A lot of this forum is politics, and based on how Roosh wants to run for president, I was wondering, what about the forum? Have you guys ever thought of running for local office? Being alderman, county board members, county commissioners, mayors of your towns, state rep, etc...

I always found it interesting.

Yes.

I'm from San Diego and my dream is to chase the Marxist subversives out of my city and to ensure that the wall along San Diego county's border is strong.

And I'm not talking about the border with Mexico (it's already strong), I'm talking about the border with Orange county. Camp Pendleton is perfectly positioned at San Diego county's northern border with Orange county to monitor all traffic in and out. I would make entry into San Diego county from the north as rigorous as entry form the south, starting with Orange county along highway 5.

My hometown was conservative and far more safe when I was a boy and I have a dream to take it back from the filth that crept in from the north.

Yes, but I have a few skeletons in my closet that I need well and truly buried first.

My city always votes Labour though, and I'm not sure I could tolerate being a member of that party in its current form. Perhaps that's something I would have to work on changing before running.

I ran once for local office when I was younger, I ran as a school board trustee that was anti teacher. Who are the only people who vote in trustee elections? Teachers union members. I got murdered on the vote, but enjoyed the debate stage thoroughly.

Run!

If you want to win, you have to fight.

Yeah. I'll probably run for state house in a few years. I need to squirrel away some money so I can spend 3-6 months knocking on doors.

My current rep is an idiot. And I know this because I've met her and my friend works for her. The only thing is I'll have to switch to Democrat since my district is gerrymandered.

I've considered it, but, I'd rather be a guy pushing a good guy from the backend or behind the scenes. I've got a track record that's not the most honourable, but essentially being a Hughes for a Roy Mustang type has been my dream (sorry to drop a weeb reference)

My old man ran and won in a medium size town. He got smoked the second time. Why? He wasn't an asshole.

The problem is if you try and go to an established party...they will try to block you somehow as soon as they know what your political views are (and keep in mind that I am talking of an European party that is considered 'right-wing').

I was member of a party and I was blocked in every way possible. I tried to build a local section of that party and also the youth wing (which was almost non-existant and everyone 18-30 is considered a potential member of that youth wing). I used social media mainly to attract younger potential members and to spread the message to younger people. I tried to pressure some members to organise protests or at least into participating in some protests, you know, to show presence. The president of the youth wing was always sick and ok I understand a person can be sick but then don't come back for the congress to get re-elected. For some reason, the party also had their fair share of liberals/leftists in there and I was seriously asking myself if I was in the correct party. Few months later, they resigned because (surprise, surprise) of the mother party's right-wing policies. I mean...the party is and always was right-wing. Now they are in the Pirate Party.

And because we are such a small country and almost nothing happens here, the media picked up everything what I 'posted' or 'said'. Not only that, but I also gained some kind of reputation and I became too 'right-wing' for that party and I was apparently kicked out too, totally FAKE NEWS. The party had no backbone and was 'terrified' by the leftists media and parties. They basically told me to shut up and I told them no, f*** you, I went and left my member card with them.

I tried founding my own party afterwards, I designed its own flag, its own slogan, wrote the whole program, the election program, the ideological program but today it is just too difficult to get people out of their houses and to become member of a political party. While I would love to continue running my own party, I just think that it became pointless if I had to do everything. This would mean I would become some sort of a dictator and that defeats the purpose of forming your own party.
