I can't emphasize how important it is to lift weights while trying this. Whenever I see a girl in yoga pants I go full animal mode and bang out a couple more reps.

Day 2. Caved on sunday and just felt bad afterwards. So far doing well though. No urges to look at pron or fap one out.

RE: NoPorn / NoFap Google Group - For Those Who're Serious - OregonToSoCal - 12-22-2015 05:04 PM

Yesterday was the two week mark for me. The urges and frustration have been strong at times but so far so good. I've had sex a couple of times during this streak so it hasn't been as bad as going on 'hard mode'.

One thing that I've been doing that has helped me so far is when I'm feeling one of the benefits of the no fap (increased confidence, ability to talk to people etc.) I make a note of it on my phone so that I have something to go back to when the urges hit me. By the same token, if you end up relapsing note that too, and be extra descriptive so that when you read it at a later date you'll be able to go back to that feeling you were experiencing at the time of the relapse. Hopefully the next time you're tempted to give in and you read that you'll think "oh yeah I remember how shitty I felt, I don't want that again, I can power through this".

I noticed lots of times I cave in when i'm bored. I need to stay occupied with something else.

Great idea. Most of the posts on /r/nofap are "Oh no I just relapsed! It sucks! I am now so committed to doing this challenge!" I don't like this approach because negative thoughts flood your mind. "I fucked up." Instead, note how you feel, clean up, and move the fuck on.

Much like the guys in the Wagon Thread, taking note of the positives will remind you why you are doing this challenge. These positives are what keep us in this game long term, not the negatives.

I'll go: I love how I feel when I'm not jerking off. I feel freed from the ball and chain that porn used to have around me, and the full ball sack makes me more aggressive. Because I'm not focusing on getting that next dopamine hit, I am much more relaxed and can practice "mind like water."

Game is more enjoyable too. I see a significant improvement in how I deal with rejection AND the burst of energy afterword from conquering poosy.

In the past week I've been blue balled by two different girls (different occasions).

Back in the day I would've used these are prime opportunities to jerk off because I was horny as fuck. But now, by the time these girls leave, I am so tired that all I want to do is pass out. This is thanks to all of the sleep hacks I've been using that now cue me to pass out around 10 PM:

-Bright Light Therapy
-Coffee only before noon
-Less alcohol
-Darker bedroom
-High magnesium supplementation

I highly suggest guys trying to quit get their sleep game on point. Many of us are stuck in the habit of jacking off before going to sleep, and using these techniques above help break that habit.

Add f.lux to the list, too.

Not costly. I picked up Philips goLITE Blue on eBay for £50. It is also important to approach the sleep problem holistically. Computer/tablet/smartphone screen emit blue light, which reduces secretion of melatonin, hence if you use these screens they can be responsible for bad night sleep or lack there of. Drinking caffeine in late afternoon/evening, if you're responsive to it, will make difficult to fall asleep as well.

However, the real problem consists of the dark side of artifical lighting. However, this is manageable and there are applications, such as f.lux and other for various devices/software to get you a good night's sleep by cutting the blue light spectrum from your devices.

I've been using f.lux for around a year and it significantly improved my sleep - before that, I'd use computer until late evening hours and upon switching it off, I'd toss around in bed for hours. Now, it's 10-20min and I'm usually asleep.

This was a touch off topic.

On topic, I've quit 8 days ago and can't say for sure, but feel I have more vitality and some percolating vigour under the hood. I've become jaded and, ultimately, unsatisfied with autosex activities. Planning to receive pleasure from real sex only. Never liked to watch hard porn (though there were periods I spent hours watching it) due its artificiality and low quality screenplays as I've never failed to predict what the protagonists of the story would do! See how it goes, and report back some time soon what it changed.

Reset. Day 1. Will report back to communicate my experience and present my observations throughout the new year.

I'm jumping on the wagon. I've wasted countless hours and energies looking at porn, and it's a habit I'd like to kick in 2016.

But I'll have to start tomorrow since I took a peek today (damnit).

RE: NoPorn / NoFap Google Group - For Those Who're Serious - OregonToSoCal - 12-28-2015 03:12 PM

Three weeks in and still holding strong. I've been having sex once a week so it's not hard mode but to me I'm 100% fine with having all the sex I can possibly get as long as it's how god intended it to be, with a real woman. I will say the chaser affect is real. The day after I have sex is always the toughest. Confused

Yup, I cosign limiting blue light at night. I've been using f.lux for several years now, and just recently installed an app called Twilight on my phone. It's basically f.lux for mobile devices. Pretty sure I read about it on here, so kudos to whoever mentioned it.

Back on topic...I'm currently on day 6. While not impressive, I do want to have a nice little streak going forward into 2016. I've got a new strategy that I'm implementing, so I plan on starting the new year in a strong way.

New Years coming up. Good time to start something.

My aim is to bust my nut no more than once a day (fapp related can bang as much as I want though. I also want to try keep away from the hardcore fetish porn.

I will try keep it till the end of the day once the stuff I need to get done is done. Sort of like a reward.

I won't bother with complete no fapp unless I'm in a pussy paradise and I can get pussy every single day.

For those who haven't watched this yet

RE: NoPorn / NoFap Google Group - For Those Who're Serious - ksbms - 12-31-2015 07:23 AM

Did it once after 10 days, have resetted, now day 5. Don't feel any spikes in my libido but would say I'm more 'sexually alert'. Much limited exposure to porn but it still isn't 'all gone'. Aiming for at least 2 weeks this time.

It dawned on me the other day all we do is feed that dopamine fix by frapping. For some reason this realization has worked better than anything else. Day #3.

Yes, instant pleasure delivered from a sudden spike in various neurotransmitters makes us feel good but there's a price to pay. The problem is the more often you provide it to yourself, the less pleasure you get, so you need to increase frequency and amplitude. In consequence, addiction - and any stimulus can make it happen, be it pleasure derived from chocolate and food, fapping and sex, reading news, weightlifting, workaholism, etc. It becomes a vicious circle. It takes a skill to restrain yourself and dose things in moderation so as to keep a healthy balance.

Sometimes it's the little things that set off a chain of "clicks" in our brains.

I told a girl a few weeks ago "no, I don't jerk off." Not "I'm experimenting with..." or "I haven't in a while."

"I don't jerk off." Those four words are now imprinted into my mindset, and I feel much less need to jerk off because...I don't do it.

And what did she say?
