Don't like what I'm reading. "As long as you dress nice your body doesn't really matter." That may be true, but is that the message you want to give people? As cascadecombo asked, why settle for ahead of the general competition? Fitness is not just about looking good in a bathing suit, it's health and attitude as well.

RE: The Power an amazing physique has over women
There's other factors that don't even seem to come into play at a glance but which might have more of an impact than we think.

A guy that's just started lifting might not have serious bulk but his body is wired physically and he's dripping testosterone. His posture is going to be keen and women are going to pick up on all of this stuff, subconsciously at very least.

Meanwhile a guy who's well built but who's slacked off for the last six months is going to be in a primal slump that will turn females away from him. They will sense a kind of sickness about him.

So in a sense it might not even be the physique as much as the fact that people with that physique are generally putting in the effort to get it and keep it, and what women are responding to is that virile energy.

Not only that, facial transformation plays a role as well. Losing fat makes your face look more masculine - this thread is a goldmine of examples:

Close guy friends have told me repeatedly that i must be getting laid a lot. Wanted to play along and say yes, but whats the point, so i set em straight that it doesn't matter much having a great physique, especially in Toronto. Its all about what you spit.

Anyways, end of my semi-rant and cheers to RVF members dedicated to working out and eating right regularly, keep up the good work, as this is the only investment in life that has a guaranteed pay offs.

I think it's normal for guys to admire men who are in shape, could be something they are aspiring to be or it could be sexual, you never really know unless they make it known what they are thinking.

I think from the whole porno industry, some guys imagine when they see a muscular or in-shape guy in person that he must really be fucking alot of women as usually that's why most teenagers an men start lifting because they want to attract as many women as possible.

I agree with the pay-offs, I strongly believe that guys who are in-shape are better lovers if nothing else, your belly isn't slapping into her every time you long stroke her and she has something firm to hold onto while pound it out.

RE: The Power an amazing physique has over women
As you get older your physique matters more that is why you should start lifting young and keep at it. I have lifted weights for years, have some muscle, and never had a girl put off by it. I am 30 and am glad I lift. Better to have a little muscle than fat. Muscle looks better then fat as you age. This thread is funny as you have people argue about how much muscle/is it worth lifting/will girls not like it. Simple question: how many men here have been rejected by a girl for "too much muscle"? I have not and never met anyone in the gym or in my circle of friends, workplace, etc

I never said your "body doesn't matter." That's ridiculous. Of course it does. I'm just saying that there is a point of diminishing returns if you PRIMARILY focus on getting an "amazing" body for getting women or success. These two things are like night and day and it makes a huge difference how you think of them. Real success in life comes from being well rounded, including physically. That success just happens to include women. Yet, for whatever reason a lot of men focus on two things BODY and WOMEN. They believe there is a high correlation. What I'm saying is that this correlation is not as high as they think. Another words, I would not EVER want to give want to give the advice to any newbie on the forum to...Focus primarily on your body and don't worry too much about other stuff, which is what I'm seeing the trend towards in this thread.

There is also other factors. Age of women obviously will matter, as will their background, ethnicity and goals. We can't discount these. I mean, have you seen some of the guys a few of the hottest Russian women are around? They don't have an "amazing" physique but carry themselves well and are pretty bad ass. I'm guessing money also has a lot to do with it as well as this high level of confidence, which brings me to reiterate Leonard D Neubache's point below.

(01-01-2017 08:07 AM)Leonard D Neubache Wrote:  There's other factors that don't even seem to come into play at a glance but which might have more of an impact than we think.

This is got to be the most underrated post in this thread. If you are active and keep exercising you will feel great and that will translate into your social interactions. I'll take the testosterone pump any day. The effort should matter more than the results, just like in any goal, task or situation. Great thing about exercise is that you WILL see results. With other ventures, it's your journey that matters because YOU MAY NOT see results. Your ability to get back up, not give a fuck about the recent failure and go get the next sale or next girl with confidence gives you a lot more than exercise can for this reason.

Source: I started lifting not too long ago but growing up never was athletic. I'm in decent shape but could be better. I look good in what I wear (suited up) and get respect due to the way I carry myself. This wasn't always so and I didn't get here through working out only. I have done hundreds of cold approaches in the worst possible situations as well as become the top sales person for my company this past year for the group that generates over 50% of our company's revenue. I used to think, oh shit, I should work out more, otherwise people will notice. However, what I realized is that people don't see it or care and rather just see me as a confident, well dressed social guy that can go out and get some more of what he deserves. If you have the time and dedication to make this a goal, cool, but let's not pretend that this has so much power that other things are secondary.

You cannot control the face that mother nature gave you.

You can control how your body looks.

Go to a country with fit girls and where looks matter, then report back to me about how having a good build doesn't matter.

I just returned from Iceland, I saw hot chicks in a gym clean and jerk the equivalent weight of the average male.

I have been in the gym for over 20 years, it isn't easy to get a amazing physique.

It takes discipline in your diet and knowing how to train your body properly.

RE: The Power an amazing physique has over women
A powerful body impresses both men and women, its that simple. Your strength acts as a signal to your dedication to make your body strong and healthy. It commands both attraction and respect. What's really key in all of this is to pair great posture with a strong body. I've even seen guys that aren't all that well built walk into a room with outstanding posture (chest out, shoulders back, chin slightly up, hands open and welcoming, great smile, etc.) that just exude confident warmth and good vibes. These types of guys magnetically attract people to them because their effortless charm is due in large part to mastering their space. Yes, hit the gym and lift, but your actual posture is equally important.

In this video, there was also a camera guy filming what the main dude does.

It's a not so subtle signal to a girl that this guy is high value. He has an entourage (even if just one guy in this case) filming him working out at the gym.

We can never rule out that women are just responding to a professional looking camera in the vicinity. Or an entourage and one guy looks like the VIP.

RE: The Power an amazing physique has over women
The two things I've extracted from these two discussions are;

-Women CLAIM to dislike guys who are vain and 'obsessed' with their muscles

-If you get too big, women won't like it.

Those are the two major objections so let's look at them. When are your muscles going to be visible? Probably when you're clubbing on a saturday night especially in colder regions where you'll wear a jacket for most of the year. Is it vain and silly to bring out your body on the dancefloor? I would think that it's the right thing to do because the girls who like that scene respond to that. They are not going to have an in-depth discussion about russian literature when a rap song about sex is blasting hard enough for you to barely hear her.
When women think of bodybuilders as being vain, they are going by some distorted mental image of a guy on stage oiled up as if it that was the only thing he ever did in his life. They are not going to judge a guy's subtle display of his physique in the club in the same way because they have to deal with the reality of him being a real person with a voice, emotions, interests other than bodybuilding, clothes etc.

As for the getting too big thing, I doubt that will ever happen without steroids EXCEPT when you count fat. There are tons of guys in their teens, 20's and older living in denial about their fat gain and some even embracing their disgusting guts as a subculture of powerlifting. You can EASILY get 'too big' this way but you are not really big; just a uniform chunk of blubber and muscle with few 'male curves' and shape.

As someone who does not have naturally high testosterone, I'm taking natural bodybuilding very seriously and the only time I got too big I was not big, just fat. My size is subtle enough to completely disappear in winter clothing and be somewhat disguisable in a thick long sleeved shirt but if I ever need to bring my development out, it's a tool I will have in my arsenal.

The only people who ever doubt the benefits of having a top 5% of the population physique are those who've never experienced it. So they rationalize away the hard work and effort required to get there as being not worth it.

I've never known a single man who went from either skinny/fat/normal to in very good shape to not have their experience/success with women completely change. Its night and day.

I'm dead in ground zero of the land who idolizes tall lanky guys, where both girls and guys make fun of muscular guys as being bull heads without class or intellect. Even then I think I hooked most girls through my lean physique, and some said it outright that it looked a lot better than they thought it would be.

I dont think you need to get "big" though, lean and muscular is the shit. Think Bruce Lee's frame with more mass where it matters.

RE: The Power an amazing physique has over women
I started lifting in college because I had trouble meeting girls. It improved my confidence and self-image, and made me more noticeable to girls in my social circle and in classes. By senior year I was actually hooking up with some girls, and towards the end found a decent girlfriend.

Over 15 years later, i can say confidently that almost every girl from every culture likes muscles.
I didn't understand this during my blue-pill years. I'd take women at their word when they said things like "I don't like muscles/muscular guys."
Even my ex-wife, who professed to not like them (I stopped lifting for several years during our relationship and then started again) would make a kitten purring sound when sitting next to me and feeling my arms in the car or on a train/plane.
I just finished a school thing. I'm not the most jacked of guys, but most guys are soft these days so if you're in shape you stand out. There were a few girls there who'd regularly comment on my arms/physique.

When chicks say they don't like muscles, they're either:
A) taking about roid freaks
B) engaging in some kind of meta shit test to discourage you from becoming your best self
It's kind of like the "out of her league" fallacy that Rollo talks about...

The two girls I have on rotation right now are vocal about it. One is Japanese and asks cute questions like "how you get sixpack" or "how you get muscles"?

I don't care what women think, I care about how I look.

When I look good I feel good, no matter what.

When I feel good and confident in my own skin, people including women take notice.

I don't have to come up with jokes or witty lines in a conversation, being relaxed and making strong eye contact does me fine.

I have NEVER heard a girl with a good body say she hates too much muscles on a guy. I have heard chicks I wouldn't give the time of day say this.
I know in some cultures they may disapprove of guys being too buffed, I take that with a grain of salt.

I have been to some of these countries and I can tell you the response was more than favourable.

There are more men out of shape than in shape. There are more boys out of shape than in shape.

Even with steroids you still have to work your ass off.

Having a decent body is only one facet of the game.

What is stopping you from getting in shape?

Plenty of exercises you can do from the comfort of your bedroom.

Doing a 100 push-ups at night always gives you a good pump.

I agree that a good body is a definite asset, but you have to remember that at a muscle expo, the girls there are a self-selected group of girls who are into fitness. They are not representative.

I agree with the other posters that what appeals to most girl is the Ronaldo type physique. Lean, athletic, muscled to a point. Just masculine. It's the kind of physique a successful hunter-gatherer would have. The kind of physique that would naturally develop given the daily activity of a man in a state of nature.

RE: The Power an amazing physique has over women
I've never seen a roided up freak with a truly attractive girl in my life.

Using steroids communicates a lack of self-esteem which women can smell a mile away. It repulses them.

Also, notice that the only people who are impressed by massively jacked physiques are OTHER guys, lol. So have fun using steroids to impress gay men.

There's also the fact that when you approach a girl, you have this thing over your body called a shirt. She can't see what your physique is like.

BTW, don't confuse this post for me being anti-lifting. I lift 3-4 days a week and I recommend having as good a physique as you can naturally attain. Just don't be naive like the 15 year-old virgin down the block who erroneously believes becoming yolked will get him booty. It doesn't work that way. Women care very little about your physique, not to mention they won't have any idea what your body looks like until she's in bed with you...and at that time, you've already sealed the deal, regardless of your physique.

Be very careful with taking advice from dudes who post here. There are a lot of guys on here who are very obvious KJs, dudes with little experience with women who paint themselves out to be experts. I've done over 1,000 approaches. I've put in the work and continue to.

RE: The Power an amazing physique has over women
I'm 6ft and lean but with tone. So I'm biased when I say this, but still. We have to be careful promoting the idea of a really buffed body in getting chicks. Whether or not it gets chicks wet is a separate issue to how hard that ideal would be for a lot of guys. For me, if I wanted to be buffed out I would have to spend even more time in the gym and spend the rest of the time eating. The maintenance would be very stressful.

Developing verbal dexterity, masculinity, and understanding female psychology would be more helpful (and easier) to you in banging that hottie who (as others have posted) wouldn't know how cut you are when you first approach.

Saying all of that, the rugby physique is very popular with women. It's not exactly cut, just stocky. But lean and chiselled (as I am) gets a few compliments whenever I take off my shirt too. I'd like to be a little bigger, but it's difficult for someone with my genetics.

Also, to repeat what others have said here, whenever I see buff guys from the gym at the store withas their partners, their wives/girlfriends are never that hot.

There is always a misunderstanding. NOBODY has said that anybody here wants to look like a competitive bodybuilder or strongman contest. The argument that having big, powerful(not freakish)muscles is only going help. The issue with being super lean but super small is nobody can tell through clothing and you're still small. So having big enough muscles to tell through clothing is great. It's one of those things that you have to pay attention to but girls are grabbing who's arms, backs, asses, etc.

There's also the fact that when you approach a girl, you have this thing over your body called a shirt. She can't see what your physique is like.

Traps, Pecs, Lats, Glutes, Quads, Calves and a well recessed spine are all apparent if you're wearing neatly fitting clothes short of a winter outfit in Alaska.
