RE: Fifa World Cup
The games so far have been below average, with the exception of Argentina showing from the get go that they will be the team to beat. Nigeria was unlucky today. They will be a tough team to face for anyone. Once again, we see how overated is the England squad who can't manage to beat a very average US team. England may still win this very weak group and go through to the 2nd round, but I'm not sure about the US as both Slovenia and Algeria are more than capable of beating them.
Can't wait to see Brasil and Spain's opener. Portugal-Cote d'Ivoire will be a cracker of a game and I wouldn't be surprised to see Cote d'Ivoire get a good result against the Portuguese...

Sorry, I must be really bad at math - I don't add 3 points for you after todays game. LOL!

Well I was right about one thing. You guys were pretty awful.

Never under-estimate the generosity of the English however.

After embarrassing you guys with our very first attack of the game we obviously felt it only polite to let you guys score.

Embarrassing us? LOL - looks like the only embarrassing you did was on yourself after the replays I saw - were you watching teh same game?

Watch out for the germans. Even without Ballack they´re playing the best football I saw in the World Cup. Couldn´t see Holand today though.

Yeah, the way they played reminded me A LOT of the feeling I got when I saw Italy play last world cup.

"Damn, these guys are dangerous. I won't be surprised if they made it all the way"

With that said, I think I'm right on this one. Still, it is very early to tell.

It would be nice for a goal here and there in this WC (other then Germans onslaught of the poor aussies).

That being said, Im thinking the U.S. needs to beat Slovenia to have a good chance of going through.

Brazil is playing like shit. They have to take Kaka and Luis Fabiano out! Grafite and Nilmar for the second half!

I was watching the game and asking myself "Where's ronaldinho?" Turns out he didn't even make the team.

Dunga believed that he didn't "jive" with the team and its chemistry. It was evident though that the team will have some way to go to be successful without Ronaldinho. Aside from his skill, he was a leader on the team and has world cup experience. Without him and Adriano (and Pato...but he was decent at best), and Kaka playing like shit, I really hope someone wil step up. Otherwise, we will get destroyed by the likes of Argentina and Germany.

RE: Fifa World Cup
I was pretty pumped about being in Brazil for the World Cup. The week before Brazil's first match, you could sense lots of excitement everywhere. However, when the time came for the actual game, I couldnt find the party anywhere! All the street activity was dead and the biggest group I saw was maybe 30 people in a pizza restaurant watching on a big screen, and they seemed disappointingly civilized.

I was hoping to watch with hundreds of futbol-crazed Brazilian hooligans!

What's going on? Is it cuz I'm in Manaus, not Rio?
