On average, that is true, if you take the average of a tradesman vis-a-vis the average university graduate. Even the Globe and Mail disputed the commonly held notion that university graduates earn a million more over their lifetime. The salary disparity is much greater with university graduates (e.g.. Engineer vs. Classics) than a tradesman (E.g. Welder vs. Electrician). Fort Mac also seems to be an exception in this regard as the pay is much higher. Something to think about.
