France bans paternity testing
Quote:http://www.ibdna.com/regions/UK/EN/?page...-in-france

If those samples were found in the post by officials on their way to foreign laboratories, the French men who sent them could theoretically face a year in prison and a 15,000 Euro fine. This year the ban was challenged but the French Government decided to uphold and maintain the anti-paternity testing law.

The reasons for which the Government said the ban should remain were related to the preservation of peace within French families. According to some online articles, Germany, has also banned (or plans to ban) paternity testing for similar reasons. French psychologists suggest that fatherhood is determined by society not by biology.

Facepalm

Even trying to check, no matter the cause for doubt (such in the case of a half-black child of a white couple), is now a serious crime comparable to aggravated assault.

Notice how the argument "it's for the sake of children / family" is now zealously being used to punish men, whereas it magically fades away if a woman is "unhappy" or "trapped in marriage" and just wants out. In those cases, the fact that the children would be devastated and the family destroyed is simply glanced over.

Finally, if fatherhood is really a matter of society instead of biology, we should definitely let those cads who sow children in one-night stands go without paying child support. They never see the children, so they're certainly not fathers!

So if I went to France and greatly increased the Scandinavian gene pool, I could get away with it as long as the women were married?

RE: France bans paternity testing
The logic behind this is really astounding. When is knowing the truth ever a bad thing? The odds say that the majority of these tests will confirm paternity, which would lead to much more trust within the family. And when it doesn't, it means that the family is founded on a lie. So the French government is literally affirming the supremacy of pretty lies.

I guess the hamster reigns supreme in France.

Where the fuck do psychologists even come into play here? What the fuck kind of backwards shit is going on over there?

Also, preservation of peace should be the results of faithful, loyal women that don't cheat - not the result of fathers forever wondering whether the children they're raising are even their own.

So this must be the true reason Depardieu did expat!

Guess what France - your laws are and your government are determined by society.

And as Depardieu proved it - even citizenship can be determined by society and not by biology.

But fatherhood is defined by biology.

I suggest every father and even every man in France follow his example and socially redetermine their citizenship, their loyalty and their tax payments.

Well, from the governments and society's perspective this is perfectly understandable. Preserving the family unit is far more economically sound than the truth. It is however a MASSIVE step back in rights for the individual.

If this makes (married) french women more likely to spread their legs I guess I'll make the best of the situation and plan a trip soon.

Francois Hollande's France has really taken a very sharp turn towards socialism.

France seems more determined than any other Western nation to destroy itself. A pity such a great culture is committing suicide.

France has always been like this. The French version of the Enlightenment was much more radical and much more progressive than the English version. Rousseau wrote at length about educating children, but handed his own over to group homes.

Their motto is "liberty, equality, fraternity," but it's obvious that equality seems to be thesis value. The French version of liberty seems to stress political liberty over individual freedom. In other words, everyone gets a vote but once the majority decides you better hop in line.

Granted, what I am saying is a rough sketch. In happy to be corrected by those who know France better than I do.

This is simply society protecting itself against the individual. It's disgusting to me, but it really shouldn't be surprising.

Btw, I believe I saw a quote by Carla Bruni somewhere in praise of this law. It could have been drafted by Sarkozy as well, although I'm not sure of the exact date. Other than that, I agree with you.

That's the main law banning it in France, but only recently had it become illegal to do a paternity test at a foreign laboratory as well. The article mentions tens of thousands of Frenchmen doing so every year and thus "slipping past", but no more.

You have forgotten that the true agenda of western governments is to destroy families, not build them.

Who needs children educated by parents and not state? Who needs people borrowing money from relatives instead of banks? Who needs potential mafia's and people who cover each other up before law? Who needs people who don't pay their share to the divorce industry?

This is just another example of a legislature that will keep up a never ending artificially raised tension in families until they break. And then the government will be the good Daddy of all the little children.

When Rousseau wrote Emile (one of the greatest books of all time, an authority on psychology) France actually believed in itself, and had strong national pride.

Rousseau was a genius but he was also a piece of shit and he wasn't French (he was Swiss), so he's not representative of the French.

Today the French are pathetic shells of their former glory days. Pretty much after WW2 the French spirit slowly drained out of the nation, and they will all be replaced by Muslims in 100 years. Not from a lack of talent, but from a lack of will.

RE: France bans paternity testing
On the other hand French have always been known for their culture of keeping mistresses and lovers.

At least the stereotype is that cheating is a norm in French society and since everybody does it you are just a loser if you do not.

So perhaps the idea of this law in its proper cultural context is that it is not such a big deal to rise another mans children if you got your own seed being raised in another man's family.

What do you say - does raising other man's children becomes less humiliating if another man raises yours?

This sounds mildly tinfoil hat. Divorces cost the state great amounts. Absorbing costs for children costs OBSCENE amounts. It is of great economic interest to preserve families for the state, they carry each others costs.

But since these costs are increasingly shifted from he state to men trough taxes, alimony and child support, the state doesn't feel so bad about it.

In France there is a 75% rich tax. Above certain income level you give 75% of everything you earn to the state. That is a reason Depardieu renounced French citizenship and became a Russian. And when you see ''rich'' tax you should read ''men'' tax because obviously most businessmen are men. And most single moms are poor people. Another hidden way for a populist government how to transfer money from men to females and look good while doing so.
