This has been an extremely difficult habit to break.

Typically between days 20-30 I relapse.

Now realize I have conditioned my brain to associate my phone with reproduction.

Wasting my life force on a screen.

Fuck this. Going the rest of the year clean.

Have a $250 bet currently with a buddy riding on who can make it through no nut november. I think that'll be sufficient motivation for me to make it through the month, given i associate great amounts of pain to losing money. Boring

No Arousal is key to beating this addiction. In short, you can't be checking women out while you're trying to quit. It's basically like playing porn in your mind every time you take a glance. This applies to real women, sexually-charged advertisements, and women on screens. Looking at any of these in a sexual way will keep you hooked on porn. Guaranteed.

I highly recommend giving the No Arousal method a read. It takes a few hours to get through, but is well worth it if you're taking this addiction seriously, which you should. I've been fighting fapping/porn for 4 years now, and only made progress after starting NoA (No Arousal). Check it out if you're serious:

You also can't fantasize about women.

Probably the most powerful meme I've seen.

Checking in.
Currently at day 60.
My record is still 144 days.
Been trying to best that number for a long ass time.
This time I’m going to set a new high.
The only way to do it is 100% porn avoidance.
Don’t click on a link if you suspect it will lead to degenerate photos/videos.

Benefits are always so significantly noticeable.
My homies getting sick this time of year with 103+ degree fevers, at worst I get a runny nose.
Guys acting cold, chilled to the bone, wearing multiple layers out here in Portland, OR and I’m sweating at the idea of putting a jacket on.

NoFap/NoPorn super powers are real.

I had a fap relapse a few weeks ago on Halloween. Went out and had a great night with the significant lady friend and we had lots of enjoyable adult physical activity after but I still had more left on the tank. She had to be up early so I didn't stay over so I got home and was way too hyper and fapped it a few times just to mental images of her. I woke up the next day and I didn't care, I've gone so long without fapping that it didn't hit me as a major setback. It's the porn that messes things up IMO.

Is it really the no fap thing? I thing it is the no porn thing. Which Iam trying now.

Just dropped a data sheet for those of you serious about quitting. This thread is a bit long and I fear it'll got lost in the folds of the 100 or so pages. Enjoy:

For those who’ve abandoned sex outside marriage and oninism, is it hypocritical to hope for release through vivid wet dreams?

My teens and early 20s were celibate and like most conservative Christian men’s lives, the celibacy increased the power of mainstream pictures of women 10 fold. I soon hoped for wet dreams then I learnt how to direct them (lucid dreams). Some dreams were so vivid I wonder if I attracted the succuba.

Wet dreams are not "release", they are demonic influence. You can go for months without "release".

It would be cool if we could distinguish between the No Fappers and the Semen Retentionists.

No Fappers are those who simply avoid masturbation but still have orgasms via sex.
Semen Retentionists are those who do not masturbate and do not have orgasms. Whether they make it 30 days, 90 days or more takes far more discipline than being a No Fapper.

I'm a Semen Retentionist and my record hasn't lasted beyond 30 days.

RE: NoPorn / NoFap Google Group - For Those Who're Serious - redbeard - 11-11-2019 10:08 AM

It’s probably best to keep this thread focused on NoFap. Even though there might be retentionists among us, the disagreements warrant their own thread.

This thread is made to help men quit masturbating and looking at porn, no matter what their goal or reasoning is.

RE: NoPorn / NoFap Google Group - For Those Who're Serious - Tex - 11-11-2019 01:48 PM

^Agreed. No fap does not equal dissociating yourself from your sexual drives/hardcore asceticism.

RE: NoPorn / NoFap Google Group - For Those Who're Serious - John Michael Kane - 11-11-2019 02:11 PM

One thing that helped me finally beat the porn habit was also avoiding things that aren't technically porn, but can act as a trigger to fap.

Examples:

- Instagram (unfollowed several female friends/accounts that post slooty pics that are very tempting, what a time waste anyways)
- Facebook (same as above)
- Any other outlet of media where women are dressed skimpily and prone to making you feel tempted

RE: NoPorn / NoFap Google Group - For Those Who're Serious - gework - 11-11-2019 04:45 PM

^ Yes.

Once porn has gone, things that wouldn't have been so arousing become more tempting. A cleavage, or even tight top can be all it needs to start the blood boiling. Lord Jiggy had good advice on that in his thread, to treat all forms of arousal as things to become aware of and nip in the bud.

But in one way it's good news those things are enough to get you going.

Instagram needs to go on the block list IMO, along with Reddit: https://controlc.com/99125ac6

Recently I have been having porn flashbacks. When images pop into your mind of particularly racey content. Trying to tempt you back in. This is certainly the devil's playground.

Same here. I can remember vivid details of videos I haven't watched for years. Porn is such an incredible drug that it writes deep into the brain's pathways. If I get one of these flashbacks, I immediately pray and also switch activities (if I was resting, I go for a walk, as an example) as a means of clearing the mind. NoFap can make you crazy hungry for sex, which is hard when you are trying to live a lifestyle that doesn't involve non-marital sex. I think that meme you posted about "I do not consent" as the future wife is a very strong motivator not to bust your life force on sloots, porn, Instagram, etc. I am committed to not living a life of that regret, which makes today's sacrifices that much easier to shoulder in comparison.

RE: NoPorn / NoFap Google Group - For Those Who're Serious - MichaelWitcoff - 11-11-2019 07:41 PM

@No6: I don’t know about “hope for release,” because the Church has prayers to say after such things occur. I’d say if it happens it happens but not really something to spend time and energy worrying about.

The dude that owns nofap.com is getting attacked by the porn industry!

Quote:Alexander Rhodes is the founder of NoFap. As a result of creating and operating this website, he has been targeted by an unprecedented campaign of defamation from entities who appear to be closely associated with the porn industry. Alex was forced to file a lawsuit to defend himself, as this defamation campaign is intended to destroy his reputation and distort public opinion about our website. Not only is this defamation destroying Alex's quality of life and sleep, ultimately, we believe that this campaign is soon going to threaten our ability to continue keeping NoFap online. We need your help.

Consider how much money the porn industry makes and it is little surprise they would attack someone who is attacking their sick business.

No porn checking in. I am going to continue to fap. No more than twice a week. For me the problem has always been the porn. I've been watching it since I was 11 years old which is crazy to say. I've tried to kick it in the past put posting here to keep myself accountable.

I've already been going two weeks so good start I guess

Lost the $250 btw. tard

The bet had an opposite effect on me. I started watching porn but told myself I couldn't nut because of the bet, so I would just keep watching. Because I couldn't nut, I kept watching longer than I normally would, etc etc. Shity but I think I'll be better going forward because of this negative anchor

RE: NoPorn / NoFap Google Group - For Those Who're Serious - porscheguy - 11-13-2019 01:01 AM

Has anyone mentioned no fap coinciding with no nut November which is essentially about the same thing?

Apparently according to rolling stone and the rest of the liberal media, NNN/no fap is far/alt right misogyny.

https://www.rollingstone.com/culture/culture-features/coomer-meme-no-nut-november-nofap-908676/

Leftists: porn is bad, it objectifies and harms women, and promotes misogyny.

Also leftists: not masturbating compulsively to porn is racist and misogynistic.

Also, drinking water is racist.
