Try to match that record again and report your symptoms here while you do it.

When you get to day 20, keep trying for another 10 days, and see what happens.

I have been trying to do that for 2 months now and throughout all of my relapses here is what I have noticed:

Up until this moment I have been using porn as a form of escapism, not all the times but usually when I feel an incredible wave of boredom or anxiety. Even though I know that I have other things to do I forget about them or I feel like I have to first rub one out before I start doing anything.

I have been averaging 5-7 times a month for the last two months now and they were pretty much for the reasons I stated above. I know logically that when the urge hits if I let it be there for some time it will subside but I am impatient with it while at the same time I can let other far more uncomfortable bodily sensations in my body to run their course and subside. For example, I no longer feel swayed by the urge to scratch myself when I itch during meditation no matter how sharp it is and yet I succumb to the urge to fap which is weaker than the itches (at least this is how I feel it in my body).

That leads me to believe that I am deliberately letting myself engage in that behaviour because I'm not ready to give up this habit in my life. I managed to give up eating chocolate or at least get it in very small doses once a week and I no longer feel the urge to buy when I am out. I overcame the urge to scratch my itches when I meditate. I have committed to other habits successfully in my life but porn is the one thing that has been out of grasp so far. I don't believe that I need to hit rock-bottom to give it up as I haven't been in that situation when I changed my other habits so there must be something else that I'm doing wrong.

Porn and fapping works like heroin or crack cocaine.
Trying to quit causes all sorts of weird reactions in the male brain.
Huge amounts of dopamine are released in your brain when you look at porn and/or masturbate.
It is fapping and porn itself which causing the impatience and anxiety you feel.

Have you tried blocking porn on all your devices ? Without triggers it is a lot easier to stay on course.

Also, you will need to spend more time in public and less time alone, so that fapping isn't even possible. Sleep with your bedroom door open and use ice cold water on your head and body when you get urges. Read the last 20 pages or more of this thread for more ideas.

This isn't like any other addiction.
You have to use very powerful measures to overcome it.

That is not helpful.
Looking at before and after pics of women who used to attractive but are now ugly does nothing useful for the male brain to quit this addiction.

A deep voice and slow & powerful speaking (2 things which girls both love) is a great benefit of NoFap.

Your physical appearance is only "ugly" to girls if you are fat, terribly dressed, act weak, act really closed & timid in your body language, or are really old...im talking like over 70. So unless you fall into 1 of those 5 categories, your "appearance" should not an issue.

3 questions for you which will help others here get to 90 days, and may help you figure you why you didn't approach girls:

1.
Can you tell us what methods you used to avoid relapsing when you got tempted ?

2.
Did you change your diet during the 90 days at all ?

3.
Were you exercising, weight lifting or doing any other physical activity during the 90 days ?
If not, how did you use the extra time ?

..

-Diet did not change, Ive been on a "bulking " diet since before I started the streak.

- Ive been lifting weights and doing more cardio (HIIT) to increase stamina.

-Regarding temptation, this was my 4-5th attempt at a streak. I just made up my mind to not relapse and while the temptation were high for the 1st month, I got over it. After that it was a breeze to overcome the urge to relapse. Like I mentioned before, I would even watch porn for a bit during this time period and not fap, which I felt was like next level discipline haha.

- Regarding my appearance, it could be due to my closed of body language and my resting bitch face syndrome.

Day 5 check in.

I give props to you guys for doing this.

I guess I had underestimated how much this had become a part of my routine.

I haven't cracked and luckily I rarely if ever watch porn.

I have noticed I feel a little bit more grounded and alert.

The struggle is honestly real.

I feel like some of the more successful members must be older or have a naturally lower libido than I. Because as a horny mofo in his early 20's, I can barely make it a week.

I'm 23, I tried several times without getting over the 8 days mark. Then I broke my dry-spell and here I am, under 20 days to get to the 90 days mark. I still want to watch porn some times, but it's easier to say no knowing that I will bang several times along the week. But this is not the point.

The point is that I broke my dryspell thanks to doing NoFap, I was on day 6 where I made it. And you can feel the effects starting on day 5 (at least in my experience). I went for the kill that day like never before, my whole body wanted it, not only my Game Persona. This is why, even if you keep relapsing, you should be in NoFap, I believe 100% that it will make things easier, even by just passing the 5-7 days mark.

Of course you can! I'm 21 and have done 50 days before

The trick is to redirect that libido to chasing real women.

RE: NoPorn / NoFap Google Group - For Those Who're Serious - ziggystardust - 05-01-2017 04:15 PM

Props to those who are maintaining lengthy streaks in their 20's. It's humbling to admit that I might just not have the self control yet. But I can't stress how easy it is to cave. Quitting smoking must be easier then this, you actually have to go out and buy (overpriced) tobacco from a store. While images of sexy women are accessible in the millions with few finger movements.

Make no mistake, for me, the difference between 2-3 days without tugging my cock and zero days feels astronomical. I've known this for a while. Even before the movement became an online cult. My energy, libido, confidence increase during these times. And the contrast can't simply be explained by placebo alone. My work-outs feel better and my dink feels harder. But to say this hasn't been a ride without constant resets and set backs is almost underselling the experience. The rewards are motivating, but the drug of masturbation and porno is more addictive.

No, it's not masturbation per se that is rewarding. it's a consequence of cognitive, physiological, and mechanical stimulation that brings about the orgasm - the process which makes your organism produce neurochemicals (such as dopamine) making you experience pleasure that is so great, you want to repeat it again and again and again, which in turn becomes addictive and taking control over your life.

In the past, before invention of paper, photography and moving images, a male had much limited visual stimulation. Now, watching porn ad libitum, your mind gets tricked these things are real, when they actually aren't. Therefore, an essential element of noFap is to stop looking at porn images/videos

Congratulations.
Feels good doesn't it ?
When you get to day 21...do another 5 days, then post back here.

No, my balls ache Confused But nofap serves a more 'splendid' purpose.

I'm 3+ weeks in, I don't feel like choking the chicken, I feel my drive subsided but not to the level it would after choking the chicken. I generally stopped watching porn long time ago, with occasional bouts but I don't actually feel much need now. However, when I see sexy girl out and about, I feel urge to talk to her and as soon as I get one on a date, I'll be aggressively moving things forward, instead of being chill.

RE: NoPorn / NoFap Google Group - For Those Who're Serious - Mrredsquare - 05-02-2017 03:34 AM

Seven weeks done, porn rarely enters my head these days.

Getting laid about once a week my orgasm is way more intense.

Still having to much alcohol, going to cut back on that soon.

Good luck guys keep it up (literally) Smile

The feeling of substituting porn with making approaches is fantastic. Really can't beat it, creates a new scope to life.

I'm still busting way early it's never happened before i started this lol. Any other tips to desensitize and last longer I'm literally lost for ideas ?

RE: NoPorn / NoFap Google Group - For Those Who're Serious - eddie_7 - 05-03-2017 02:18 AM

Managed to abstain for 3-4 days but I relented today. What I found out was that before the urge to fap, for me at least, there is a subtle background thought/desire that lurks and grows stronger until it breaks my will.

I'll now aim for a full week.

You will adjust in due time, it took me like 3 weeks to go back to normal busting times. Man that was hard in my self-steem, had to really call for my inner game.

So just don't get too much inside your head, know that it is normal in the beginning and DON'T fap thinking that it will solve it. I thought about that, and it seemed rational, but it's not, since you will be able to perform normally again.

Cracked last night.

Tried to sleep but that dreaded feeling in the pit of my stomach came with a vengeance.

Any tips on how to get over the feeling when trying to sleep?

Aiming for that day 10.

Insomnia is a common symptom.
You gotta keep your mind focused...either lift something heavy in your home over and over until you are tired or read something deep and interesting.
If you are even partially religious, I recommend a bible, buddhist text or anything else that you feel most closely aligned to. For some this sounds laughable...but trust me it works to calm your mind down.

RE: NoPorn / NoFap Google Group - For Those Who're Serious - sonoran_ - 05-03-2017 12:32 PM

Basically reached day 90 and during a semi conscious state during sleep my mind decided to relapse. The shitty thing about relapse is that you dont just do it once, you do it multiple times thinking might as well since I already relapsed.

So in the past 8 hours ( mostly sleeping) I fapped 3 times already.

RE: NoPorn / NoFap Google Group - For Those Who're Serious - Kid Twist - 05-03-2017 01:19 PM

When you're around a nice, feminine woman you easily cease to contemplate digital anything. Make that your goal. Find out just how repulsive the substitute for the real thing. What's nice is that you'll not have any inkling towards it, it'll just not occur to you to bother with it.

Now keeping that up over the long term might be difficult but stay strong, gents. If you haven't had quality female company for a while please please please listen to us that tell you the testosterone high that you get without fapping after months is a strong, strong force. When you get there you'll want to drain the balls but also you won't want to mess up your streak with what you now realize is entirely a false notion and feeling.

RE: NoPorn / NoFap Google Group - For Those Who're Serious - ExploringReality - 05-03-2017 01:37 PM

I think I-m coming back. I was with one of the girls, just lying on the grass, nothing sexual, and I was completely hard. She's coming tonight, thanks to the gods. Also, when in the street, I'm looking at asses and hips and hair and lips and necks again, good. And the mires, oh the mires, crazy, like, fuckin crazy. Now, I'm in the best shape of my life, and I reached a good style sense, so it might have something to do, but still, I'm amazed. Why was a fat beta fuck porn addict in the first place? Wtf is doing this society to our growing men? Sad!

Merc, you are doing God's work, like, literally. I'm doing my part too, just sharing the good news with friends, they think I'm crazy "what do you mean you don't fap lol", but one tried for some days and was happy with it.
