RE: Working in the Canadian oil sands: 6 figures in 6 months!
Posted this on Reality-Check.ca. Havent gotten a single response...so I'll try here. And, yes, I've read both threads in their entirety.

Quote:First post - been reading the thread and the thread on Roosh and I am looking for some more information on jobs for Mechanical Engineers....but Camp positions.

I'm currently in Ontario, but my fiancee is in Edmonton working. I want to leave HVAC and get into Oil and Gas somehow. I don't mind doing the labour work for a short while, but I can't see myself making a future out of it. I've been noticing people mentioning MWD as a career path and I notice two companies are advertising for MWD field engineers for drilling rigs. Can anyone shed some light on this? I can't seem to find a concrete pay scale for MWD and I can only assume that its not the most steady of work seeing as drilling isn't year round...

anything is appreciated.

Thanks!

I've seen a couple of postings, but not many for MWD trainees...but there's not much info out there.
