Rough patch such as?

Yay, we're going mainstream!

Former Playmate Pamela Anderson is urging people to give up pornography once and for all in a Wall Street Journal op-ed this week. She argues that porn has a “corrosive effect on a man’s soul and on his ability to function as husband, and, by extension, as father. This is a public hazard of unprecedented seriousness given how freely available, anonymously accessible and easily disseminated pornography is nowadays.”

Anderson labels porn as something for “losers.”

Guys, I would recommend 3 things that are working for me and will motivate you more:

1.
Block all porn websites on your phone and/or computer with your internet service provider.
If your provider has a private account page, you can usually do this yourself online. In the case you have to call them, you can do this without embarrassment by simply telling them your (fictious) brother/sister is visiting with their children and you want to avoid them going on "unsuitable" websites at your place.

2.
Record your voice
Record yourself speaking a few sentences every few days. Check if your voice is slowly becoming deeper. It should.

3.
Take photos of your face during nofap.
The subtle changes in your face as the testosterone in your body slowly increases again will also explain why you are getting more eye contact contact from fertile females in real life.

Examples of males faces with low versus high testosterone

Like any bad habit. If I wait and say no the urge goes away. Anyways I'm back to Day 1 guys.

Lauren Southern in booty shorts did me in.

So, I was trying to join you guys,

But, my college teacher triggered me with a her sexy dress, and after 10 days i'm back to day 1 on NoFap. Didn't watch porn tho.

I think it doesn't help that I am 19, workout 5 days a week, have a very well balanced diet and take Zinc every night.

After 3 days i can't help but consider hitting at the low 6's and 5's (as long as they have a nice booty) which i usually don't bother.

Anyway here I go again, perhaps this time I break my record of 14 days..

What do you guys do when you are having urges when you are home alone? Last night I was trying to think of something to do. I didn't relapse but I need to find some sort of substitute.

Try to get rid of that victim mentality. This will help you not only in NoFAP, but in life in general.
You and only you are responsible for your own actions. If I acted out on every "trigger" I'd be in jail for mass murder by now.

I heard that cold showers help tremendously. Or just exercise your will power; the feeling of overcoming an urge is most satisfying and gives a confidence boost.

Longest I did was 2 week I think but I felt back. Now after fapping I feel like shit. Gotta go back on track.

First, check out my earlier post on not touching your dick. Simple, but effective.

Another thing that works surprisingly well for me, as strange as it sounds, is to imagine what I look like when I'm jerking off to porn, and then to focus on how much I don't want to be that guy.

I imagine stepping out of my body and seeing myself at that moment, pants around my ankles, crouched over the computer screen in the dark like some basement-dwelling omega male loser.

I think about how pathetic it is, not to be the guy fucking a hot girl, but to be the guy jerking off to some other guy fucking a hot girl.

And man, my ego hates that.

Because I've fucked hot girls. It's part of my identity now, being a guy who fucks hot girls. It took a long time and a hell of a lot of effort, but that's who I am now. Fucking hot girls = success, jerking off = failure. And I hate thinking of myself as a failure.

So as I'm mentally picturing myself spanking it, I feel this wave of disgust course through me. Disgust at failure, at moving backward, at being reminded of the days where all I did was jerk off because I had no idea how to actually fuck hot girls.

Of course, the only way to get rid of that feeling, the only way to assuage my wounded ego, is to not jerk off.

It's still awfully difficult to stop yourself, but I promise, you'll feel like a million bucks once you successfully avoid the temptation. It reaffirms your self-concept as a strong, competent, determined alpha male.

Repeat the process a few times and you'll get this positive feedback loop going, where conquering your emotional urges builds an identity of someone who doesn't give in to temptation, which in turn makes it easier to do just that the next time you're tempted. Like any inner game work, it takes time to really sink in, but it's absolutely worth the effort.

Day 31. It is all about the right mindset. I realize and see it all now. I'm trying to be as rational as much as I can. Always looking at the facts fuck acting upon emotions!

Emotions = the urge to watch porn and jerk off

Facts = will fuck me up. Kill my vibe, kill my energy, put me in a bad mood, kill my desire to game girls and get out to get all the things done and so on.

I found peace within myself. Even if I accidentally click on a porn image, I still won't be aroused and tempted by that. Again it is all in our mind the way we look at all the things in life. I've been trying to quit pmo for over 3 years and I've finally broken my record today. What really changed me is the book called "how to stop worrying and start living by Dale Carnegie" Go get it. Think about it. Think about your mindset, change it for the better and you will be great. You will never ever recover if you always have to block porn / Internet on your computer / phone. As long as you don't change your mindset nothing will work for you. I know because I've been trying to block porn / Internet for the last 3 years and it never worked.

I'll check back in in 10 days.

That book is awesome indeed. It's one of my personal favorites but not the best one I've ever read or something. I made a post on my blog a few days ago about Books that truly changed my life for the better, and seeing how much you got out of Dale Carnegie's book, I'm sure you'll appreciate these as well http://bigbrandboys.com/lifestyle/books-will-truly-change-outlook-life/

For me personally the most beneficial book for NoFap has been Tropic of Cancer. It's shown me a way of life without all the bullshit and superficial things and it helped me set my head straight. Man’s Search for Meaning is a great one as well.

Day 8 starting to get a bit frustrated but I'm managing.

RE: NoPorn / NoFap Google Group - For Those Who're Serious - tomzestatlu - 09-06-2016 12:00 PM

I haven´t seen any porn for 4 months. I´ve never felt any unmanagable urge to watch porn. I just from minute to minute changed my opinion about it and haven´t watched it anymore (based on knowledge I didn´t have before). And as it was said, it´s better to do it, than watch other guys doing it. I had problems with libido before and things are definitely going better now.
I am having regular sex (now it´s usually on the weekends) and while not, I prefer to jerk off once a week. I would say I can recognize the abstinence on my feelings. When I have sex at the weekend, on the beginning of new week I feel bad and have problems with holding my mind in good shape and feel emotions more. While at the end of the week, I feel like badass who cannot be disconcerned. It also helped me with graduating... I felt more confused and commited to things I should.
Maybe totally cutting sexual life from time to time for 2 months could bring big benefits for man´s life.

RE: NoPorn / NoFap Google Group - For Those Who're Serious - Grenblin - 09-06-2016 07:33 PM

Day 25 of NoPMO.
For the past few days I woke up with a morning wood which lasted good ten minutes after waking up.
Finally decided to bite the bullet and take the test from YBOP.

Quote:Wondering if your problem is porn-related?
The first bit of advice is to see a good urologist and rule out any medical abnormality. Once you have ruled out organic causes, try this simple test to isolate porn-induced ED from performance anxiety-induced ED.
  1. On one occasion masturbate to your favorite porn (or simply recall it).
  2. On another masturbate with no porn/porn fantasy. That is, no recalling of porn.

Compare the quality of your erection and the time it took to climax (if you can). A healthy young man should have no trouble attaining a full erection and masturbating to orgasm without porn or porn fantasy.
  • If you have a strong erection in #1, but erectile dysfunction in #2, then you have porn-induced ED.
  • If #2 is strong and solid, but you have trouble with a real partner, then you have anxiety-induced ED.
  • If you have problems during both 1 and 2, you may have severe porn-induced ED, or an organic problem. When in doubt, see a good urologist..
The above test is helpful to differentiate porn-induced ED from performance anxiety because you cannot have anxiety about performance with your own hand. (You've known each other for a long time.)

I was scared to take it previously, tbh, in case it wasn't P related.
It's been a long while since I M'd without watching P.
And boy was I happy to see a decent, 8-9 (on a scale of 10) erection which lasted until I O'd!!! The sensitivity (and skin color, it used to look pale/blue-ish, now it's flesh colored) is coming back too!

According to the test, I have anxiety-induced ED, however, knowing that previously I had to imagine scenes from P while with a partner in order to stay hard I'm still leaning towards PIED. Abstaining for 25 days and seeing the changes only proves my point.

Therefore I am continuing my NoPMO journey and will report regularly in hopes that my post will motivate those who still suffer from PIED.

On a side note, I am still full of energy, I am losing weight and getting in shape (having to buy smaller clothes every few weeks sucks, but I'll take it), my cardio is getting better too (I can last on a stairmaster or a treadmill at a jogging pace for longer than I used to), I am learning meditation through Headspace, my head is much clearer. I feel great!!!

Supplements which I take daily are: Multivitamin, collagen, creatine, BCAA's, ZMA (before bed), fish oil, taurine and vitamin D.

@Grenblin, there is also a huge correlation with low T and anxiety. Do you lift beyond doing the cardio? I had a few years where I stopped working out and had experiences with anxiety-induced ED, had my T tested and I was pretty low, barely scratching 400. I went back to Olympic lifting and checked my T later to find I had more than doubled it to over 900 and never experienced any more ED issues. I become absolutely primal in bed now.

Of course, I also mix in plenty of other things like getting plenty of sun for Vitamin D and making sure I get enough zinc in my diet.

Just a thought, you can't go wrong with doing things to focus on raising your T, it might work for you.

I do weights training 3 times a week with two more days of cardio. I also hike with my dog on weekends.
Had my T tested about a year ago and the physician said it was normal, but sadly I don't remember the exact numbers.

Not sure if I'm getting plenty of sun, but I take vitamin D supplement as well as ZMA (also, my Keto diet includes a lot of meat and fish, which are rich in zinc).

Thank you for a good advice though, I do think I will be getting my T tested again, just to be sure.

I don't want to derail the thread too much from nofap discussion, so I'll make it short. It sounds like you're on the right track, definitely get your T tested, and ask for a printout so you can compare yourself when you test again.

Also know that almost all doctors are trained to believe anything above 200 is "normal" when I believe it's pretty common for men with levels below 600 to experience low T symptoms. They'd rather prescribe dick pills than tell a patient to man up, lose weight, eat right and hit the gym.

Shit, only two days. Doesn't help when my girl back home is sending me nudes. Gonna go lift and get in a cold shower to replace the T.

Day 1. I goofed again. Need to focus my energy elsewhere. The hot weather doesn't help.

Fuck it, I´m in for a first time. I nearly never watch porn (anymore) so that won´t be the issue. I am a bit of a physically nervous guy though and jerking it helps me relax sometimes, especially when I have trouble falling asleep. Nevertheless, I´m giving this a go, I wanna feel that surge of testosterone and know what it means to me.

Like a previous poster said, the results have been so good that I hope to go LIFE of No P.

Day 13. I have never felt so well, got a new bang and another prolonged makeout and breasts fondling session after going for months without a new lay. I absolutely hammered the milf I fucked, made her cum many times and I was in perfect physical condition.

I also have another date for tonight. No fap is doing wonders for my confidence and aggressivity Smile

What I told myself was : the day I fap again is the day I definitely quit my PhD, and if I fail I won't complete it. Pretty radical but it works. This gives me a window of 2 years and a couple months.

RE: NoPorn / NoFap Google Group - For Those Who're Serious - Mushroom - 09-08-2016 10:55 AM

Ok you fuckers have convinced me to give this a shot. I've only been going out twice a week daygaming at the beach to find hookups, and don't have the motivation to do any more than that. Going to stop fapping and I bet it'll motivate me to get my ass out there more often.
