Edit: Finally managed to be the first one to say that on a thread. Now lets hope I'm not wrong.

The time difference always keeps me from getting to use that one.

Someone took the "religion of peace" joke, too. But I got this one in the bag:

"Cool machete Ahmed. Wanna bring it to the white house." Boom!

Aloha!

better yet, perhaps it's time to channel this guy:

I like the historical reference but this dude could have inspired Machiavelli's The Prince to some degree, but even then Nicolo would not recommend the full strategy. Putting rotting heads/bodies on pikes for miles is a bit much for probably any time in history. haha

An explosion has just gone off in a restaurant in the German city of Ansbach. 1 death confirmed so far. That's potentially 3 attacks in 2 days. It does seem like it's going to be at least a semi regular occurance in mainland Europe now. What a disgrace.

Sounds like we need a German attack master thread.

The 'trending' thing on FB had this story about 3 hours ago...but now it's suspiciously disappeared. It's coming time for en-masse account deletion and a step away from social media. It's become completely co-opted by the people we're against. If someone out there is a computer genius and wants to make a new Google too, I'd be up for that also!

Can be a gas explosion because it did happen in a restaurant. Let's wait for more information.

We need a 'How to arm yourself legally in authoritarian Europe' thread, for real, everyone of us could end up in a situation that requires self defense soon.

Local mayor states it was an explosive device: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2016/07/24/one-dead-and-ten-injured-after-restaurant-blast-in-german-city-o/

Quote:An explosion at a restaurant has killed one person and injured ten others in the German city of Ansbach, near Nuremberg, police confirmed late on Sunday. It said the cause of the blast was unknown.

Local news report the mayor of Ansbach saying that the explosion was caused by an explosive device.

The blast a at Eugene's Wine Bar triggered a large-scale police operation involving police, rescue workers and one helicopter, Sky News said.

Germany's NTV television reported that officials suspected the explosion was caused by a gas leak.

A police spokesman in Ansbach confirmed that an explosion killed one person and injured 10 others, but had no further information.

A spokesman for the Bavarian Interior Ministry said it was unclear if the blast was accidental or intentional. The Bavarian interior minister Joachim Herrmann is reportedly en route to Ansbach.

News agency Dpa reports that an open-air concert nearby with some 2,500 in attendance was shut down as a precaution after the explosion.

Germany has been on high alert following the events in Reutlingen and Munich.

On Sunday, 21-year-old asylum-seeker from Syria killed a woman, reported to be pregnant, with a meat cleaver in the southern German town of Reutlingen.

Only two days earlier an 18-year-old man killed nine people in a shooting near a shopping centre in Munich, before turning the gun on himself.

Quote:At least one person has been killed and at least 10 are injured after an explosion at a wine bar late on Sunday in Ansbach, near the southern German city of Nuremberg, a police spokesman has confirmed.

The spokesman had no immediate information on the cause of the blast, which followed the killing of nine people by an 18-year-old gunman in Munich on Friday. It was first reported at 10:12 p.m. CET (4.12 p.m. ET).

A spokesman for the Bavarian Interior Ministry initially said it was unclear if the blast was accidental or intentional, but sources including the local mayor now suggest an explosive device was detonated.

The BBC has reported that Interior Ministry sources have too confirmed the explosion is likely to have been “intentional”.

A nearby music festival with around 2,500 attendees has now been shut down, and speculation is emerging on social media platforms that a man was seen to have been turned away from the festival just moments before the blast. The details have not yet been confirmed.

Bavarian Interior Minister Joachim Herrmann was being briefed about the incident, the spokesman said.

The Nuernberger Nachrichten newspaper reported that the blast occurred at a restaurant in Ansbach.

Germany’s NTV television reported that officials suspected the explosion was caused by a gas leak.

Bomb attack seemingly

What could have caused that.........?

Facepalm

http://www.express.co.uk/news/uk/692793/Ansbach-explosion-Nuremberg-Germany-Blast

Quote:Police say up to 11 other people were injured in the blast and now Ansbach Mayor Carda Seidel has said the inferno was caused by an explosive device.

The horrifying incident occurred at 10.30pm local time at a wine bar called Eugen's Weinstube in the city’s old town.

The nearby Ansbach Open Music Festival has been cancelled as a result of the blast.

Unconfirmed reports state a man with a rucksack was denied entry to the music festival shortly before the explosion ripped through the popular night spot.

A spokesman for the Bavarian interior minister Joachim Herrmann said the explosion in the Eugene's Weinstube restaurant was a “deliberate” act rather than an accident.

He said: “At present we assume it is not an accident."

Heavily armed police are at the scene and officers have cordoned off the area around the wine bar.

Agreed, as many other have said.

We need a master European Terror Incident Thread or something similar.

Exactly, it sounds like a trollish thing to say, but look how many have popped up in the last few days.

Sad times for Europe.

Disagreed. Practically it's easier to organise updates of developing events in separate threads, and psychologically it just makes us more desensitised, like this is the everyday occurrence we have to accept. Fuck that. I want the full force of anger it stirs in me.

As much as it pains me to see a new thread pop up every few days now, this inspires emotion and taking action so that we gain at least some positive out of the horrific events that are happening.

Agreed, I think that the Ansbach restaurant attack should be a separate thread, even if solely for cleaner thread organization.

The WW3 Megathread will probably be created at some point in a year or two anyways. The attacks will then be put in there to avoid cluttering the forum, they'll be too numerous to make individual threads for.
