As much as I like closer smaller self-determination against globalism you have to realize that Catalonians are bat-shit-crazy. They are far more left and SJW than the rest of Spain. They also have the idiotic notion of Muslims and Islam particularly being their friend and invite as many Islamists into their little region as humanly possible.

The Spanish Caliphate will arise in Catalonia first and they will enjoy many many future enrichments, gang-rapes and knife attacks soon enough.

Barcelona as a city have a long history of going full-retard every 50 years or so, sometimes less. They chimpout in the 34, they chimpout during the Civil War, and this time the Spanish state will need to do the same as he did in those times.

Catalonians in Spain, like Scots in UK, are the globalists and communists of their respective country. The only reason they supposedly want to be independent and "nationalist" is to institute even crazier immigration and socialist policies in their corners of the world. Fuck them all. #fakeseparatists

I was pro Catalan-independence until I found out their leader was a journalist steeped in 30 years of leftist activism. Presumably they would then not join the EU? The European experiment is slowly falling apart.

I wouldn't want to live there, and I don't think I'd get along with the people there politically, but that doesn't mean I don't think they should have independence if they want it.

Hilarious that the actually oppressed Basque people, who are also significantly different from Spanish, have settled down and accept being a part of Spain while retaining their own culture, while Catalonians who have never been oppressed in any way are foaming at the mouth and snarling to "liberate" themselves.

Given the unfolding events on the streets of various towns in Catalonia along with Rajoy's cack handed approach, that won't be the case for much longer.

RE: Politics & War Lounge
The clashes between the Guardia Civil and the Catalan protesters appear to be intensifying with reports of disturbances in the other main Catalan towns of Lleida and Gerona.

The main Catalan trade unions are meeting tonight where it is speculated that a national strike will be called for Tuesday. Where do we go from here? First thing's first, whatever you feel about Rajoy and the PP, he has really fucked up here. The repercussions of his actions will reverberate throughout Spain and beyond. From reading other sources, no doubt pressure will be put on the Catalan Government and Assembly to act to counter Madrid's response with a possible declaration of independence in the offing should they wish to push things that far.

The next week or month could very well be crucial for Spain's continued existence as a state but today's actions I feel have irrevocably damaged the Spanish state and it's a case of not a matter of 'if' but 'when'. In the worst case scenario, if Catalunya did secede, the knock on effects would be profound. The region is Spain's richest and for it to go would rob the Exchequer of 30% of its revenue. That is irreplacable. When Yugoslavia lost Slovenia (which was similar in terms of economic clout to Belgrade as Catalunya is to Madrid), it imploded. Likewise Spain could too.

Spain is a a defacto federal state with regions like the Basque, Catalunya, Galicia, the Balearic and Canary Islands, Asturias etc enjoying various levels of regional autonomy. If Catalunya goes, how many regions will follow. A rump Spain (if it ever did emerge) would be a shadow of its former self and severely weakened, pretty much like Yugoslavia was post 1992. It would be prey to neighbouring states, especially from Morocco which covets Spain's North African enclaves. The two countries nearly went to war in 2002 over Parsley Island near Ceuta.

Then there is the question of Spain's national debt.

Whatever happens today, Spain will never be the same again. May we all live in interesting times.

Why are you surprised? Given that modern Spain was created by the Nationalist victory in the civil war and the integrity of Spain is what is at stake now, Franco and anti-Franco forces will be unleashed.

What Merkel's EU has done to southern Europe is going to open up historical fault lines as well as importing new ones from Africa.

Franco only defeated the communists who were massacring common people (class traitors) as well as priests and nuns. If he had not won, then Spain might have become a communist country - more likely a Stalinist one.

He defeated Republican Spain and its allies - Catalan and Basque nationalists. A Republican victory might have given Hitler and Mussolini pause for thought. I don't know. History is full of 'what ifs'.

Catalonia is signing their own death if they declare independance. Their vaunted "we are the economic hearth of Spain" is a lie, most of their trade is with the rest of Spain, the biggest companies already told that they will left if the region get independant. Also, no other country will recognize them, and will never get into the EU. The left-wing "independentistas" are going for their own suicide.

If he establishes a workable framework for keeping people in against their will, it will be a big step for the Globalists.

He can't do that to Britain (nukes/navy/geography) so he's got to do it to small fry first, then start exerting himself against countries that won't tow the line like Poland and Hungary.

Most likely because if Catalonia goes independent they will be used as a launch point for a full scale African invasion into the rest of Europe, much greater than even what they have now.

You could be right HCE.
This could be exactly where the EU traitors are leading us with their 'safe passage' spiel for illegals (mostly Africans) to land in Catalonia and be distributed across the welfare states of cucked European countries.

Massive errors spotted in BLS data.

http://www.zerohedge.com/news/2017-10-06...ating-data

Quote:What one sees here, as Andrew Zatlin of South Bay Research first noted, is that while the Total Private Average Weekly Earnings line posted another solid increase of 0.2% month over month, an upward revision from the previous month's 0.1%, when one looks at the components, it become clear that the BLS fabricated the numbers, and may simply hard-coded its spreadsheet with the intention of goalseeking a specific number.

Presenting Exhibit 1: Table B-3 in today's jobs report. What it shows is that whereas there was a sequential decline in the Average Weekly Earnings for Goods Producing and Private Service-producing industries which are the only two sub-components of the Total Private Line (and are circled in red on the table below) of -0.8% and -0.1% respectively, the BLS also reported that somehow, the total of these two declines was a 0.2% increase!
