I don't care how good they are for you, I'm done eating beans. I'm gassy, smell like shit, and feel bloated as fuck for a straight 24 hours after I eat a lot of em. I don't know if you're body is supposed to get used to them the more you eat or my large intestine just deals with them worse than most other people, but F that S

Have you tried other types of bean? Black or white beans usually are better for me, I don't fart all day or get sleepy after eating them.

Downloaded JEFIT and not too happy with it. Pretty buggy/ slow. Has anyone got any recommendations for other workout apps? I've used the Stronglifts app for android previously and it's great, but now I'm doing a 3 day split I'm looking for something I can customize

Black beans are really the only beans I eat.

Pulled a 3x3x200 kg deadlift set today. Barely managed 5 sets of 10 with 120 kg afterwards. All in all, pretty good. Next Mon I'll probably go for 220kg 1RM. All of my big three have gone up pretty well since I moved to the UK, I'm quite happy about this. Squats were a not-too-painful 5 sets of 3 with 130 kg, bench is still at 5x3x107,5.

Gitting gud feels gud.

Try lentils if you haven't.

They seem to cook pretty easily, have a decent amount of protein, and are inoffensive.

If they go well with rice and meat then I'm down to give it a shot.

Fuck yes. I'm not much of a meat eater, but rice with lentils and sausage is just...

100g lentils has about the same calorie count as 100g rice, except 100g rice contains about 8g protein/100g, and lentils contain about 24g protein/100g.

I will quite often swap out rice for lentils if I'm making a red thai curry, or an indian dish.

Lentils do not need to be soaked. For one cup of black beans or kidney beans, use three to four cups of water in the rice cooker and cook for about one-and-a-half hours. For one cup of lentils, use two to three cups of water and cook for 40 to 60 minutes

Have to do even more bloodwork it sounds like before surgery, hate bloodwork. Tend to faint. I have a date for it too, but not a time yet. Might have to do another physical since I predict problems with it doing it so soon.

RE: Lifter's Lounge
Getting boned by all the schoolwork I have to do, so I'm giving the 50/20 routine another try for (weighted) bodyweight exercises. This is known as the "Have it All" routine by Bryce Lane.

50/20 means a goal of 50 total reps in 20 minutes. Once you reach the goal you bump the weight up a bit, you should be using approximately 70-80% of your one rep max so this isn't a terrible range for growth. I'll be doing it with.

A) Chins and dips, supersetted

B) Pistol squats

On a M/T/Th/Fr schedule. Probably going to throw in a couple hundred swings in there somewhere.

Currently on my third workout, the autoregulation and lack of having to time between sets or using complicated rep schemes is a nice change of pace. Set a stopwatch for 20 minutes and let 'er rip, go as hard as you like.

Last time I tried this with clean and press and put 15 pounds on it in about 6 weeks, developed some decent cardio from it, too. Tried to do it with deadlift once and I greyed out, good times.

RE: Lifter's Lounge
Peanut butter, almond butter, or cashew butter? And which brand?

I have a peanut butter sandwich and a banana almost every day as my fourth and final meal, and I also throw it on my morning toast, so it's pretty important that I use the best kind of nut butter.

I currently use Smucker's Natural Peanut Butter. I had heard good things about it prior on the BodyBuilding forum, and the nutritional facts look good compared to other peanut butters.

Anyway, I'm just looking for the obvious factors. High in protein, generally nutrient-dense, and low in fat.

I would love a nut butter that is lower in fat. The oil from peanuts are good fats, but most peanut butters I look at have like 2x fat compared to protein. Not great when on a low fat lean-gain diet.

^Can't have it all man. You are asking for a nutrient naturallly high in fat with a low fat %.
Stick to lean chicken.

Cashew butter often contains sunflower oil. (At least in Europe)

I love almond and peanut butter. Ordered 5kg this week.

You can buy peanut flour (PB2 etc) and make it into peanut butter with water - 45cal / 5g protein / 1.5g fat per 2tbsp. It's not quite the real thing but tastes good enough.

Yeah I know. I stick to egg whites, non-fat greek yogurt, boneless skinless chicken breast, 93% lean beef, and lean fish like tilapia and tuna. I just love peanut butter and its a really simple easy way to get some good healthy calories in your system.

I'm curious what Almond butter is like. I'd check that shit out.

Interesting... I'm tempted to check that out.

Does anyone buy the Kaizen Whey Isolate from Costco. I'm on my 2nd tub of it and it mixes and tastes well. If the nutritional info is legit it seems to have a pretty high amount of protein per calorie compared to other protein powders.
