On day 13 here. This has been extremely difficult. I made it to day 21 on my previous streak before screwing up. I edged thinking nothing would happen then the temptation just completely took over. The hardest part is fighting through the urges to look at porn as the images come flooding back into my mind, mostly when I least expect it.

I feel like I'm getting a taste of what it's like to quit drugs or alcohol.

RE: NoPorn / NoFap Google Group - For Those Who're Serious - Georges89 - 01-30-2018 12:46 PM

In order to 'reboot' my life and make a fresh beginning, I've been quitting things that aren't good for me. I stopped smoking a couple years ago, and recently drinking (on the 1yr challenge).

It's probably for a lot of us, and certainly in my case, that we have these certain habits that simply become ingrained in our day to day life. Addictions that blend into the background, that we simply aren't aware of. Possibly because we already have various problems that we are aware off. In other words, we are operating in a 'firefighting' state. Constantly getting over hangovers, or even come downs. And not able to get beyond the fundemental addictions, to begin to become aware of the more insidious addictions.

I see insidious addictions as something like, habitual and unrestrained internet browsing, an addiction to sugar, coffee & caffiene, TV, and of course, pornography and ahem.

So, now I feel I'm at that next stage of wellness, of feeling better.

Waking up feeling refreshed, sleeping deeply, getting rid of the bags under my eyes, feeling less anxious, feeling a sense of well-being. This what I'm aiming for. Not perfection of my mental state, because that is surely an impossibility on the basis of of how our minds work. You can't have positive emotions without the negative, and so on.

So, I need to work on whats next on my list of 'insidious' addictions. I think no porn / no fap could be a good one to start with. I've been trying to get on top of it for ages. No longer am I willing to let things go on like they have it. The time to deal with these habits that have been directly or indirectly reducing my sense of well-being is now. Not tomorrow, not next year. Fuck no. Now. This day.

I'm going to set myself a one month challenge and see how I get on. This PMO thing is even harder then stopping drinking or smoking IMO. Much harder.

Above all else, I miss that adolescent-like horniness that I used to get. That excitement, that rush..that certain something. I feel my libido has been blunted, perhaps as part of the 'natural' aging process, but I'm sure porn and fapping has changed my brain. Its also like its a bit blunted down there.. As if I'm not as sensitive as I once was. My penis just seems to be..dormant..if that makes any sense. Until its time for a porn session. Its as if been throwing away my sexual energy for way too long.

Its time do this. I'll post my updates as the month goes on.

Day 30. I've not been tempted to masturbate. My balls are still aching. I may be coming out of my flatline though. I'm getting hard if I think about something sexual, but not when I see attractive girls out and about. Not quite there yet.

14 days in. Going strong.

RE: NoPorn / NoFap Google Group - For Those Who're Serious - ColSpanker - 01-31-2018 12:09 PM

I had a revelation today. If frapping is akin to taking an anti-depressant, then I've spent the majority of my adult life dosing on natural Xanax. And, as a wise man once said, if your life sucks, all the happy drugs in the world won't make it better.
As of today, I flush all the contents of those white bottles down the toilet.
Just hope it lasts this time.

RE: NoPorn / NoFap Google Group - For Those Who're Serious - _Samo_ - 01-31-2018 11:25 PM

Cracked for the first time this year after 31 days of no fap, disappointed in myself as I also used porn. Felt completely disgusted as soon as I'd finished.

My downfall really was the fact I started edging a few times a week and not keeping temptation far enough away. I have since deleted all my web history and blocked any porn sites from my phone. I'm going again as of 01.02, this time no edging and completely limited any potential temptations.

Don't think I can do the full NoFap but I'm on board the NoPorn train as well as the No Drinking Bandwagon as of Jan 20.

RE: NoPorn / NoFap Google Group - For Those Who're Serious - sterling_archer - 02-01-2018 08:13 AM

Have you ever tried doing nofap, together with noporn?

RE: NoPorn / NoFap Google Group - For Those Who're Serious - juicebox - 02-01-2018 08:37 AM

Some newer research suggests that excessive porn consumption can cause some issues with ED. It is only a limited study. Masturbation has no negative side effects at all but I guess the two go together.

I may give the no porn thing a try just for sciences sake. At most it should take a month to flush the system and fully restore any neuroplasticity issues that may be impacted by porn. That said, I like porn like all healthy people do. Not too much, but the odd dose of porn is good for the soul.

Total bullshit.
Read the last 50 pages of this thread to see why you're wrong.
Stop playing with your dick for 90 days and see what happens.

Absolute bullshit
Porn destroys the masculine life energy and your inner soul more than any other vice on earth.

Can't or won't ?
Have you tried ?
Don't touch it for 10 days...then add another 5 days then another 5 after that.
Then keep going.

Sorry man but there is no medical evidence that masturbation is harmful. Medical professionals are in uniformity on the fact that it is a broadly healthy exercise. As for porn, sure, maybe that is more of a 50/50 issue. In moderation however, I see how harm.

Moderation means you don't spend 2 hours a night watching porn. 30 minutes once a week with your gf/wife has shown no medical damage. Hearsay is not evidence.

These are the same medical professionals telling you vaccines are all harmless, and the sex of children can be more than male or female, and that gender is purely created by society and can & should be modified in kids. Who are you going to trust & believe ? The medical establishment with a huge profit motive of corrupt financiers with politcial agenda to keep you weak and addicted, or over 500 respected and vetted men on RVF who have seen endless benefits firsthand and have no ulterior motive ?

FUCK THE MEDICAL ESTABLISHMENT.
BELIEVE THE AMAZING SYMPTOMS AND BENEFITS YOUR OWN BODY AND BRAIN WILL PRODUCE WHEN YOU QUIT.

It sounds to me like have never tried the 90 day challenge and don't want to.
You just want to justify your continued addiction which you can't break.

I don't think this thread is for you.

I am in med school. We study the entire human body and experience. Some of those statements you are attributing to medics belong to whack-job Sociologists. I am just stating the prevailing medical opinion.

Want something real to study ?
Use your own body to verify what is true and what is bullshit.
Test the effects on yourself of 30 to 90 days of not touching or playing with your dick.
Report back with your results in 1 to 3 months.

If you cannot find the strenth and endurance to test this on your own body, then you are just a parrot of whatever textbooks and medical establishment garbage they force you to believe like a religion.

Test on yourself. On your own body.
That's the best and only way....like everyone here has done.
Otherwise there's no point being in this thread....cause you have no real life experience of what it's like to actually quit.

Fapping and porn is all fun and games until you can't get it up with a HB7+.

RE: NoPorn / NoFap Google Group - For Those Who're Serious - Savemham Lincoln - 02-01-2018 05:06 PM

I nearly fell off the wagon on day 30 when I accidentally ran into a porn clip. It's crazy how in the heat of the addiction all rational thought is eroded. Some would say that watching that clip constitutes a relapse. Experienced physical discomfort on the day and the day after but that has cleared up now. Onward to day 60.

RE: NoPorn / NoFap Google Group - For Those Who're Serious - ShotgunUppercuts - 02-02-2018 12:55 AM

When it comes down to that its surely a test of will.

Stay up man .

I swear to God. I haven't jacked off in five days and I got stomach pain. 4's are turning into 6's.6's are turning into 8's. If I look at a 10 too long I might just jizz my pants! I have a fatty coming over this week from Tinder, but guys. What do you do on dry streaks and you have stomach pain from blue balls?

RE: NoPorn / NoFap Google Group - For Those Who're Serious - kbell - 02-05-2018 08:55 PM

You could fap without porn. Or just use a heating pad and some aloe to calm the prostate down. Works when I have flareups.

I could always do that. I thought the point of this thread was no porn and no fapping.

And... I'm back at Day 1. Stomach ache is gone
