Which one is the best in here? Any recommendations?

I've only seen Stranger Things but I can kind of safely say... Stranger Things is your best option.

RE: Netflix Thread - Rossi - 08-29-2018 12:47 PM

Thanks. Just started watching, when is next season coming?

RE: Netflix Thread - DJ-Matt - 08-29-2018 02:20 PM

Amazon prime video does have that shitlord car show with Jeremy Clarkson and the guys from top gear. "The Grand Tour" supposedly shot in high dynamic range but I don't have a fancy enough TV for that, still looks good in 720p on my old 50" plasma!

I like the Grand Tour.
It's basically the same humor but in a different environment.
Season 1, every episode is in a different location.
Season 2, it's different (not trying to spoil).

If you enjoy cars and british humor and watching new places give it a try.

Ozark's new season is available now.

RE: Netflix Thread - Windom Earle - 09-25-2018 09:38 PM

Just finished Maniac - Jonah Hill and Emma Stone.

Very good show. Kind of a mix thematically speaking of Cloud Atlas and Inception, with 80's retro/Japanese touches here and there.

Is there anything hotter than a Japanese scientist chick with glasses and a British accent?

Could have done without the #Meetoo sub-plot re the brother on rape charges. The trial scene was just plain dumb.

Notwithstanding, I highly recommend having a toke and binging this.

RE: Netflix Thread - Richard Turpin - 09-26-2018 04:02 AM

Finished Season 2 of Ozark recently. Strange show, it kept me watching so it must have something going for it. Feel like it could be really good with just a few tweaks.

Have moved on to Mad Men! I know I must be the only person not to have watched it yet, but for some reason I didn't think it was going to be up my street.

How wrong I was.

What an incredible show. Myself and Mrs Richard Turpin have sat through Season 1 completely mesmerised. It was fascinating to watch my wife's reactions to the sensibilities of the period. For an hour each night she managed to put down her phone and sit glued to the screen as half-forgotten truths re-surfaced via the magic of television.

Remains to be seen if she bucks her ideas up and gets my tea on the table pronto each night, but for my part, I've given my work shoes an extra shine this week and tried to walk a little taller around the office.

RE: Netflix Thread - Rossi - 09-26-2018 08:20 AM

Supposedly, Maniac should be great. Everyone is talking about it.

RE: Netflix Thread - aeroektar - 09-26-2018 09:32 AM

Ozark season two was a letdown overall. They really pushed the powerful women agenda hard this time, and they've got that detective ramping up his raunchy faggotry. Plus they killed off the best character.

Yep. Part of the charm of the 1st season was seeing how quickly he was able to think on his feet and out-wit the bad guys. This season, he almost took a backseat to his wife suddenly being the string-puller.

I almost stopped watching the first season because of the faggotry. Same for this one.

He was the best character, and one of the few things that kept me watching.

RE: Netflix Thread - RIslander - 10-06-2018 11:14 PM

Just started watching Fauda. It's an Isreali miniseries on Mossad ops against Palestinians. I know it's (((them))) but it's pretty good.

Plus Kona is in it.

RE: Netflix Thread - Emancipator - 10-07-2018 02:38 AM

How is Big Mouth not censored, completely (((degenerate)))

RE: Netflix Thread - Kurgan - 10-07-2018 12:18 PM

Just started watching Season 5 of Bojack Horseman and I love it. It's a great show about depression.

I've noticed the only even quasi-realistic shows/movies on terrorism (on Netflix) are Israeli. I see that 22 July is being fairly heavily promoted right now. Of course... right wing nationalist terrorist. Doesn't matter that Breivik was a lone wolf. It fits the narrative. Other than that, a cursory search on Netflix yields a lot of the standard Hollywood terrorist fare - Either it is a commentary on how US/Western efforts to combat terrorism are The Real Terrorism™ or it is an actual show about terrorism and all the terrorists are vaguely Eastern European, RussoBulgariSerbish. Because when I think terrorist, I think this guy:

Big Mouth is a soft sell to kiddie diddling. Full stop.

I've made it through two episodes and I'm in the same place. If I have time, I will give episode three a chance. After that, I'm done. I don't care how many people I know say I "just have to watch it".

Altered Carbon gentlemen.

This show is great!
It has been mentioned before in the "TV Series" thread I think too.
Great story, action scenes, room for a second season too...though it doesn't look like it will be released soon.

I had a chick over for Netflix and Chill who put it on because "I'm not done Season 2, it just came out, you should check it out", few minutes into it

Turned it off after a messed up scene where its straight up cartoon CP/nudity.

RE: Netflix Thread - Rotten - 10-12-2018 06:13 PM

There is full-on nudity of characters who are 13 years old in Big Mouth.

Even fucked up Japanese stuff makes sure you know that the characters are legal age before they show anything.

RE: Netflix Thread - jennytan - 10-12-2018 10:24 PM

I agree. Perhaps we finish watching all the shows faster than they can add newer ones. Angel

RE: Netflix Thread - redonion - 10-28-2018 03:58 PM

I just bought a Netflix subscription and I've been watching "The Haunting of Hill House" recently. I just started the 3rd episode and think it's a really good horror show so far. Pretty suspenseful and the story is very intriguing. I would definitely recommend.

However I couldn't help but notice that out of the 5 main characters we have:
1) woman in an interracial marriage
2) woman in an interracial marriage (perhaps dissolved)
3) lesbian woman
4) fuck up drug addict white guy
5) slightly less fuck up white guy who exploited his family stories for $

At the beginning of episode 3 I was introduced to 2 new characters and, you guessed it, they're an interracial couple.

It's just so jarring because it's not an accurate representation of real life whatsoever. I'm just trying to put it behind me and enjoy the story for what it is. The subtle propaganda in these Netflix shows is absurd though.

RE: Netflix Thread - BlastbeatCasanova - 10-28-2018 05:27 PM

It's not on Netflix, but I'm rewatching Eastbound and Down and would highly recommend it. Some of the stuff they say on that show blows my mind, nothing like it would make it on TV nowadays

I cannot understand how any white man on this forum can justify paying for a netflix subscription. You are literally paying to cuck yourself as your enemy rubs his hands together in glee watching the shekels pile up. This is all the more puzzling to me given that every netflix show is easily accessible in HD quality from torrent sites for the low price of a VPN subscription.

Yeah I agree. I cancelled Netflix awhile ago, but got back on to watch Ozark with a free 1-month trial that just ended. I'll likely cancel again when I finish Ozark, which is just OK in my opinion.

Can you use your friend's netflix subscription?
