Your advice for getting a degree seems to be aimed towards the younger cats, what about those of us who are several years post-grad (with a worthless B.A degree) and looking to make the swtich to the oil/gas industry, head back to school or dive in? I'd like to hear some opinions from some of the more experienced members as well.

Pace, if you're dedicated to a career change, an engineering degree is the way to go. You'll notice I havent said any university degree throughout this thread because, unfortunately, many who rack up massive student loan debt for a B.A. are not really any better off for it. Maybe a PhD would help?

If you're just looking for a job & lifestyle change, Alberta is flush with opportunity.
