Tobacco Vanille is great, as is Tuscan Leather. If you're buying because you want to impress a woman, stay away from those. They're more for fragrance enthusiasts, you won't get many compliments from younger women on those in my opinion.

RE: What colognes do you own?
Perfume is a must for me. Can't see myself stepping out of the house without it. i feel naked.
Ive become hooked with fragrances since grade school. I wore JPG Le Male those days as a grade schooler!

now im 23 and wear mostly niche. I like Black Aoud by Montale. quite similar to Frederic Malle's Portrait of a Lady. bitches love this.
most of the time the sillage of my perfumes do the approaching on a night out and girls stop me to ask what im wearing
and i start RUNNING GAME from that angle and even gotten quick bangs! (can't believe i was called a troll and banned before for posting a thread about perfume just because i said i wear frags that are MARKETED FOR WOMEN. avid perfumers dont give a shit if it says For women/pour femme)

anyway, Black aoud by montale is sick. aside from its scent, the sillage and longevity is astounding.
Black musk also by montale is superb.

some niche frags i recommend:

Xerjoff : casamorati 1888 , Nio, Kobe
Maison francis kurkdjian : Oud
L'artisan parfumeur : Timbuktu , Voleur de roses
Montale : Dark aoud, black aoud, intense cafe, black musk, aoud musk
Dior Prive: Oud ispahan, Leather oud (although these 2 are skanky. not easy to pull off) and Patchouli Imperial
Guerlain: LIDGE
Hermes: Terre d'Hermes
as for Tom Ford's private line, dont like them anymore. they've been reformulated years ago (watered down)

I get plenty of compliments on Tobacco Vanille, Tuscan leather on the other hand doesn't go down so well.
Can't go wrong with Aventus by Creed, that shits cuntnip.

Mont Blanc Legend. I keep coming back to this one, I get lots of compliments on it and it lasts a while. In warmer months I might go with Ralph Lauren Silver, but MB works best for me most times.

BTW, I would be careful of Fahrenheit. Not sure nowadays but when it came out that cologne was definitely a hit among homosexuals, and even marketed as such. That and to a lesser extent, Grey Flannel.

Should you wear different scents for different weather/time of the year. Anyone got any knowledge on that?

I recently received a sample of Mont Blanc Legend. I gotalot compliments on it. Ordered a 3.4oz bottle on the FragranceX website yesterday for $30.

The cologne I get the most compliments though is something that costs $24 and was sent to me by a fragrance company on accident. Burberry Sport! This shit is a pussy magnet.

In my collection now I have added:
Viktor & Rolf Spice Bomb
Acqua Essenziale Blu by Salvatore ferragamo
Givenchy Play Intense
Armani Diamonds

Paco Rabanne One Million - will be replaced with something else, once I finish it.

Carolina Herrera for Men (CH Men)- absolute beast. Used for dates. Very few people use it.

Jacques Bogart One Man Show Red (Green is also good) - killer. Very good clubbing scent. It does not last long long, so have a small sprayer ready, and be liberal with it!

Ceterum autem censeo Scandinavia delendam esse.

This is what I do, warmer/sweeter scents for cold weather and drier/greener for hot weather. I also have a day an night scent for each season.

For summer it's typically Bulgari Pour Homme in the day, and Yves Saint-Laurent Homme at night. Right now I'm rocking Dunhill Desire Black in the day and Issey Miyake Nuit d'Issey at night. Tom Ford Grey Vetiver was my old favourite winter day scent, but it's a little more formal than what I need right now, and a little more expensive than what I want.

RE: What colognes do you own?
You should absolutely have scents for each time of year. Spring and summer you want to wear a cologne that is lighter, with more of a citrus based scent. Colder climate you wear heavier woodsy scents. There is a fairly big community you can find on Youtube with all sorts of geat info. They call cologne juice haha. Still very knowledgeable with advice on summer/winter, day/night, club fragrances etc. Someone posted a video of Jeremy Fragrance. Highly recommended checking his channel out.

My favorites:
Creed Millesime Imperial
Channel Allure Sport
Yves Saint Laurent L'home

And of course the mysterious but revered....

Creed Aventus! Aka Panty dropper

It always baffles me the reputation that Creed-Aventus has. It is talked about like a miracle perfume in many fora, one far above all the rest. I wonder if it is all hype or not. Unfortunately the countries where I lived in the last 5 years don't carry it, so I have no idea for now. Very expensive though... is there any perfume worth that much for a guy making a normal wage?

RE: What colognes do you own?
Aventus is a super classy fragrance. It comes off as masculine but pleasant and very inviting. I think it's hyped because of the price combined with its rarity. I bought the smallest bottle for 185 US dollars. It's my going out scent. You can buy decanters of Aventus for 15-25 in most fragrance forums. It's definitely something I'd recommend even if it's a small sample. A little goes a long way.

As far as other fragrances. Anything from Yves Saint Laurent is excellent. For every day scent L'homme and for club or going out check our their la nuit de l'homme.
Blue de Chanel is another classy fragrance for less than 50 us dollars.

With high-end frags like Creed and even expensive niche scents, the "ROI" in terms of getting girls or impressing them isn't great. I've had lukewarm reception to Aventus, and my most complimented frag (and favorite scent overall) is Nautica Voyage ($20 for 3.4 ml bottle). I'm not saying that fishing for compliments should be your #1 reason for wearing a cologne, but it is just something to keep in mind.

RE: What colognes do you own?
The thing is that once you go high end, almost everything else smells cheap.

Some girls can also likely smell the relative quality of cologne. Therefore, in preservation of your dignity, in my opinion you should go high end or wear nothing but lightly or unscented deodorant. Wearing cheap cologne is the rough equivalent of wearing Keds sneakers on a date. In my opinion, along with shoes and perhaps a belt, cologne is one of the essential men's items to spend more money on.

Most of the time when I wear cologne its merely for my own pleasure and not when I go out. If you are of that disposition, then I say invest. If you aren't, then its probably more practical to be a no cologne guy.

You don't need many to start and, if you pick well, you only need one utility cologne. For me, the perfect utility cologne is Terre D'Hermes. I can wear it to the gym or to the opera. Though, there is some talk about one of the ingredients building up in the body.

The other colognes in my rotation are Creed Green Irish Tweed and Comme des Garcons Kyoto (perhaps too dry for many). I own Creed Himalaya but don't wear it much. I chose these 4 colognes after a lot of sampling across all lines. I've tried to work in some cheaper colognes that smell good at first, but they have all inevitably smelled too synthetic to me after repeated attempts at wearing them.

I messed around with Pheromones for fun, but only wore them out once. I mixed some with Himalaya and wore it to a bar. That night, honestly, my buddy's wife's hot engaged friend asked when we were going to bang (as her fiance performed as the lead singer in the band playing at the bar) and I got invited home by another girl. I'm not saying that it was the pheromone, as I had a flirtatious history with both women and had prior hooked up with the latter, but neither had ever proposed sex to me before and thus it was an entertaining one-off experiment.
