RE: WINE edition.
The one i really want to taste is this:Aisla T' Orten...it is 105 yrs old.

Price: $1.4 million

'105-Year-Old wine has set a new record of being one of the finest wines in the world. The wine is produced by the well known company Malt whiskey and was discovered by Scottish historian. The hard fetched whiskey was distilled on February 17, 1906 at the Aisla T’Orten distillery in the Highlands. The cask that was used was a sherry butt and was kept in the basement for about a century by Aberdeen-based historian, Allie Sisell. It was sold to Master of Malt in 2010 by Mr. Sisell and was bottled on March 8, 2011 after it spent 105 years in cask. That is the reason this exclusive drink is worth $1.4 million.'

i couldnt agree more...except for the part that ."...nobody would pay...."i can see if somebody like paris hilton inherit billions...i can totally seeing her doing something like this....It has to be a useless daughter or a bitter ex-wife wasting your money.....anyways, at the end of the day, $44 million is the price and the price is the price....regardless of how stupid.

Like i said, the one i want to taste is the Aisla T' Orten that is 105 yrds old.

Why are you so negative? Did your parents teach you to be this way?

Eljefe...i understand your concern and i appreciate it....but if i may hazard a guess...i think billy has a strong visceral reaction to things that are pretentiously ostentatious without any real value behind them....or things that he thinks are like that. I think, for billy, if something is ridiculously expensive, it should be worth it: hence his reaction to richard mille and the wine limoncello.

I have stated my view of richard mille already...where we disagree...but, i dont see myself disagreeing with with him on limoncello...the diamonds is what shoots the price of the vintage...which is not the reason why i drink wine. Just my personal preference, of course.

But, eljefe, i can see how you see such visceral reaction on billy's part as been less tactful way of expressing his disgust at what billy sees as nothing but "overpriced, unsophisticated piece of junk".

Of course, i could be completely wrong in my assessment of the situation...i will exit stage left and let billy speaks for himself....

I just hate the mentality of pricing things to create demand. Its like girls handbags, they cost very little to make but can cost up to 20,000 US dollars this is just a trick to convince normal averagely wealthy people that the other handbag they sell for 1k is actually a good deal even though the manufacturing costs is less than $20. I believe in premium products , a Saville row suit or a pair of Barkers shoes represent quality, a rare level of skill and workmanship hence the price but many designers are creating a brand to sell cheap crap at premium prices. There has been a massive rise in super premium to cater for the new super elite but what we have now is an effort to convince normal people to spend a fortune on shit they don't need. Fashion items are here today gone tomorrow real quality lasts for lifetimes. For example Fossil watches, they buy cheap china made movements and brand them with a range of desinger names then sell a $10 watch for $300 this is rampant stupidity for every idiot who thinks they are wearing an Armani watch. Same with designer sunglasses I like good optical quality, glass polarised lenses so I usually wear raybans at $200, oakleys are also OK but with them usually plastic lenses, what drives me mental is the number of $100+ sunglasses with poor quality lenses and frames that are priced entirely on the strength of a manufactured brand name.

The guy who calls himself a "Master of Complications" uses stock ETAs in most of his "complications"! He's a joke of the watch community dude. Now you say RM is around all of five minutes - do you know when Franck Muller brand was founded? In the 1990s!

You still haven't stated any objective reasons why RM is overpriced comparing to other high end brands. So far your reasons are: ugly as sin, and... I thinks that's it.

You genuinely know sweet FA about watches do you, Franck Muller hand made his first Toubillons in the 80's back when only Patek and Vacheron knew how to make them, some of his movements are ETA based but he still has more patents for more complications than any other watch maker, tell me what complications has financial manager Richard Mille invented ? Thats right fuck all because he is a corporate CEO not a watch maker. Franck Muller has built the watch with the most complications, he has patented more original complications than any other watch maker and at least makes wathes that don't look like a piecce of shit. Tell me what unique complications does CEO RIchard Mille have to his name ?

Dude, it seems like your watch info comes from Robb Magazine. I understand they have pretty pictures of obnoxiously overvalued watches like Corum, Kobold, Hublot, and Mr. Muller among other junk for the clueless.

Now, I know Muller made some technically interesting pieces, but that stuff is not production watches. Were talking individual pieces like a flying tourbillon for a 1/4 million and up that quality wise are among the top. What you seem to be comparing is their mass produced joke like let's say your Muller's Conquistador which retail over 20K. You would be VERY lucky to sell it for 5k in mint condition. It's like judging an auto maker by their concept cars. You wouldn't think there is a bench made Bugatti engine in your little Corolla S?.
He became a joke when - not even mentioning the cheapest stock ETA movements he used - he also outsourced dials and hands! Man, even TAG wouldn't be so obnoxious to charge 10-20K for a Carrera.

But if you're looking for a nice original chrono I suggest a GO. Nice understated watches.

Most expensive phones....
Stuart Hughes–the iPhone 4 Diamond Rose Edition.

"Latest iPhone from Stuart Hughes–the iPhone 4 Diamond Rose Edition. Hughes has recreated the infamous antenna band that wraps around the sides of the latest iPhone, as well as the backplate, using rose gold. The band is adorned with 100 carats of flawless diamonds, and the Apple logo is formed with fifty-three more diamonds. Once again, the home button gets the most love–it’s made of platinum and features a rare 7.4-carat pink diamond.

The phone comes in an imperial pink 7-kilogram chest cut from a single block of granite and lined with nubuck top-grain leather. It also comes with an 8-carat flawless diamond that can be used in place of the pink one."

The asking price: $8million

I think it is just silly. The pink turns me OFF. They just slap diamonds and gold on these things and that is it. Personally, i prefer this one: the Gresso Luxor Las Vegas Jackpot...it has gold/diamond...but it goes beyond that, it has a certain smoothness to it, egyptian inspired design is also neat, and of course, it tops it off with an exclusive african wood...the Mpingo...

Gresso Luxor Las Vegas Jackpot

"This ultra-exclusive phone, limited to only three units, truly lives up to its name. Not only is it extraordinarily expensive, but its Egypt-inspired design will look right at home in the hands of a Vegas high-roller. The phone features 45.5 carats of black diamonds decorating the bezel and a back panel made from 200-year-old African blackwood—the most expensive wood in the world: the Mpingo. As if that weren’t enough to ensure the Jackpot a place among the world’s most expensive mobile phones, each key is cut from a hand-polished sapphire crystal. All of these luxurious materials are set in a 180-gram solid gold frame."

ASKING PRICE? A smooth: $1 million

Here is what it looks like:

The Most Expensive Race Horse
The Most Expensive Race Horse

CNBC did a compilation of the most expensive thoroughbreds:
http://www.cnbc.com/id/39456431/Most_Exp...roughbreds

Last time i check it was the "GREEN MONKEY" that still take the cake. It was fetched for $16million. Let us put that price in contest. 'Compare that to some Kentucky Derby winners who sold at auction: Fusaichi Pegasus went for $4 million, Alysheba went for $500,000, Winning Colors went for $575,000. The Green Monkey cost at least 4 times that price.

The irish tycoon outbidded the middle eastern sheik for this horse.... If i recall correctly, they get them when they past being a foal: when they are around 2 yrs old(of course, they only go for the colt) and train them for those races...but...you should still see some action out of them before plunging down something as high as $16million.

Green Monkey is not the fucking SECRETARIAT for fucks sake.

Here is his pedigree. .

He was descended from FORESTRY....

Take a look at the picture of the horse: this is what $16million looks like.

Here is a video of the horse at auction:

His performance? a fucking disappointment. So they let him enter stud...even his performance there was also disappointment, i think he finally sired one a year or so ago.

I just dug up a choice quote(check below).....The best part:

"The Green Monkey Makes a Monkey Out of Bidders

Unless you’re a huge fan of the band America, you might not envision shelling out eight figures for a horse with no name. That’s exactly what happened in a January 2006 auction at Calder Race Course, though.

When the auctioneers brought a colt who was only known as “number 153” to the auction block, a fierce bidding war broke out. Buyers weren’t afraid to open their wallets for a colt that was described as “perfect,” and when the hammer dropped the horse went for a record $16 million. The winning bidders quickly christened the colt The Green Monkey, and excitement to see how the horse would do in races began to build. After all, the colt had run an eighth of a mile in a blazing 9.8 seconds in pre-auction workouts, so anything was possible once he started racing.

The buyers thought they were getting a Triple Crown threat. Instead they got the thoroughbred version of Ryan Leaf. (entropy: OUCH!)The Green Monkey could never translate his workout speed into actual races, and in his career, he only managed one third-place finish in a measly three starts.(entropy: HAHAHAHAHAHA) In 2008, his owners retired him from racing to stand at stud. If his progeny enjoy the success that eluded the Green Monkey, he might make some of his substantial purchase price back. It will be tough, though; right now he only pulls in $5,000 as a stud fee." (entropy: HAHAHAHAHA. HEHEHEHEHE. HOHOHOHOHOHO )

DRESSAGE.
DRESSAGE.

Continuing on the themes of horses. There is dressage competition. It is not as gay as it sounds....it is an art of precision training of horses. The Persians used it to help in their Parthian shot strategy.

The most fun one i have seen so far is by Andreas Helgstrand. He did it on the BLUE HORS MATINE. The dressage master can select whatever music s/he wants.

Anyways, here is a video of what i am talking about:

Here is more stuffed-up version:

Entropy check out Sea The Stars, this horse was given to some chinese kid by his parents and was undeafeated in his 3 year old season of group one racing. That horse won every big race in Europe and was retired at three with an estimated value between 95 and 160 million dollars. The value is based on a stud fee of $116000 per shag, thats right the horse is so alpha it gets paid a 100k each time to fuck the finest mares in the world.
