Cats are great pets and I love mine. I don't know if you fish, but cats are also great bait.

If these cats become an issue again I can give you a few pointers as far as how to slice them and where to set hooks goes.

Aloha!

Haha, the guys on here saying to have the cats shit all over the house sounds a lot like cutting off your nose to spite your face.

I would go the opposite route. Feed those cats too much to fatten them up. A fatass cat is a cat that's easily managed. She'll probably freak that her little babies are all getting diabetes and shitting/pissing all around the litterbox because it can't jump higher than half an inch.

I have a cat that's like 35 pounds and I like to manhandle the little bastard. He gets overhead pressed all the time. Hates it too.

What's your cat's name, by the way?

Feed the cats something that will give them nasty shits and pretend you forgot to clean out the litter box.

To learn who rules over you, notice who you cannot criticize.

The issue is not the cats, i see a much larger problem. Why are you and a another guy renting rooms from a 35 yr old woman who owns two cats and completely decorated the place? She has control - you are in her world - lease or not. You have framed yourself into a situation you should not be in and this cat episode situation is what is know as a "slippery slope".

You mean Roosh?

You raise a good point. But I don't agree she has total control.

Renters have a lot of rights where I live. I can just tell her I won't have anything to do with her cats and she can hate me but that's largely it.

Could you elaborate on the slippery slope idea?

It's easy to say I shouldn't put myself in this situation, but I need
to save money. Working daily for someone else is full-time slavery, this situation has more hope of being set straight than having a boss, which is a no-win situation every day.
High rent is a pernicious drain which keeps me down. You work for The Man and then give the money back to him.

Renters have a lot of rights where I live. I can just tell her I won't have anything to do with her cats and she can hate me but that's largely it.

I do appreciate your broadening the discussion however. Could you elaborate on the slippery slope idea?

I would just put them outside until she gets back.

Maybe you know something I don't about this situation, but this seems like overthinking it to me. Why shouldn't he rent a room from a 35 year old woman? What do her cats have to do with it?

If she starts asking him to lick the cats' butts clean, then sure, he should move out. But I think you might be taking this a little far.

Good suggestion, but a little late... one of them (both?) shit in my tub!

It's so farcical now it is not bothering me as much.

I'll just tell her I can't do any kind of pet care or pet sitting in the future, with the exception that
if they appear in severe illness or distress and I happen to be here I will call a vet of her choice.

Cleaning up one dump ( and the cat food they got into and spilled all over the kitchen flow) was enough for me.
