Day 2 for me, I need to keep going until 30 days

RE: NoPorn / NoFap Google Group - For Those Who're Serious - Buakaw - 04-25-2016 07:08 AM

Been doing nofap for a full week now. Noticed that the sex I had yesterday with my viet girl was more enjoyable than usual. I felt more despite the rubber and the orgasm was a bit more intense.

Will continue to see where this leads.

I knew about this for some time now, but today is the day I stop cockblocking myself. Day 1. Wish me luck

I've heard conflicting statements/reviews on NoFap in regards to concentration.

When I say concentration, I mean the ability to do things without getting sidetracked by other things, in this case, by women.

Porn advocates tend to claim that by watching porn they "get it out of their system" which will allow them to get work done.

NoFappers tend to say that watching porn tends to make us hypersexual, which leads to being inattentive and scatter brained.

Either way, I feel like my concentration has been terrible lately and at this point in my life, I definitely need it.

Thoughts?

I dont think it effects your concentration either way. If you are not good at concentrating you will not be good at concentrating regardless. As far as getting side tracked by a pretty female or thinking about making a move more often I definitely agree those things have increased in my mind lately.

RE: NoPorn / NoFap Google Group - For Those Who're Serious - Jtguthrie12 - 04-25-2016 05:56 PM

One thing i have noticed is I pop boners pretty much when i start flirting or a girl starts flirting back. This is pretty weird but i find it actually increases the girls desire for me especially if we are dancing. They usually start grabbing on it because it is so prominent.

There is a golden mean. Porn is the real problem. Quit porn. But fap once a week if there is no pussy. This is the way I do it. Keeps you motivated enough and more sharp and more concentrated than on porn.

I have been on this mode for 2.5 months now. Had one wet dream, first in 10 years. Sexual drive great. Motivation to do things great. Mood great. Sleep great. Energy amazing. Mind sharpness best ever.
Never going back to porn!

I try to chase pussy whenever it is possible, if I don't get lay within a week I fap without porn. Trust me it is easy once you are on a week of no fap. I would completely quit fapping as it is easy to get a girl at least once a week, but my work is my greatest cockblock, that leaves me with shit logistics and almost no free time. 10 days from now I will be free and on NoFap full on again.

Vinny, my man-- Thanks for the reply.

That sounds like a good "middle road" so to speak. Not full on monk but not spankin' it every hour on the hour either.

I've put porn away for a month before (so I know I can do it)-- but I just feel like regular sex will never get me to that "high" again... so the idea bores me.

Perhaps I should stop speculating and just do it.

Day 1.

Day 1.

Do it. I had the same thoughts when I was quitting.
That sex will not get me as high and that fapping without porn is impossible.
Porn is the key problem. After 6 weeks or so, all stimulation will be so much sharper and sex will be so much better that you will forget about porn.
The amount of time it takes to recover is different for everyone, for me personally once I had a first wet dream after 2 months of NoPorn and no more porn flashbacks I knew I completely recovered.
Have you seen TedX the great porn experiment? Google it if you haven't. Life changing for me.

Day 1

Do you guys combine NoFap with no caffeine / no alcohol / no drugs?
I'm leaving the caffeine behind too.

I don't do drugs or drink alcohol, but coffee for me is an obligation since I can't operate without caffeine

Ok, you've inspired me. I'll make this happen and report back to group.

I have seen the video and it led me to further reading. Gary's website is loaded with information. I always take note and concur... but then... well... you know... Science goes out the window at that point.

No more excuses-- At this point I'm actually more excited for the journey than afraid of the ups and downs.

It's a self actualization thing at this point--- knowing I can be better, give more, etc.

PS-- Never had ED and can get off without porn just fine-- maybe if I did I'd feel as if it was hurting me more... but we all know the dip in productivity...

I can definitely recommend the browser addon "stay focused".
You can block sites and it even has a "nuclear mode", which basically prevents the access to all sites but
some you have previously allowed. This helps also with cutting out any facebook addiction.

Glad to hear that!

I never had any problems with sex life either, I am in late 20s. Maybe I am lucky I've learned it early I an proactive way. I did not also consider myself a porn addict, when I had enough sex, I was not using porn that much.
Only after quitting for couple of months I can actually see I had a problem. And that this state I am in now is the norm.
I would not say I was passive before but now I am just more everything. More active, more sharp, learning new language and doing very well, motivated, training more, making huge plans and most of all popping out datasheets for the forum Big Grin
Where previously I would make an excuse not to do something due to lack of time or bad weather, now I don't fail to go out every time. And every time I have great time, and feel even better about myself Smile
Do let us know how it goes.

Success is always found with experimentation. You don't have to go overboard and toss in the towel, but you don't have to be a monk either.

If I were you - I would most importantly log how you feel everyday and back it up with what your streak is like. Everybody's different.

Then, I would start having sex once a week. It's not healthy to avoid having sex...having sex is one of the best things you can do for mental and hormonal balance.

I understand you want to regain sensitivity, but from my experience hardcore mode drives guys crazy. After a while of not jerking off, your body handles sex differently, and it's a much different experience than pounding away at whatever hole you can find.

Congrats on getting to 45, and thanks for sharing.

Highfive

I had a pretty long post but it got wiped out.

Short version: I'm gonna keep it going hardcore mode for a tad longer and then lay down some pipe to see what the reaction is like and then go from there.

There is an argument I read online that stated that any kind of sexual release (excluding wet dreams) slows down your ability to get back to a normal baseline dopamine levels/receptors or some shit like that. There is a lot of Bro-Science out there but in my case, I think what's important is that I avoid porn (allowing brain to reset from associating release with porn) and avoiding wanking all together (avoiding physical desensitization due to deathgrip and edging).

We shall see but I am optimistic.

I'm on Day 4, and had a massive wet dream. Surprised it would come this early. Dreamed about approaching this one lizard, and as soon as I spoke to her.... then bam. I'm currently using Victor Pride's 30 days of discipline to help me get to 30 days without PMO. So far it's working very well as a motivator.

Just watched this. Hits too close to home, especially concerning some of the addiction symptoms. Tried nofap once before, made it about 12 days. Day 1 starts today. Will do a better job keeping myself accountable by posting in this thread more often. I basically grew up on the internet and my work involves computers so this is challenging for me.

I'm leaving the caffeine behind too.

Relapsed last night, so on day 1 again as well.

Cutting back on all addictive substances is a worthy endeavor. I don't do drugs and I rarely drink. I'm also trying to cut back on caffeine quite a bit. Now I only use it when I'm really dragging ass and I've got a tough workout to get through. I definitely think that doing this in conjunction with NoFap will help you reset faster and reach a point where your brain function is more normalized.

Good luck with it!
Just make sure to use all this extra energy and motivation to actually chase pussy.
If you manage to get at least a bang or two per week you will be just fine.
Once you are pass 2nd month it gets easier.

RE: NoPorn / NoFap Google Group - For Those Who're Serious - The Black Knight - 04-27-2016 10:52 PM

Day 48/49. Hardcore mode.

On Day 48, I started getting OK semi-decent random boners just from thoughts and they wouldn't immediately go away as I shifted my thoughts to something non-sexual.

On Day 49, got a solid quality boner (one of those fuller feeling boners; like those from the teenage years - noticeable better than the day before) from just seeing a fit chick in a dress on TV (not like those Fox News chicks either; a bit more conservative) for about 30 seconds. Started eye fucking this chick (really focusing on every little curve with intensity) and I started thinking about banging the shit out of her and boner intensity/quality increased significantly more. Boner lasted about 3-5 minutes even AFTER the chick wasn't on the TV anymore; I couldn't even put my laptop on my lap and just had to wait for the boner to go away. That's straight up teenage years stuff.

I'm telling you all: Cut the porn and jerking completely out. If you can manage it, cut sex out too for 50 days at least. Why?

RE: NoPorn / NoFap Google Group - For Those Who're Serious - semibaron - 04-28-2016 10:50 AM

Day 1-5 of NoFap + NoCaffeine:

Days 1-3 were like hell. Headaches, no motivation, no concentration. Couldn't even watch TV properly. Basically stayed 3 days at home
and did nothing. Among the worst days of my life.

From day 4 onwards it's going to be better. I can concentrate again on all tasks and continue with normal life. Still not hypermotivated to do things and some dead dick syndrome still apply.

After finishing some important work this weekend I'm taking the next step and go full offline. No Whatsapp, no facebook, no needless surfing (including this forum here).
