I'm jumping back on this. Moved back to a cold country and winter had me watching way more porn than I'd like. Day 1 for me. I will reserve the right to fap but porn is out.

Hey, good for the new attempt. Even if you just get rid of porn from life (and not masturbating), you are still multiple times more advanced than majority of guys out there that don't concern themselves with all this.

18 Days. My longest stretch ever.

Day 81 coming to a close.

RE: NoPorn / NoFap Google Group - For Those Who're Serious - Mikestar - 03-23-2018 02:42 AM

Day 7, haven't done it this long since months. I am also on holiday so I don't even think twice about porn or fapping. I feel clarity, my voice is more stable. It's a shame that whenever I go abroad I can easily do nofap but as soon as I get back I am still addicted.

Day 21

RE: NoPorn / NoFap Google Group - For Those Who're Serious - Tikimalore - 03-26-2018 02:53 PM

I think just no porn is enough. I feel different when I fap to non porn pictures but not to porn.

Even if you can't do the "full" challenge and are fapping, at least eliminate all external stimulation are rely only on brain and the imagination. But here you can fall into one other trap. Years of using porn wire our brains with images that really slowly disappear and can come and go at its own will. Now what will happen is that you will fap and brain will not use imagination but instead memories of porn. What is here different than fapping to porn? Nothing at all. Same problem.

Example from today. I got suddenly a boner and for literally no reason, images, names of pornstars and even clips of video (!) showed in my head to fuel my arousal. I really struggled to get rid of these images as they were as real as the day I watched them (sometime last year).
You can see here how the neural pathways are really messed up from porn usage and I never considered myself addict. At my worst days I would fap to porn around 2 times per week maximum. Now imagine what is up with those that did it every day...

The short answer is by having sex with lots of beautiful and exotic women.

Fapping can and does reduce your chances of achieving that goal.

I agree. The way I overcame it was by replacing porn with real memories. Instead of watching/imagining porn stars and scenes I've fapped to I started imagining actual girls and actual bangs I've had. It's a self-reinforcing cycle. The more I avoid porn, the more bangs I get. The more bangs I get, the more fapping material I create myself.

Granted, this is only if you have to fap. It's much better to fap to memories of past conquests than to degenerate idolatry. It's best to not fap at all.

That said--back to day 1 for me.

RE: NoPorn / NoFap Google Group - For Those Who're Serious - Bushido - 03-27-2018 10:42 AM

Do what you think works, but your brain DOES NOT know the difference between a past conquest and porn. If you're not watching porn then you are still on the (no porn) wagon.

RE: NoPorn / NoFap Google Group - For Those Who're Serious - sterling_archer - 03-27-2018 01:18 PM

Bushido, what do you mean, I feel that first sentence contradicts your second one? Did you mean "brain doesn't know what porn is" and "it is still porn, whatever is in your head during fapping", or something else?

I fap currently not to porn, but to normal pics on instagram. But I find it much harder and more boring. Porn should be banned.

RE: NoPorn / NoFap Google Group - For Those Who're Serious - sterling_archer - 03-27-2018 03:10 PM

Here is an possible plan for you, I am not sure what reactions it will have from others but might be something to consider. First of all, many if not majority go into the challenge cold turkey. Maybe for some people gradual decrease in novelty and number per week might be the right approach.

1. If you are using porn first step is to limit its use to half the original per week.
2. Next step is substituting it with static images and not gifs/videos.
3. Cut that in half again and substitute it with imagination.
4. Limit yourself to once per week using imagination now.
5. Cut out masturbation completely.

So here is a gradual approach similar to cutting cigarettes approach. Might not be for everyone but it might be right for you!

Checking back in. Going to do full nofap
3/27

RE: NoPorn / NoFap Google Group - For Those Who're Serious - Bushido - 03-27-2018 07:00 PM

Sterling, I was responding to people saying that they had seen a "memory" from porn and felt bad about it. Watching porn and merely remembering it are two different things. As long as you're not watching you're good.

RE: NoPorn / NoFap Google Group - For Those Who're Serious - sterling_archer - 03-28-2018 01:50 AM

Ah, I get you, it made sense when I read again your reply.

RE: NoPorn / NoFap Google Group - For Those Who're Serious - Bushido - 03-28-2018 06:09 AM

7 days. Girls are being flaky as hell this week. This sucks.

RE: NoPorn / NoFap Google Group - For Those Who're Serious - Mikestar - 03-29-2018 03:48 AM

2 weeks, this is a record this year for me. I feel like a new man, I have so much more energy, I sleep less, acne decreased, mental clarity, deeper voice, no bags under eyes and uncontrollable boners which can be a problem. Now I see how pmo really messed me up, I will try for day 90.

RE: NoPorn / NoFap Google Group - For Those Who're Serious - Ivanis - 03-29-2018 07:45 AM

Not closely counting. In about 2-2.5 weeks. Feeling good, been getting out and hiking more as well as scheduled lifts and trying to stay productive.

If for nothing else, nofap does help with being more active and more productive. As a side note, I feel animalistic in the gym and in life in general. Giving far less fucks. Also had wet dreams twice this week. Small drawback, but also feels natural in a way.

RE: NoPorn / NoFap Google Group - For Those Who're Serious - Wutang - 03-30-2018 09:26 PM

53 days in. Was really struggling with getting back on the wagon at the beginning of 2018 but I've finally managed to build up a sizable streak this year.

RE: NoPorn / NoFap Google Group - For Those Who're Serious - Ruslan - 03-31-2018 06:07 AM

87 days in after a relapse at the start of the year. Feels amazing, especially with clean diet and no booze. Lifts in a gym go up, muscles grow, mood excellent plus some IOI. Life is great!

RE: NoPorn / NoFap Google Group - For Those Who're Serious - Bushido - 03-31-2018 11:20 AM

10 days. I went out and (quite reluctantly) banged a 4.5 tonight.

RE: NoPorn / NoFap Google Group - For Those Who're Serious - ShotgunUppercuts - 03-31-2018 01:10 PM

120 days in.
