Lenny, this is the NoFap thread.

It seems you're so addicted to masturbation that without it, you can't sleep (leading to dark circles under your eyes).

If you'd like to celebrate how often you touch your penis, please discuss it elsewhere. Thank you.

This happened, so I did this, and I felt like this. Now it's a fact and a universal law.

You're not "redpilling" anybody. You conducted a 17 day experiment as if that holds any weight, despite all the contrary evidence (firsthand accounts) in this thread. Did you even read through the thread?

Highly recommend Roosh’s newest article, “How To Control Lust”:

RE: NoPorn / NoFap Google Group - For Those Who're Serious
I have been trying to do this NoFap thing (as part of an attempt to become a better person in general) but failing.

I can make it about 3 or 4 days, and then it gets to the point where I can't sleep or focus on anything besides my lustful thoughts. At that point, I usually just give up and say screw it.

I am aware that fapping leads to increased degenerate behavior. At a certain point, fapping alone is not enough, and (assuming you don't have easy access to sluts) you start doing degenerate things like watching porn, going on online chat rooms, looking for prostitutes, etc.

I am ashamed to say I did one of those things recently. I am posting about it because that way I can't avoid the shame that I should be feeling.

Roosh is writing articles about "How to avoid lust" and I'm reading those articles and telling myself I want to get closer to God, but in reality I am acting like a degenerate.

RE: NoPorn / NoFap Google Group - For Those Who're Serious
Ironically, the first week after relapsing is one of the hardest. NoFap commonly refers to this as the “the chaser effect.” I believe the root of this feeling is that the dopamine high of orgasm is still so recent to your brain, you want to chase it that much harder.

I fell this week and am wrestling with this as I write.

The only remedy is to push through. If you give in and reset, you’ll feel the same temptation in 3-4 days once again. Break through the wall and you’ll come out the other side stronger.

RE: NoPorn / NoFap Google Group - For Those Who're Serious
I sure hope it gets easier after the first week or so.

At this point, it is either I get right with God and quit jerking off and doing dirty things online or I embrace the devil and continue to indulge my lust and end up in hell (literal hell as well as metaphorical hell on Earth).

Me not being active enough probably contributes to the problem. I am going to school full time, but most of my classes are online so I don't leave the house that often. Maybe working out or getting a physically exhausting job would help? Does anyone have any experience with this?

I always thought working out would make NoFap harder because of the extra testosterone going into your system, but I'm starting to think I might have been wrong about that.

RE: NoPorn / NoFap Google Group - For Those Who're Serious
Exercise is excellent for NoFap since it provides you an outlet for your energy. It also makes you sleepy, so you’re less tempted at night.

Being stuck inside all day is a recipe for disaster. If I’m working on Saturday I’ll make sure I go to a coffee shop so I’m not alone for hours on end.

Above all, recognize that this challenge is impossible without God’s help. We are weak, feeble creatures, and the satanic powers pushing lust on us are supremely powerful. Ask for His help and you will succeed.

RE: NoPorn / NoFap Google Group - For Those Who're Serious
back when I did my Nofap 130 personal record, I did 50 days Impossible mode. Taking zinc, magnesium, copper, boron, (all the natural test boosters) WHILE doing semen retention. It made me horny ALL THE TIME. But at the same time, it caused me to be more motivated to keep with my goals.

You have to see what your eye-opener is. For me, it was either "can you imagine James Bond or Bruce Wayne fapping? NO? then why are you?" or "while you're over here fapping there are guys literally fucking these girls. While you're out here fapping the girl of your dreams is getting stroked out by some dude who doesn't need to fap"

Personally what's helping me now (which is toxic) is looking at my ex who's cheated on me IG, WHen I have moments of temptation I look at that and all the visualization of the cheating comes back and just make me sick. Porn seems DISGUSTING after that. Very Toxic but its best to make a good situation out of a bad.

I made it 3 days again and it's not getting any easier. I feel like I might just say screw it today. All I can think about is lustful thoughts. I can't concentrate on anything else.

Keep yourself busy. Plan out every hour of every day for the next 2 weeks. Study at the library or a coffee shop were you cannot easily give in to your urges. If you keep busy enough, you won't even think about it. After you go enough days in a row, you will get over the hump and it will get easier.

↑ What about the guys who say things like this:

I remember when this forum was a player forum, some guys would talk about how NoFap made them so horny that it would motivate them to go out and get laid.

I hope this isn't the case, otherwise I will have to give up on NoFap. If I'm going to be horny all the time and be tempted to watch porn and hit on girls, I'd rather just fap on my own (without porn) and get it out of my system.

^ well at the time that was exactly what I desired. Honestly, I feel the only way to control lust in 2020 is to lower your test. There's to much sex and temptation flying around to do otherwise.

I have done nofap 3 times...not recommended. Too much T builds up and makes you irritable.

The 2 above posters are weak, "not touching my weewee is too hard, would not recommend fellow redditors".

I'm not perfect at this but knowing what you know and feeling what you felt on a streak leaves little alternative to nofap.

Use the abundance in energy/test to get shit done. You're horny? Do as many pushups as you can at once, then pray. You'll be fine.

Can't be supporting pornographers who abuse women.

RE: NoPorn / NoFap Google Group - For Those Who're Serious
Just like everything, there are several drawbacks or hardships to doing something. It is no different with this but the advantages far outweigh the drawbacks and forestdweller is correct, you need something to transfer all of that energy too, this is the idea of sexual transmutation written about in 'Think and Grow Rich."

The Good for me: Workouts are insane. Weights that I struggled with are shooting up noticeably easier and I am folding the heavy bag in half. Productivity is also going very well, school and personal projects are getting done quickly and with adequate amount of attention to detail. One of the most damaging, IMO, about porn consumption is how much of a time suck it can be.

The Bad for me: I admit there are times when it is exceedingly difficult to think about anything else and thoughts become singular toward that end. Some, such as Robert Glover, author of 'No More Mr. Nice Guy,' that is popular with many on this board, suggests that masturbation without the aid of pornography is not as damaging. I don't personally subscribe to this notion, I am an all or nothing type guy, but I do see where it might be helpful for those in the beginning process of kicking a pornography habit.

RE: NoPorn / NoFap Google Group - For Those Who're Serious
This has most likely already been said, (not going to look through all these pages) but becoming spiritual and getting closer to God is the only thing that has made NoFap for me easy. So easy in fact that it no longer bothers me, which I thought would be impossible given my libido. I quit pornography early last year, that wasnt too hard, but fapping was still a bad habit of mine. I go no fap for 4-7 days and all I would think about would be when I would COOM. Truly, i had coom brain. I would rationalize it by saying "well if i'm going to become irritable by holding it in for days, i might as well just release". But every time I did, i felt guilty, even though the frequency was much less than before.

Since becoming more spiritual this past fall, NoFap almost instantaneously became easier. I dont even think of myself doing "nofap" anymore, I just dont fap and thats the end of it. I cant explain it, but getting closer to God, reading on the saints, the church, etc etc has finally given me the strength and will to no longer masturbate without even putting in conscious effort. All of my secular friends who try no fap fail eventually and those who dont become extremely irritable where it shows in their daily interactions. The only way to successfully succeed is to become more spiritual.

I believe the temptations and the effects of them are literally unseen beings of the dark variety in some dimension higher than ours actively focusing on us.

The thing they hate the most is Jesus, so if they look at you and see Him they scram. After a while they don't bother anymore as long as you keep close to Him.

The western world has done very well to hide these simple ideas of spiritual concepts from people.

Repentance means "to change your mind about God" and it is available to anyone who asks Him in sincerity.

Some of these concepts are simplified and make Atheists spiral into a fit of rage.

The way you push the temptation away is simply ask yourself "what would Jesus do?" and then do that. That is what I mean when I say "they look at you and see Jesus" because you are repeating the actions and displaying the qualities of Jesus which is repulsive to the unclean spirits.

This is me right now.

I have been making an attempt to be more spiritual and religious, but as you pointed out in the other thread, my motivations for doing so might not have been the best.

For the past month and a half, I would be able to go 3 or 4 days and then I would get to a point where all I could think about was sex. I would always end up saying "screw it" and just doing it.

The funny thing is that even if I would do it, I would be relaxed for maybe 2 or 3 hours and then I would be horny again. It's like my body knows I'm not with a real woman. Back when I was having sex, I would be satisfied for several days without getting horny again.

Last week, due to some things that seemed to be going wrong in my personal life, I totally gave up on NoFap and I was doing it multiple times a day in addition to getting drunk and going on dirty websites looking for girls to talk to about dirty things.

I noticed that when I fall into vice and sin, it puts me into an overall shitty mindset and I end up making bad decisions in other aspects of my life. This leads to bad outcomes and life situations, which in turn leads to more vice. It's a vicious cycle.

I am finally back on NoFap but it's only been a day and a half. Hopefully God will help me stick with it this time. If I continue to engage in these vices, I will end up in hell (both literally and figuratively, as in hell on Earth).

I would spend time reading sites like Reddit r/coomer and laughing at how degenerate people are, and then I would realize I'm just as bad if not worse.

Interesting points above.

Perhaps if you're just starting, going without porn would be a better segue.

But honestly if you can gut out the first 3 days the temptation subsides by something like 80 percent for me.

Either way playing with your dick with or without visual aid is pretty beta. I read somewhere (possibly in this thread, sorry) that beta chimps in a chimp society just beat off and watch the alpha do his thing. Persevere and have faith in God.

For me I found that Alcohol made it 10x worse. So I would also recommend getting away from that if you are consuming it more than "a glass or two over a meal with friends".

Alright guys, time for a firm restart.

In the past I've made it almost to 45 days. This time I am going the distance.

I started intermittent fasting the other day.

I quit alcohol (that is, removed all drinking) from my life 3 weeks ago.

Without alcohol I've noticed I'm a lot happier. I am hoping these changes I'm making in my life will usher in an era of productivity and confidence.

Report back frequently so people here can keep you on task. Be honest, though.

I'm glad you've quit alcohol and started fasting, too, but be careful about overloading yourself. Classic New-Years-resolution-overload.

No resolutions this year thankfully.

Start a new job next week so I feel the need to work on self-improvement.

Will try to post an update next week. The first 7 days are easy.

RE: NoPorn / NoFap Google Group - For Those Who're Serious
It was recently recommended to me that I block dirty websites (such as porn) from my computer so that I can't access them.

I downloaded an app on Google Chrome called "Block Site." However, if I want, I can easily remove websites from the block list and access them whenever I want. Also, the app only works on Google Chrome, so I can still access the websites from Internet Explorer or from my iPhone.

Anyone have any better suggestions?
