Congrats on your streak! Is that both no porn and no fap?

Currently I'm on day 9 of no porn/no alcohol, and day 4 of no fap. Right now it's more important that I get this porn thing under control, so I'm allowing myself the occasional fap as sort of a safety valve. I'm in the process of starting a new business, so that's been occupying most of my focus/energy. I've been so caught up in it that I haven't had much desire to watch porn, or even to fap.

However, I am really struggling to get my sleep patterns locked down. I can usually fall asleep pretty well, but I honestly can't remember the last time I've had a solid night of sleep. I wake up many times throughout the night, and spend half the night tossing and turning while trying to get my mind to slow down.

Next thing I know my alarm is going off and I'm so tired from not sleeping that I finally doze off for another hour or two. I'm basically losing a couple hours each day by oversleeping, and then never feel all that rested, leading to decreased energy/mood throughout the day. Of course feeling shitty in general sometimes leads to other undesirable behaviors like watching porn and drinking.

I've been reading through the thread on bright light therapy. Though costly, it might be worth picking up a light box. I'm also going to look into magnesium. You say you do high magnesium supplementation...how much do you normally take?

My streak is PornFree and NoFap. This was one of the warning signs that caught me - I would often enjoy the porn more than the orgasm, and would spend more time watching then actually jerking off.

One thing that has helped is whenever I get an urge, I'll open a porn tab, verbally announce "this is counterproductive. You don't want this," then close the tab.

It sounds like your sleep issues are fucked. Caffeine/alcohol use?

I can't recommend the light box enough...it's subtle, but I find my mornings happier and my evenings relaxing.

Magnesium supplementation varies....take at least one pill of the magnesium recommended here, see how you feel, increase dosage, repeat. Max dosage would be 800mg/day.
