But you won't do the same

I want to believe he's being beta on purpose to sell records, but this is so beta that I think you really have to be a little beta to sing it without your body rejecting it.

Great minds think alike!

I've been hearing this garbage at my gym for months...never bothered to look up the title/artist.

When this shit is on the TVs at a gym I feel like I'm being propagandized, Maoist style.

"Take a bullet straight through my brain" ?!? tard

I think the bullet went straight through your balls, asshole. Vaporizing both of them. Not that you ever used 'em.

I mean, the lyrics are so cringe-inducing it could pass as tongue in cheek satire of betas.

I've always been intrigued by John Mayer. Incredibly beta songs, incredibly alpha conduct off-stage. Seems like a winning strategy.

RE: The most beta song on the planet
Alphas can get away with acting beta - in fact to many women it is actually endearing and their deepest fantasy is to have a male who is otherwise alpha (high status, massive wealth, stylish etc.) be devoted to them. Nothing strokes their feminine ego like being wanted by a guy with status. Think about how popular Twilight is with girls. If that sparking vampire dude was just a regular guy he would have had a restraining order slapped on him but he can get away with it because he's supposed to be a vampire and vampires have received the benefits of made sexy by so much past literature and other pop media. The same came apply to rock stars or these guitar play poof guys.

The problem is that an average guy will see these dudes sing songs about bringing flower to some girl's doorstep and assume that the reason the dude is getting tail is because of it - no he's getting tail because he's a high-status guy and actions like this don't work for the average guy.

Musicians are so desirable to women it's not an issue for them, they are communicating an emotion (feelings) not a sound mating strategy.

Cake , Alpha Beta Parking Lot : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vlsYu9Sjny4

Lyrics:
standing in the alpha beta parking lot
watching the sun set
I'll never forget
watching all the reds and oranges slip away
letting go of yet another dirty day

breathing in the fumes from so many idling cars
right beneath the sign with the dusty yellow stars
watching the sun go down

standing in the alpha beta parking lot
watching you leave me
not quite believing

standing in the alpha beta parking lot
watching the sun set
I'll never forget
breathing in the fumes from so many idling cars
right beneath the sign with the dusty yellow stars
watching the sun go down

RE: The most beta song on the planet
Guys, guys guys so much to learn, tsk tsk

This is the most BETA and needy song ever. Just about every line of this song is needy.

Please don't go Please don't go
I don't wanna be all alone
Say your mine and give me tonight
Let's stay together
Please don't go Please don't go
You're the only angel I know
You were sent from heaven above
To love me forever

Please don't go Please don't go

If you leave me
You let a good thing fall apart
If you deceive me
You leave a pain inside my heart
I really need you
Just like the air I need to breathe
I'll stand beside you I'll never leave

Please don't go Please don't go
I don't wanna be all alone
Say your mine and give me tonight
Let's stay together

Please don't go Please don't go
You're the only angel I know
You were sent from heaven above
To love me forever (forever)

Please don't go Please don't go
[ Lyrics from: http://www.lyricsfreak.com/n/no+mercy/pl...01482.html ]
If you leave me
You're gonna spoil a dream we shared
If you leave me
I'm gonna miss the way you cared
I will try harder
I'll make you fall in love again
And I'll be faithful until the end

Please don't go Please don't go
You're the only angel I know (angel I know)
You were sent from heaven above
To love me forever (forever)

Please don't go

If you leave me
I'm gonna search the world for you
If you leave me
Sweet memories will shine on through

I'll always love you
No matter what you do or say
Cuz when I touch you
Light touches the day

Please don't go Please don't go
Don't you know that I love you so
Say your mine and give me tonight
Let's stay together (together)

Please don't go Please don't go
You're the only angel I know (angel I know)
You were sent from heaven above
To love me forever (forever)

Please Don't Go

Yeah the entirety of Bruno Mars' 2010 album Doo-Wops & Hooligans (yes, seriously) is beta. I think this takes the biscuit though...

Yeah, this wind the Beta Awards, not really for the lyrics (although very beta by itself), but for the song background. The songwriter was never in any relationship with 'Delilah', he merely just met her through a mutual friend and wrote a sappy song about her. How cute! Puke Stalker anthem.

Is this Beta?

"And if a double-decker bus
Crashes into us
To die by your side
Is such a heavenly way to die
And if a ten-ton truck
Kills the both of us
To die by your side
Well, the pleasure - the privilege is mine"

This song has gotten me laid before though
Hahahaha

You can run with beta songs all day long as a musician and get away with it. Think about Nine Inch Nails. Nobody in their right mind would call Trent Reznor beta, but Pretty Hate Machine was about getting dumped, cheated on and treated badly.

In comparison, Closer is super alpha.

EDIT: I do music. It's beta on purpose.

I'm in the process of writing a song for my band, about a girl who wants to fuck me, but won't unless she's drunk.

RE: The most beta song on the planet
How about this old diddy from Baby Face:
SOON AS I GET HOME FROM WORK:
"I give good love...
I'll buy your clothes...
I'll cook your dinner too,
Soon as I get home from work.
I'll pay your rent...
Your faithful lover...
Soon as I get home, soon as I get home from work.
Girl, I'll treat you right...
And I'll never lie...
For all that it's worth...
I give good love. (good love, good love, good love, good love)"

I can remember hearing this song and actually thinking it was the admirable and correct way to be towards woman! Songs like these have truly help in destroying the pscyhe of the American man!

Don Henley - Boys of Summer
http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x1yqje_...mmer_music

-----
I thought I knew what love was
What did I know?
Those days are gone forever
I should just let them go but-

I can see you-
Your brown skin shinin' in the sun
You got that top pulled down and that radio on, baby
And I can tell you my love for you will still be strong
After the boys of summer have gone

---
Guy that can't get past a girl and doesn't mind sloppy seconds or thirds. Sounds beta to me. Still a pretty good song though.

I can see how some of his songs can be described as beta, but I don't think I'd call any of them "incredibly beta". I'm curious as to which songs you feel that way about.

John Mayer is an incredibly talented songwriter and guitarist and while his songs are very emotional, the ones relating to girl are almost always about fucking a girl and then developing complicated feelings for them afterwards.

It's not like he sings about watching a girl from a distance and describing how he would die just to get a chance to hold her hair when she gets too drunk and pukes or how a girl is a goddess and he just wants one night with her but he can't get it. The songs virtually all revolve around banging.

The dude also has a lot of deep emotional songs that have nothing to do with girls. Many involve self-reflection, fears, and questions about life, and can be pretty inspiring.

I hate when guys write off John Mayer as being a pussy or a fag without knowing what he's all about. In 20 years, he's going to be considered pop/rock royalty, right next to Clapton.

RE: The most beta song on the planet
Music panorama is part of the culture and just reflects the societies we live. And as we know our societies are completely ruined.

Women are the great consumers of pop music nowadays. Then, men follow them and listen what women like to. That's why pop music is absolute shit nowadays.

Today, lots of successful male pop artists are made to abide women's desires and are just like the above examples of Bruno Mars and James Blunt: ultra-feminine voices, semi-androgynous faces, childish melodies and repulsive beta/needy lyrics.

Fuck today's pop music. Just listen the old guys who had masculine voices and were alpha as fuck: Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Serge Gainsbourg, Leonard Cohen, etc.

Sometimes I think people don't really understand music. Sometimes lyrics don't mean anything at all, sometimes Lyrics are what mean the most in the song, and sometimes both.

More so, people understand the writers and composers of the song even less.

Its funny how I already knew the "most alpha song" links posted would be a dumb rap song. Just when you thought the Alpha Beta dichotomy couldn't get any more dumb.

Did you listen to the song? I listened to the song and checked the lyrics. Its written from an alpha perspective so it was a good addition to the thread.

Gangster Rap vs Pop, as a whole, IS alpha vs beta. Heres some lyrics from the song mentioned, compare them to the pop lyrics that were posted above:

Quote:Ain't got no jewelry on still I'm shinin' hard
Ain't got no bodyguard walkin' solo through the mall
Bitches and the hoes know they see me they like: "There he go!"

^He rolls Solo Dolo and isnt flashing cash and chicks still recognize the game

Quote: Fuckin' is my favorite word, reason why I'm fuckin' her
Purr, I love that kitty cat. Ass fat, throw it back, I can't believe you wifing that

^Banging chicks that others dudes are trying to Wife.

Quote: My pistol drawn, her boyfriend got me paranoid
Nigga try sneakin' up on me and I'm makin' noise
But what I failed to understand
I'm the muthafuckin' man, ran into him, he's a fan Goddamn...

^Banging some beta dudes chick who happens to be his fan.

Quote:Pussy drips, raining in her cervix, I'm a fuckin' pimp
Saggin' low, crack a nigga bitch just like pistachio

^Banging bitches and knocking out White Knights.

I know there is corny rap out there, but "gangster rap" is about that Alpha life and almost all pop is about that Beta life. Gangster rap is made for thugs and Pop is made for 15-30 year old chicks. I think its a fair to generalize that rap is alpha and pop is beta.

Heres the song that was originally posted. (Im not trying to make the argument this is a great song, I wanted to clarify why it was originally posted as an example of an alpha song.)
