I haven't seen a single shred of scientific evidence to state SR gives "more vitality and energy".

Every source relevant is always a spiritual one.

NoFap is and always has been about dopamine responses, which is where the science lies.

What is SR?

Porn? You guys are kidding me, right? People here actually look at porn. What a fucking waste of time!

Semen/Seminal retention.

Basically if you don't ejaculate through any means after a long period, old sperm dies and you retain your semen to be recycled through the prostate. Many spiritual authors tout it as a way of conserving sexual energy, amongst other things.

At work - I offered to do a poster campaign in order to help fight prostate cancer:

Still waiting to hear back on that one...

Like others have said:

It's mostly watching porn that is detrimental.

1. You see penetration from angles you normally don't see.

I have definitely noticed that I needed to see the penetration while fucking a girl. Lights on. Reversed cowgirl, or her legs on my shoulders. When jerking off to porn you get aroused from visuals that are normally hard to find.

2. You see girls that are way fucking hotter than many girls you fuck.

Not a problem for me, because I am quite selective. But for many guys this is a problem. Think about being an average guy having to fuck his 40-year old wife. Jesus.

3. You get off after seeing dozens of hot girls getting fucked.

You open a video, and open two new thumbnails in new tabs. And from those pages you also see new material. In the end in one session you masturbate to dozens of girls. When you fuck a girl, you fuck one girl.

Simple solution: Jerk off less, and when you do, do it in the shower.

I've experimented over the last six months with fapping and no fapping and when it comes to girls being more attracted to you when you've not fapped, I have concluded that this is utter bollocks.

No fap may be good for other reasons but girls respond to me in the same way whether I've fapped three times that morning or not for a month. All the stuff about lizards sensing you T levels etc is imo broscience. Obviously impossible to quantify scientifically just my own experience.

This reminds me of seinfeld's episode about the bet(who can go the longest without masturbating) as well as when george gives up sex and gets really smart.

I don't think anyone is advocating giving up sex, just porn and masturbation.

I'm going to stop wathching porn but not jacking off. I'll just do it in the shower or force myself to think of old girls like we had to do it back in the day. I'm in my mid 20's and was horny as a dog just 4 or 5 yrs ago before I was using a smart phone. I have to concentrate harder now and I know it's because of porn.

Broke the chain today.

I just spent a weekend with my main girl and I experienced the chaser effect today(http://yourbrainonporn.com/do-you-need-a-chaser-after-sex).

I had the cold turkey program installed on my computer and I actually went through the process of uninstalling it Laugh (it's not as simple to uninstall as most programs ) so I could access porn sites.

Fuck it I guess tomorrow is day one again.

I've stopped watching porn for a year now and I definitely notice it's easier to get/stay up.

But I can't give up fapping for the life of me - libido is way too high in early 20s. Seeing as I'm focusing on income building rather than a rampage of pickup at this moment I think I'll stick to fapping. But I can definitely see how it would make you more motivated to close.

RE: NoPorn / NoFap Google Group - For Those Who're Serious - Shadowarrior - 05-07-2013 11:58 AM

okay, i will try this because the last two times I had sex, I could not keep it hard. I just jacked off to porn like thirty minutes ago. Feel sleepy...

I fap but don't cum. Sometimes for an hour straight. No porn + fap without cumming is where it's at.

What benefits have you found from this?

Porn is a definite negative. Gotta get on the porn embargo again.

Here's a good statistic for all of you anti-masturbationists:

Quote:Results: During 222 426 person-years of follow-up, there were 1449 new cases of total prostate cancer, 953 organ-confined cases, and 147 advanced cases of prostate cancer. Most categories of ejaculation frequency were unrelated to risk of prostate cancer. However, high ejaculation frequency was related to decreased risk of total prostate cancer.

Enjoy your higher chances of prostate cancer. In the meantime, I'll be tard

Guys that are going either all-in on this or shunning it entirely are missing the point. It's like telling someone to stop drinking alcohol without knowing anything about their habits, lifestyle, personality, etc.

You may have one guy fapping constantly, resulting in no drive or motivation to go out and pull as well as permanent "whiskey dick" when he does pull a girl. This could be the result of a mental addiction to porn as well as simply over-fapping.

On the other hand, you could have someone who goes no-fap for 365 days but he gets a nut off once, twice, or ten times a week with a girl. His prostate could be getting even more of a workout that yours, despite his no-fap.

So don't view this as so black and white.

I've seen your posts in this thread before. How would you say your progress in these past 4 months have been, when compared to your previous nofap trials?

I'm thinking about starting up again. It's been a week at the moment.

If a man hardly gets laid and therefore does not ejaculate 21 days or so out of the month, then he will not be able to attain his 33% reduction of prostate cancer risk, as mentioned in the article. If a man cannot ejaculate more than 21x per month, through sex or masturbation, then he will have a higher prostate cancer risk, regardless how you feel about the benefits of not masturbating.

Also, what do you do when you are really really horny and your girls are too busy to come fuck you. What do you do to avoid masturbating?

RE: NoPorn / NoFap Google Group - For Those Who're Serious - Tenerife - 07-13-2013 07:44 PM

doesn't whacking off more make you even HORNIER?

i watched wilsons TED talk. He said that erectile dysfunction is a symptom of porn use. I definitely have not noticed that.

RE: NoPorn / NoFap Google Group - For Those Who're Serious - _DC_ - 07-13-2013 07:45 PM

Tenerife, that is the point.

At 19, no fap would have been pointless. At 29 is a gamechanger.
