How do you non-fappers manage "morning glory"?

Anyway, I could see how it could be benefitial for low-libido men, but I actually flirted with a distante relative at a wedding once - if I removed fapping completely I would probably turn to zoophilia.

I get morning wood most days but never jerk off in the morning.

Have a morning routine so you're not dicking around.

It doesn't have to be some super specialized Tim Ferris guru BS, but a few habits will get you rolling in the morning.

When I wake up the first thing is to make coffee, then I stumble around and drink water while it's cooking..once it's done I sit down in my living room and turn on my Sunbox to read and drink coffee. Then the coffee hits, the sunbox is shining bright in my face, and I'm wide awake, ready to kick ass.

Also...after years of experience, I KNOW that if I jack of in the morning, the next few hours I'll be super low energy. I do not want that in my life.

That's the point.

Day 8 relapse.

Found the "Bondage/Domination thread" on RVF, all was well until somebody linked a BDSM tumblr page. Then it was game over.

My goal is to go till the end of the year. Hopefully get a bang too. Small towns + work and school = minimal dates let alone lays. Gotta work on approaching and I might get on tinder too. My main focus is making money and starting my business, however some squeeze on the side would be nice too. Until that happens this will be another round of NoFap hardcore mode. Good luck gents!

Just passed 3 weeks. The advice from redbeard on having a morning routine is spot on.

I wake up, make coffee, bacon and eggs, and listen to a podcast while cooking. Then enjoy breakfast.

After, I'll go outside for a smoke. Coffee, bacon, and smoking motivate me to get out of bed quite easily.

Last couple of days I've had some mood swings. I can't tell if it's from stress or nofap. On the positive side, I've noticed more confidence and a deeper voice.

Glad you enjoy.

The key is to get out of bed and get moving. When you're lying in bed trying to get things going your brain is still going slow, it's much easier to fall prey to your animal brain.

Get your brain turned on, you suddenly remember your goals, plans, and VISION.

This is one of my favorite podcasts from MikeCF:

https://www.dangerandplay.com/2015/07/18/how-to-have-more-energy/

I've posted about it countless times but it's still very useful.

Once you have a clear life vision, you have constant motivation to get up and get going.

The point of the morning routine is to take you from groggy animal brain into motivated vision mode.

If your vision is to get absolutely yoked, you can put posters in your room to remind you about bodybuilders. You'll wake up...feel groggy....see the poster, and suddenly remember what your goals are. Who has time for jerking off when you're so committed to your life vision?

I'm gonna get roasted by some of the Anti-Trumpers here, but I've got Trump gear all over my house. When I wake up and see all the MAGA, no matter how sleepy I am, I remember what my goals are for myself and I get going. I think about how little the President sleeps, and how I should stop being a little bitch and get going.

Very possible. Dopamine is a helluva drug and masks many emotions (good and bad).

It's a rainy day and I'm a bit bored.

So I install Tinder and log into my old account. I swipe right a couple of times and get a lot of matches. I feel the rush, check up the girls' insta, get a boner and imagine in vivid detail what to do to them. I feel great.

Fast forward 24h and all the energy is drained out of me. I can't concentrate nor motivate me to do something meaningful.

Tinder + Instagram are as bad as porn. Day 0.

Well done !
To help other men, please tell us how you managed to reach 50 days.
What techniques or methods did you use to overcome temptations ?
Also, how much has your mood fluctuated over the 50 days ?

RE: NoPorn / NoFap Google Group - For Those Who're Serious - sterling_archer - 09-27-2017 10:31 AM

Worst for me were always first two weeks. I don't know which attempt this is as I always failed around day 15, 16 or so. First time I ever did this challenge (last year) I managed to do 30 days or little more. After that I struggled for months to break mentioned 2 weeks boundary.

As I have some kind of diary where I put thoughts on various things, I decided to write couple of times what went wrong and made me fail. I discovered that there were not really many triggers but state of mind was real reason. I haven't been enough educated about this whole thing.
I collected myself and thought about how good I felt until that dreaded fail and decided firmly that I will try to break the record. I read a lot about porn, its industry, I am familiar already who promotes it, I become familiar with its effect on brain. Regarding fapping, I went from the fact of benefits on psychological level and not religious one (I think this religious aspect is BS).

So these two weeks passed and I begun to feel same changes I felt first time I did this challenge. Memory got better, energy levels up, I sometimes woke up before alarm, always enough sleep no matter how much hours I slept and so on. I got better view on other people, especially noticing stuff I didn't before. Like eye contacts, etc.

Temptations. I feel them every now and then. Especially on this forum that is full on NSFW images. I avoid generally these threads but I am sometimes surprised by some posts which come out of blue on some unrelated thread. Same thing is on the other sites. I have anti porn addons for Mozilla on computer and for mobile. I don't look at XXX sections on torrent sites. Basically, I just avoid porn but if I come across I don't panic or go immediately break the record. Calming down and thinking reasonably does the trick of overcoming them. One can also attempt to wash his face with cold water.

Mood swings are sometimes present. Nothing much to add here. For example last week I was bit bored no matter how much things I did, and couple of weeks ago I found joy in basic random things I saw. Nevertheless, my energy levels are always high so I don't ever feel the need to go sleep entire day.

Negatively, it's draining the life out of me, I feel braindead after binges which are common now.

Porn and masturbation cause real brain damage.
Most guys have trouble believing this.

Improved eyesight is one of the best benefits.

The improvement isn't so much in reading letters on a chart like when you take an eye exam, but rather you will notice things like colors becoming much more vivid, the contrast between colors is more defined, text that you read will look sharper, and you have a much greater sense of picking up small details in everything...like seeing tiny logos or patterns on objects that you have owned for years, but never noticed before.

RE: NoPorn / NoFap Google Group - For Those Who're Serious - sterling_archer - 09-27-2017 12:55 PM

By better view, I also referred to noticing subtle signals of other people, not just colors, body language becoming more obvious to me.

Just hit 60 days. I have to admit thought that while I've stayed away from porn including soft-core stuff and I haven't blown a load I can't say that I'm fully committing to completely free of PMO. I'm not full out gripping my schlong and masturbating but I do have a habit of pinching the tip of my penis in a stimulating matter while having images of women in my head, especially during the early morning when I'm still in bed in a semi-groggy state. I don't get anywhere near orgasm except for this morning I did have a close call but thankfully stopped myself in time. Anyone else dealing with this or are you guys all completely PMO free?

RE: NoPorn / NoFap Google Group - For Those Who're Serious - Kid Twist - 09-30-2017 07:18 PM

The morning dream wake state is the biggest challenge of all, in my estimation. That and being idle for hours at a time, alone. Just try to get busy, avoid, be around people, keep working on extending all the abstinence. You have to realize that while it's all damaging, each long course you go abstaining teaches you something and helps in the long term re: healing.

RE: NoPorn / NoFap Google Group - For Those Who're Serious - pft123 - 10-01-2017 02:50 AM

Day 1, finger crossed. I hope I can improve my penis sensitivity, bad experience with girls I am attracted to but do not have very tight pussies.

RE: NoPorn / NoFap Google Group - For Those Who're Serious - MaceTyrell - 10-01-2017 06:01 AM

So my attempts at lasting a week fell apart...did it roughly 4 times since I said I would on Tuesday.

In terms of causes, IG is definitely a major one. I manage the IG for a local small business, and have been following IG thots and commenting on their photos in an attempt to generate followers (which honestly is low yield...I'm really just doing that to follow IG thots and comment on their photos).

Am thinking I should unfollow them.

RE: NoPorn / NoFap Google Group - For Those Who're Serious - The Stronger Sex - 10-01-2017 07:33 AM

Fapping aside, I think following bitches around like a lap dog boosting their self-esteem is beta as fuck.
