughts/2014/02/escaping-the-prison-of-the-self

One of the things he discusses which I think does apply to guys working in a game forum is the "harem of imaginary brides" he speaks of above. He was writing this long before the internet and if the damage he is talking about was already so great back then, think about how much destructive it must be in the age of free HD internet porn. How many stories have we heard from guys talking about how their porn use has pretty much destroyed their libido when it comes to women in the flesh? One of the dangers he talks about from the imaginary harem is how it allows men to get easy release without actually having to put in any sort of work or risk. Sounds pretty similar to the guy who is unmotivated to do any sort of approaching cause it's easier to just sit in front of his computer and fap.

Excellent find Wutang

C. S. Lewis died in 1963 so it was written definetely before that.

5 weeks in. I went over a week without ejaculating due to traveling and stuff, probably close to 2 weeks. The first times I was QUICK, then I went back to normal ejaculation times. It was very scary, I thought I had PE for real! Everything's going great, the superpowers are not getting bigger but...they have deepened if that makes sense;still waiting for that flatline...

I've been a non-believer for a long time. I have high T naturally, am prone to anger and poor impulse control at times, and view fapping as a way to calm down. Like that scene from Wolf of Wall St when Matthew McConaughey's character tells Leo to jerk one off if you are stressed. God gave us two hands, right? Not saying this is entirely true, but with proof that having fewer ejaculations leads to prostate cancer, its a way to justify it in my mind. I also believe it can help with insomnia and depression.

I firmly believe now that regular porn usage is harmful. Even more so now. We know all of the reasons its bad and the harm it does. I believe now its more harmful to men in relationships and marriages, than single men, in the fantasies and scenes it creates in desperate men. Separating porn use from fapping, and eliminating porn usage, is the first step for any man wanting to change.

As a single man, its easier to fap. Once or twice before I go to sleep, once when I wake up. Thats usually the routine.

I have an app where I keep track of reoccurring daily tasks, and continual projects with numbers. I use it to track fapping. This weekend, Fri-Sunday morning, I have fapped now 4x. 2x at night before bed, each night, without using any porn, right before I fall asleep. At most I look at Snapchat, Tinder or Instagram. Or pics on my phone from girls I am dating, or screenshots from Tinder. This is my standard routine. Its likely I am fapping up to 10x per week, maybe more.

I am in my early 40's. I have occasional ED I believe from anxiety. I have regular and frequent sex with the girls I am dating, no complaints with approach anxiety or lack of sex. But I have never really tried no fap, or to reduce the amount of times I fap in a week. Porn is almost entirely gone from my view, but I like to just look at nude women.

My first goal is to get it down to once a day. After that, 3-5x a week. I will track this with my app. My fear is that I could become too aggressive, but I will only know when I try. Over the holidays when I had a 5 day streak, literally the longest one I can ever remember not fapping on purpose, I flatlined. But it was more like something was buried deep inside of me and it needed real coaxing to come out. I want to feel like that all the time.

So... tracking every day with no porn, reducing slowly, then 3-5x per week, then 1x week. Then who knows, maybe I will quit for a while for good.

Two weeks done. Been close a few times but soldiered on (no pun intended).

Had a few lays with a LTR i hang with didn't last very long lol.

Noticeable difference in my demeanor and confidence has risen a little which is great.

I did my first approach of the year yesterday, didn't close and could have stayed in the interaction longer, kinda gay... Felt good though and a different kind of freedom.

Three months.

I haven't noticed any benefits other than the increase in self-discipline required for adherence. I'm not actively looking for any benefits though.

If you really are naturally high in testosterone, I predict you will be totally shocked by the amazing symptoms you will expierence if you manage to not fap for at least 14 days.

You will become a wild animal and girls will love it.

The prostate cancer/no masturbation link is one of the biggest lies out there.
Don't believe that bullshit.

Seems strange not to have any positive symptoms at all.
Did you really manage 90 days with no porn and no fapping ?
Were you having sex during that time ?
