I am not looking at it from a sports perspective. I am not interested in sports. I am interested in fighting. I am making a point that no sport reflects perfectly who is a better fighter, because a sport - any sport is not like a real fighting. Still some sports are undeniably closer to real fighting then others. Boxing is closer to real unarmed fighting then balroom dancing and MMA is closer to real unarmed fighting then boxing.

Ok so I could kill mayweather and Connor in a knife fight. So fucking what.

Knives are not part of the rules. Does that make them bad fighters or not Great?

Stop trying to find reasons and rationale for why Connor or mayweather is not not great.

I trained guys how to knife fight that did two tours in Fallujah. Most of those guys would kill both fighters barehanded. Does that take away from their skill? No. Under the same rules my guys would lose.

Stop accusing me of implying some stupid points I am not.

Obviously both of these guys are great fighters.

But in real life you can encounter every type of attack - punches, kicks, grips, knives, guns, and much more. The more different things you know how to use or defend against the better. In real life you will have no referee coming to your aid if someone pulls out an attack/weapon you are not used to.

I repeat - I absolutely don't care about sports. I am only interested in fighting sports as far as they can be transferred to practical combat skills. Hitting backside of your opponents head when there is such an opening is very practical.

Then don't watch boxing. Shit. Stop watching UFC
Non of those things are real combat enough for you.

You really don't get it right?

I cannot believe a repped forum member is acting that dumb. Are you drunk or trolling?

Nobody said sword-fighting is more realistic then unarmed fighting. I would say in modern times one is more likely to get involved into unarmed fighting then swordfighting.

I am talking about being competent in as many fighting forms as realistically possible.

What is so hard to understand about that?

I'm pretty sure Traveler Kai is a Conor hater or a troll...for someone whose supposed to be a "martial arts expert" he's pretty closed minded. Just to piss him off more, I'll just say that boxing is a safe space for slap fighters that don't want any business of a shin bone nailing them across the head. Its hilarious he's saying "muh boxing cardio" but can't even simply acknowledge that having multiple disciplines is better than having just one.
