I think Vietnam is pretty bad for that because my Vietnamese friend has me bring him over Kamagra jellies every time I visit from Thailand, and gets me to mail it.

Some good gouge in here, definitely.

I'm flying to HCMC from HN today, just for a long weekend. Staying in a 4* hotel a few blocks from the Vincom Mall. If anyone wants to shoot the shit over coffee while swiping on Tinder, PM me.

Gents, bumping this thread up for a question that I dont recall seeing answered: will airbnbs have those no-girls policy or a guard that will stand at the entrance possibly cock blocking? Definitely appreciate the advice. Thanks.

@Zerdane: some will, some won't. No general policy about this, sorry.

I stayed at an airbnb with no door guards at all, just keycard access, and no reception either as that's on the 2nd floor and the room was on the ground floor. Central location (D1) walking distance to everything, $30/day.

RE: The lowdown on Ho Chi Minh/Vietnam - datasheet
Hi everyone I just joined this forum.

I am here in SG now, working as a teacher and focusing a lot on game. So far I have managed to get around 12 back to the hotel in about 1.5 months. Still learning as I go since I'm new to it all. I am a 7/10 looking guy IMO and I have no trouble here. Having white skin means you're half way there honestly.

SG girls are in love with foreigners, and they aren't afraid to show it.

OBSERVATIONS:

There are not many fat girls here. It's related to their diet.

There are genuinely few women here I consider as ugly. A lot of those nerdy girls who aren't astounding, but not ugly either.

It stands to reason, but all the women I have met love it when I try to speak Vietnamese. Forget the tones, they'll understand anyway.

Most of them are very willing to come to you. Remember, you're a foreigner who has a high value here. Use this to your advantage.

Girls here are very curious about sex, but they will always never initiate sexual talk as a result of the conservative culture here. Take control with that.

MY METHOD:

Used Badoo. I suppose there's less foreigners on there than Tinder but I am not sure since I don't use Tinder. Weed out the ones who don't speak English/are not good looking/ are too conservative. Swipe everyone for the sake of simplicity and deal with the matches you get. Typically, I would meet the girl in real life, get to know her, assess her personality, checking for any sign that she's too conservative or uninterested in one night stands.

One thing you must know, is that marriage/relationships are pushed upon women here to the extreme. Women who are older (26+) are often under a lot of pressure to find a man and get married. Therefore, appearing like a good moral guy who isn't discounting the idea of a relationship can actual help you to secure more lays (in my experience at least).

Also living here means a world of difference I've found. A repeated question from the girls is "are you travelling here?". They've caught on to the evidently large amount of foreigners who are passing by and looking to get laid. In essence, what you're trying to do is no different, but the overall outlook is quite different, being someone who lives and works here instills some level of faith in you.

Day game does work very well here, due to the inherent interest VN women have with foreign men, but because of the generally low level of English here, you must expect relatively low levels of success unless you speak Vietnamese. Can try your day game with many of the attractive women walking down Nguyen Hue in District 1.

I've got one girl I matched on tinder that's working for this company that hosts international parties. It's called Let's Party Vietnam and based on their website, it seems pretty legitimate and basically what most international parties around the world looks like. Anyone of you Viet vets been to this party?

I dont know what it is about Viet chicks but I found their personalities so disagreeable.

Not sweet, very vulgar/unsophisticated yet also super sensitive and can't really banter or flirt. And I met girls frm all walks of life - poor and scraping by, rich and driving daddy's BMW, etc... I dont know, just didn't get along with them somehow.

Seeing you're in Thailand, maybe Thai chicks are a better fit for you personality-wise.

I'm the opposite -- I get along much better with Viets than Thais. When I banter/flirt, Viets laugh and banter right back... Thais get upset.

I agree, Thai's are ULTRA sensitive. They are the least attractive asians to me, but Viets are probably next. I'm not in Thailand btw (thank god)

To answer my own question, I just walked into a pharmacy in HCMC (District 1), and they sold me 4 generic Cialis pills for 150K dong (about $6.67, or $1.67 each), no questions asked. Not that I expected questions. $1.67 per 20mg pill is not cheap relative to the better online pharmacies, but it is definitely easy to get.

I was here about two decades ago. The difference is huge. Roads are good. Motorcycles loaded like pickup trucks on rural roads are now the exception and not the rule, and most important of all, no children begging or selling trinkets on the streets. The only thing that remains the same is vehicles weaving through each other at intersections and somehow miraculously traffic flows. But back then it was one car per hundred 50cc Honda motorcycles, and often a very old car, and now there are many more cars, mostly modern, and larger motorcycles. Altogether, solid progress.

Guys,

Qatar is having a golden ticket sale in business class for return trips to nearly every continent in the world for under 750 RT. Sale is for Sept-late March. I've booked it for a mileage run so its legit.

I would go through the booking process and hold it for 24 hours and then make a decision. That if you don't already have plans to travel or return home by now.

You can use google flights to search locations around the world and then book. I actually used mom to get exact dates and then it took me straight to the booking page of qatar.

This Viet security guard had enough of this 'beg-packer' :

Well he was not technically a beg-packer since he was selling balloons with pure oxygen in it to get people high, so at least he was offering something in exchange, in a street where there are may vendors. Security guy didn't like it and that dickhead should have just fucked off.

To be honest -

Selling something to get people high, on the street, as a foreigner, In Vietnam...
Getting aggro up in the face of a security guard...

- the kid is beyond stupid.

P.S. that little viet girl at the end that helpfully throws his balloon back to him as he falls down concussed... LOL... for some reason, that feels soo Viet Nam. Vicious brutal elbow, then helpful innocent politeness Big Grin

That made my day

When I was in Vietnam, I actually got the sense that the people were "proud" (country felt very "Asian" compared to other places in SEA)

It's funny that the kid got in the guy's face and had 0 idea he was about to get hit

You aren't getting laid because you still believe in "game".

Here's how I went from being a 21-year-old, videogame-addicted, Asian virgin to banging too many girls to count (no PUA bs):

Vietnamese people are small in size, but big on toughness and heart. I have a lot of Viet friends and one thing I like about them is that they know how to chill, but if shit goes down, they'll jump in the ring without dropping a beat. The security guard made multiple attempts to tell the dealer to bug off, but he didn't listen. Some dumbass white folks just don't get that if you pull those kinds of stunts in many Asian countries, the best thing you could hope for is an ass-beating. Yes, Asians will often let you save "face" if you take the opportunity. Continue to act like a dumbass? Get your ass kicked. It is actually a fairly efficient system of street justice. Big Grin

I've got a friend who is American Vietnamese. He is about 6 foot and well built. He got pulled over by an old school Viet Cop who looked 5 foot 4 and 90 pounds wet. He got in the cops face a bit and then got beat down via police baton. I'm sorry but Vietnam is not a country where you fuck with cops. You have to be very stupid to try.

Also... you don't fuck with government officials of any kind there.

I'm thoroughly enjoying Saigon, especially in contrast to Thailand where I've spend the past few years.

People don't smile as much but when they do smile it seems more genuine as opposed to the automatic buccal contractions programmed into the Thai brain.

The girls are stunning, kinky, assertive and intelligent (again, comparing against Thais). The Viet guys I've met are genuinely cool and curious people.

Food rocks, everybody knows that. Coffee culture is huge.

Just a generally interesting place, though I wouldn't stay here more than a month at a time and certainly not in D1.

Vietnam can be pretty cheap even by SEA standards once you learn the lay of the land. If you live in more of a local area where you can eat street food rather than in tourist restaurants, your food costs are negligible. For instance, I'm living in the northwestern part of District 3, about 15 minutes from the backpacker area by motorbike. My apartment plus utilities comes to 300 USD per month. Pho costs 30k, about $1.30 in the local alleys. Bun bo hue (spicy beef soup) $1. Com suon (rice and pork) $1. Seafood dishes for about $2, a kilo of most fruits for $1 in the street market. Pint bottles of Saigon Green beer for 35 cents. It costs $2 to fuel my bike for the week, and you can pick up a decent bike for $250-300 on Craigslist. And keep in mind that this is all in Saigon, maybe the most expensive city in the country.
