Even if you get out there and realize that you don't like it, there are many other options for you in the oil biz, as you've already seen from some of the nice job offers you turned down for the drilling gig.

I wish I could have been there boozing with you guys this weekend sounds like it was a good time, I'm hoping to be down in Etown by the end of this week.

I'm going to emphasize this post. Drugs and drinking after work are very common. Be wary. Drinking heavily daily almost everyone does, and I'd say more than half the guys smoke pot, and at least 10% do dope/crack.
